In Reply to: Perimenopause HELP! - FlaMT

I have been absolutely menopausal for about 4 years now.  In my opinion, the perimenopausal stage as far as irritability was terrible.  I am thankful I did not get into any fist fights up at the Kroger.  The poster below is right, I had PMS so bad beginning in my 40s, my doc put me on Zoloft.

That being said, wait till you get your first hot flash.  You will know it.

My face used to be oval, now it is square.  My butt used to be round , now it is oval, and my skin is so dry.  My doc says do not go on hormone replacement unless it is unbearable.  As bad as periods were, I miss them.

I could do more like exercise and eat better, but my plate is as full as everyone elses.  I do know that chocolate soy milk is delicious and helped me with hot flashes.  Dr. Phil's wife, Robin, said she went to an herb medicine thingy store and got something sublingual and never had another hot flash, I don't remember what it was but you could prob find it on her web site.  Yeah, the irritability was real bad with me too, but that eased up as I became menopausal and other symptoms took its place so CHEER UP.    Sincerely good luck.
