12/31 is also my BD, so I LOVE celebrating the evening! The neighbors came and went, good food and snacks, margaritas, champagne and soft drinks. Kids played video and computer games. On TV watched the ball in NY, then an hour later watched our local ball on TV, made lots of noise, lots of glitter and streamers, and about 8 neighbors shot pretty fireworks around the area. It was great! Feel so very positive about 2008. God bless America!

IMPORTANT - drivers licenses for 2008
With the new laws implemented by the Homeland Security Act, to get a driver's license. state ID, or passport you will need to have the following:
Birth certificate
Original social security card issued by social security admin.
If married, you must have "tracking" of your name, which means you must have copies of all your marriage licenses so everything can be verified.
You will not be able to board a plane or go into any federal building unless you get the new ID or drivers' license.
Start early to collect all the data you need.
Also, I would urge you to contact your federal senators and congressmen to have them repeal this act.
Welcome to 2008 - High School Hades
Locally we have had students suspended for:
Posting pictures on myspace making gang signs (not gang members just a very juvenile act)
Posting a revealing picture....
Posting a derogatory blog/rant about classmates, teaches, administrators etc,,,,,
I know that there are lots more for much less offensive reasons but those are the first ones to spring to mind.
I do not agree with children/teens doing this but I also dont agree with the school having such a far reach.
On a personal note My daughter was goofing off with friends while decorating posters and such before an activity. In an instant of total dingyness my daughter holds up a ziploc bag of sequence/beading and gives a thumbs up while pursing her lips.
This was reported to the school as her posting a pic of herself with a "controlled substance". My daughter was pulled from class by security and taken to a room where they started searching her school backpack and binder at which time she called me on her cell. By the time I was able to get to the school (which wasn't very long) My daughter was in tears being interrogated by "security" trying to get her to admit to drug use. We are still battling with the school over this and after a three day suspension are retaining a lawyer to protect her we are trying to get this off of her record. The police THANK GOD declined to pursue charges (For what I dont know)
May be George Orwell wasnt so far off.
Since this MySpace has been deleted and will stay deleted as long as Mom and Dad have anything to say about it
2008 Live Chipmunk tour
Has anyone here seen the live 2008 Chipmunk tour? It is free to go and they are coming to my state on the 28th. The mall is a two-hour drive away-- at least and I would have to pull my girls from school to make the show just wondering if it is as good as the movie or not worth the trouble. 
One 2006 german VW and one 2008 chevy truck. nm
