They weren't music videos they were real people. It was reality.

I thought the same but then I watched
and thought it was surprisingly good. It always amazes me to see how people with billions of dollars live. I can't even imagine living her life for one day. Must be nice. I say good for her for snagging a billionaire! I said snagging, not shagging. Well, that too. LOL
You could do it differently.
When Christmas isn't enjoyable because of too much pressure, you can always decide to do it differently this year, or next. For instance, when I worked at an office, I really thought the gift exchanges were pretty annoying, especially when the truth was that nobody liked each other. So at two different jobs I suggested that instead of spending $10 on a gift for a gift exchange, everybody could agree on a charity to send the money to for Christmas.

Don't want to do the family dinner this year? Volunteer to work that day. Then just tell your family it's your year to work the holiday, so you are sorry, but you can't join in this year.

Or volunteer at a soup kitchen or something.

There are lots of ways to opt out and take a vacation from a holiday that has you annoyed.

I did WW, a little differently though (sm)
I joined WW and got materials and first weigh-in but did not have time or money to go to weekly meetings. There is a website called 3FatChicks that is very good!! I lost about 40 pounds using them as my support group. I haven't been on there in about a year but I looked at it again the other day and they are still going strong. It is free and you can join groups of people doing any diet you choose and there is a big WW group on there. I have to get on track again too - I have gained so much lately! Good luck!
Well I see it differently (sm)
I think someone who strangles their baby or shoots someone is intentionally killing them.  Someone who has an abortion usually does not think of it as killing, and that is because of what society generally says about it.  For example, if you were living in a tribe somewhere that sacrifices a person once a year, because of the society you lived in saying it was okay, you would not think of yourself as a murderer.  I don't think of someone who has an abortion as being a murderer.  I consider them to be a part of a system that says it is ok.  I think the doctors/nurses performing the procedure are the murderers.  And to the question some may ask "is it murder?" Here is my analogy:  Suppose you are a gardener who has planted some tomatoes and and the plants are doing very well, look healthy, and you are thinking you will have some mighty fine tomatoes by July.  Then someone comes along and rips them up out of the soil and throws them on the ground.  Did they kill your tomoto plant?
Everybody reacts differently to
medications. It would probably be a good idea whenever possible to start one new drug at a time and see how it affects you before adding a second.

That's not always possible if you are having to treat something acute, of course.
Am I only the one who sees it differently?

I think your daughter has every right to be upset.  You just took in a stranger (and let's face it, he's an adult) and took away your daughter's friend.  Is this 18-yo working or still in high school?  Did his parents ask you to house him or did he move in because he didn't want to go with his parents?

If this 18-yo is working and didn't go with his parents because he didn't want to live with them, then he should be adult-enough to stand on his own two feet.  Your daughter comes first.  At 16, I had girlfriends staying over almost every weekend.  Why should she have to give up her "childhood" because of this stranger.  Perhaps this 18-yo can visit his parents on the weekend, so your daughter can have her friends over.

As an aside, if this 18-yo continues to stay there, then you should sit both the 16-yo BF and the 18-yo down for a long talk.  It's obvious his parents aren't doing their job and they've just left it to you.  I think there's more to this story then we're getting here (and I don't mean that to be rude).  It's very noble that you would take this 18-yo in, but you need to remember that your family comes first.  Good luck to you!

If you knew what the emails said, you may think differently...

this has gone on for a few years now, either she wants to know me or not. One thing is for certain, she sure isn't getting all my information without giving something back. If she wants to meet face to face that's fine with me and if not, that's fine too. While I have curiosity, I don't spend my time wallowing in what could have, should have or would have been. That chapter of my life has been closed for many, many years and frankly the curiosity fades more and more with time.

i know everyone parents differently but if mine
she most definitely is not upset that her daughter is missing--didn't even call the police!!! I think she had something to do with it even if she didn't outright kill her
Lucky and anyone who thinks differently
x
I guess I have always looked at this a little differently.....sm
I was taught and have always believed that a gift is just that....a gift, freely given without the feeling of being obligated to give in return. I was taught how to give freely by seeing my parents give freely and because they wanted to, not because they expected a gift in return.

That is how I have tried to teach my sons, by giving freely to them on their special days without expecting anything from them on days that are special to me. Sometimes I have received gifts, sometimes not, but I know that I always have the most important gift, that of their love, and they know they have my love as well.
And your post is exactly how people see things differently,
for example you think Kelly and Carrie the best- well I for 1 do not care for their music, would have never voted for them and absolutely loved hearing Fantasia- so you see different minds play into who the final contestants are. Simple.
Bezoar was used spelled differently in Buffy The Vampire Slayer
As this big amorphous mass which lived in the sewer and laid eggs. EEEwwwwwwww!!!!!
Maybe I should have worded the topic differently, like Demand stricter laws for sex offenders...
I am sorry if the wording of the topic offended anyone. I was rushed but wanted to type up something to get the word out about what I had seen on the Oprah show, and that was the first thing I thought of. But the main goal of my post was to get people to demand harsher laws for sex offenders and to make the laws more uniform from state to state so they cannot "hide out" in states with more lenient laws.
Well, I watched it and what I got out of it
was that it was a very impressive and famous defense team, an unprepared and unknown prosecution team, and apparently a bunch of either not too bright or biased jurors. It was the joke of the century not the crime of the century as far as I am concerned. Nicole and Ron Goldman's blood was found in his car and his blood was at the scene! Case closed.
I watched every day
I felt he was guilty, still do.
i watched that also
on fox but another network reported that Entertainment Tonight actually made a sizable contribution to the church. would be interesting which one is actual the truth
Has anyone else watched this stuff?
I watched this on CNN last night and this guy had been planning this for a LONG time. Even the news station had to edit the video because of language and could not show all the pictures either, much less read anything of what he wrote. One newscaster did say, however, after reading over some of what this guy was spouting off in his video, was that the whole motive behind any of this was envy. Envy of what other people had, as far as possessions. He even idealized himself as a martyr, comparing himself to Jesus Christ. This guy had been stated as being an imminent danger to himself and others two years ago by a clinical psychologist! Now really, I seriously do not think any of his sick psychosocial mental fixations had anything to do with him being from korea! He was just a walking time bomb that exploded. JMO
I watched it today
not too bad, kind of leaves you with the idea that their lives will go on as usual with the normal changes etc. Of course it is just a television show ;-)
Watched it - YUK - Can you say Morticia?
nm
OMG! Watched on HBO and I was disturbed too. SM
I can't believe you posted this. I watched late last night on HBO. Five minutes into the movie you knew what was going to happen. The glowing reviews stated the fantasy part was wonderful, but found the fantasy as dark as the reality. What a grim story. I thought something was wrong with me, because everyone else I know who saw it said it was wonderful.
we watched movies
Chuck and Larry was one of them. We had shrimp cocktail and stuffed clams and those little hot dog pastries and mini quiches, and then at midnight champagne and Italian pastries. It was a nice night. Happy 2008 all.
I haven't watched it, but
I believe it's the real thing. I watch a lot of reality shows, but this one definitely didn't interest me.
I watched the Dog Whisperer
deal with this very situation, but, sorry, for the life of me I can't remember his solution, but they implemented it and it worked.  Maybe he has a website or a book?  Sorry no help, but Good Luck!
I haven't watched N/T yet
Unfortunately I've got a nasty cold and went to bed really early last night. I'm going to watch it this afternoon. I heard there were major cliffhangers.
I haven't watched it yet, but

isn't it to the performer's advantage not to win?  I know they're all under contract because they go on tour, but doesn't the winner have to pay AI a proceed of their net sales if they produce an album?  I might be wrong on that, but I think that's what I remember reading somewhere when the show first started.

If that is the case, David C. would have been very smart not to come out on top last night.  He definitely got great PR and exposure on the show, but now maybe can cut his own deal with AI getting any $$$.

As for the performers, I like them both but have been a DC fan up to this point.  Of course, I haven't watched it yet (thank goodness for DVR), but DA is just a little too young for me and I like more the rock music.

No, I never watched that movie (sm)
Maybe I'll have to go rent it now and see if I missed something...see what he's all about .
I watched that one with my husband
We couldn't stop laughing the whole show!! Now THAT's entertainment!
OMG -- i just watched the clip --

if my kids had seen that, I would have died.  seriously.

There was something on the net about it maybe being a prank by 1 of the comcast employees.  wonder if that's true.

I'm not sure $10 is enough to get the picture out of my head.  i let my kids stay up to watch the SB -- thank god we don't live in arizona.

I just watched all the episodes

Clara is so loveable. I wrote 3 recipes down and then tried to go to the website, but couldn't get on it.

She is a lesson for all of us; 93 and hopefully still going strong, even with eating what they had to make do with. Reminds me of our private depression in the 70s when we used to buy a 50 pound sack of potatos and make them every night different ways. Don't want to get back to that!

Thank you for posting that site.

I watched it on youtube, but it looks....
like she is lip-synching. And her voice sounded far away...rather strange. Maybe it's the youtube video that is off. But I am wondering if this is a publicity joke. Her voice, while she can definitely carry a tune, I didn't really find it extraordinary. I hope it's not fake, because she would be an inspiration to all.
I have watched enough court room TV
to know that if someone offers to store stuff for another person, they are obligated to make sure that it is properly taken care of. I remember one case where someone had taken the items that they offered to store and then put them in the hallway outside the unit when they got in an argument. Of course they were stolen! That is negligence. They offered to store them for her. They should have parked them with their own quads, as obviously they thought that was safer than near the street, geez.

I agree that it is sad to lose a relationship over $1700, but they were clearly negligent with her property. If her sister was any kind of a woman, she would have admitted it was her fault. I also think that if she would have just admitted it and said sorry that the OP would probably not have been as upset as she was. I have no doubt some of that resentment is due to the fact that they are taking no responsibility whatsoever.

more importantly, we watched him say he's gonna

and has done squat to find the killer.......ya know why?  2+2=4.

And yes - we were inundated on TV for 9 months with this bogus-outcomed trial.........

Watched all for the past 6 years now
but went to their show after year before last and really disappointed. I thought they would have more of the singers together, left before it was over but I love the show and wouldn’t miss for anything.
His performance was the ONLY part I watched!
DH watched the game by himself. He heard Prince from the kitchen. Since it was pouring down rain on them, too bad they couldn't turn the rain purple, LOL.
I just watched 2 great movies.
We rented Spitfire Grill and I caught Guarding Tess on cable. I've seen both before, but what great movies.

I just watched American Idol.
Girls:
I'm voting for Melinda Doolittle. I thought she was fabulous. I also liked Gina Glocksen and Sabrina Sloan and Lakisha Jones

I thought Leslie Hunt improved a lot over previous performances, but compared to some others I don't think she has much of a chance. I was not as wowed by either Jordin Sparks or Stephanie Edwards the way I have been before, but I suspect next week will be better. I liked Haley Scaranato's song choice because it's a fun song.

Boys (I saw this by DVR so I didn't get to vote)
Loved Chris Richardson. AJ Tabaldo suprised me with a great performance. Shows the importance of song choice. Chris Sligh was good, and then maybe Nick. I usually like Blake Lewis, but it didn't sound original to me. Sundance finally came back and did a decent job. I thought Phil Stacey did pretty well.

Sanjaya can go home IMO.
I watched it. Did you just watch Oprah, or...sm

Did you order the 'The Secret' DVD?  I've been thinking about ordering it.  What have you been doing that's fun?  Care to share?

I watched it on Oprah and then bought the CD

It's an interesting CD and I really like the theory behind it, which has been around forever if you think about it. What I didn't like was all the emphasis on material things, wealth, money, etc.  To me it seemed that was the focus of the CD whereas on the show the panel focused on many other types of issues besides just getting wealthy.

I haven't watched any of it on purpose...
but you can't help but hear drips and drabs without even trying.  I have a son in college and my daughter is a junior and starting to look at colleges.  I feel so bad for everyone involved, but I just can't watch it.
I have watched this entire thing...sm
and yes, it does distress me and I feel so badly for those involved. But I guess I am one that wants to know why...about just about everything, I guess. It is not an *entertainment* thing, but an understanding thing. On the news last evening, they had a psychologist explain the difference between a psychotic person and a psychopathic person. Of course, he fit the latter, and according to this psychologist (a woman), this person was a psychopath by the time he was eight years old. That is truly hard to imagine! All of this is truly hard to imagine, but it is a part of life, as much as any good things that happen. The newscaster was defending their posting of this kids diatribe on the news by saying that if it elevates people to the point of correcting the wrongs that let this thing happen, then they felt it was worth it to air it. However, they did admit that perhaps airing it over and over again was not a good thing. Once would have been sufficient, and they also said that *copy cats* were reported after EVERY newsy story...i.e. there were some suicides recently, and suddenly a lot of copy cats showed up, etc. it is not just with this tragedy, but with all tragedies that are depicted on the news, internet, or other media sources. It just cannot be avoided. We cannot go back into the fifteenth century and not be aware. We HAVE to be aware, so we can learn how to cope in today's society. Hiding our heads in the sand is not going to stop it. There are other ways to prevent these things from happening and it is up to all of us to find those ways. Unfortunately it takes something like this to motivate others into creating change.
Me, too. Have never watched any of those kinds of shows. nm
s
My brother told me that he watched my Mom
when they got married, so they would never get a divorce.  Yeah, he said when you get married, they give you two divorce tickets that if torn up, can't be used!!!  I believed him, and no, my parents never divorced!!!
And if you watched the show immediately afterwards, you
xx
What new look? Haven't watched today yet.
nm
Yes, especially if you've watched from the beginning
Luv it
I only watched this show once and fail to see what
s
Glad you liked it to. I watched it for the 2nd time

I ordered the 3-disk set called "What The Bleep Do We Know, Down The Rabbit Hole."  (from amazon.com) I haven't even started on the other 2 discs, but I'm looking forward to watching them!  My husband actually watched it with me and was impressed too, and it's usually like pulling teeth to get him out of his comfort zone, so I am so glad he watched it too!

I would highly recommend The Secret too.  Many people have criticized it by saying it focuses too much on how to make financial gains, but since most Americans are drowning in debt and having trouble getting ahead, it does make sense to me for the movie to focus (at least in part) on obtaining financial success.  I think spiritual matters are more important than money, but sometimes it's hard to appreciate the wonders of life if you are constantly stressing about unpaid bills!

I really do think The Secret helped my outlook on life, and I'm trying to focus and my positive feelings more and appreciate all that I have.

lol at your 2 selves enjoying the movie  (I can't rember your exact quote).  ~KAM~

I have it Tivo'd, haven't watched yet (sm)
Some of them I missed. That may be one.  I'm not going to tell you about the dog.  Sooner or later you'll see it, and you MUST have the surprise factor.
Okay, I haven't watched the show but ...
Since you made the comment, my curiosity won over and I hit the YouTube to see it. YIKES!

Looks like HE was taking advantage. Naughy naughty! Did you see her eyes go huge? And what about how hard she hit the floor on the drop! My back hurt watching it.

Then, the encore performance, she starts shaking her head wildly as if to say, "NO NO NO! Don't you DARE put your lips on me."

He deserved to get dumped by his girlfriend.
Never watched it in the first place because it just seemed silly.
Now that I hear about it, I'm glad I never wasted my time on it or any of the other celebrity and/or talent type shows. I've been on a long hiatus from t.v. watching. I'm just waiting for Lost to return this winter.
Has anyone watched the video of the 7yo who stole

his grandmother's Durango and went on a joy ride?

From the interview, I would say that kid already has some serious issues with authority.  It's sad but if something isn't done about this kid, he will be a future resident of some prison.
