Do you know anyone who could take the dog in temporarily until the owners get back? Some people on here are saying that it's not abuse because animals aren't human. I am an animal lover, but on top of that had an experience with my cat that gave me a new respect for animals. His litter mate got very ill and passed away. They were both 2 years old when it happened. He refused to eat or drink after she died. I took him to the vet numerous times and the vet assured me that he was healthy, but that he was probably just depressed. I had to literally force feed this cat for weeks. The vet told me I needed to something fast, or I would lose this cat as well. So, I went to the shelter and got him a new baby brother. He started eating and drinking that day.

Animals are extremely sensitive and feel loneliness just like we do. Also, is it hot where you are? Maybe there is something wrong with the dog. It could be in pain or something. Please try to find out if someone is caring for the dog, or call the authorities. They will make sure the dog is okay.
