We must walk in love and peace every single day of our lives. sm

We never, ever know when we will be tempted to be rude or get angry. If you don't purpose to love others and count others "better than yourself," then you will fall into this kind of behavior. I never want to live like that. I desperately want people to remember for good deeds and love. I know a few people personally in my life right now who wouldn't be missed a second if something were to happen to them. Sad, sad, sad.

I pray His love and peace be with you. nm

His arms are big....rest there.

May you have peace knowing your love will never end. My sympathies

Beyond the Rainbow
As much as I loved the life we had and all the times we played,
I was so very tired and knew my time on earth would fade.
I saw a wonderous image then of a place that's trouble-free
Where all of us can meet again to spend eternity.

I saw the most beautiful Rainbow, and on the other side
Were meadows rich and beautiful--lush and green and wide!
And running through the meadows as far as the eye could see
Were animals of every sort as healthy as could be!
My own tired, failing body was fresh and healed and new
And I wanted to go run with them, but I had something left to do.

I needed to reach out to you, to tell you I'm alright
That this place is truly wondrful, then a bright Glow pierced the night.
'Twas the Glow of many Candles shining bright and strong and bold
And I knew then that it held your love in its brilliant shades of gold.

For although we may not be together in the way we used to be,
We are still connected by a cord no eye can see.
So whenever you need to find me, we're never far apart
If you look beyond the Rainbow and listen with your heart.

I love NYC, and I think everyone should go to see a B'way show at least once in their lives.
But if you're ever interested in doing a shorter, probably less expensive theater trip, don't forget about Philadelphia. Lots of Broadway shows come to Philly. The Lion King, Wicked, The Producers -- they've all been here. The casts can be different, but no less amazing. One of the best nights of my life was seeing Yul Bryner in the King and I in Philadelphia. Amazing! This past Saturday night I saw Michael York play King Arthur in Camelot with Rachel York was Gunavere. I just bought a subscription to the Walnut Street Theatre in Philly and will see Man of LA Mancha, Peter Pan, The Price, the Odd Couple and Les Mis next season, along with Amadeus at the Wilma Theatre.
No, it's not quite Broadway -- not the lights, not the hustle and bustle, not the exact casts. But, for a shorter trip for less money, a quick weekend without the kids perhaps, you can see amazing theatre in Philly, too. And when it comes to food and restaurants, Philadelphia has a well earned reputation as a foodie city.
Enjoy your time in NYC! If you're ever in Philly, drop me a line!
My sister-in-law and I walk together several times a week. We don't walk on a flat surface
we walk around a park that is constantly up and down so we get a better work-out and it is much more enjoyable to have someone to walk with. I have also joined Curves and really enjoy that.
Yep. Just walk away. Nod a lot, and walk away even if they are in midsentence.
I even do this with my family if they start up. And when I start up myself (in my own mind) I distract myself and get onto doing something completely different. Some people thrive on negativity. I have enough problems getting my mind positive. Life is way too short to dwell on negativity. Just walk away and go smell a rose somewhere. Just my advice. :)
Peace to you too : )
Can you find one occurrence in the New Testament books of worship in the ceremonial/specific sense (going to a specific place to worship) being required of bondservants of Christ? The answer is no. Or are the occurrences of worship speaking of obedience in every area of life? The answer is yes. Do any of the Greek words used for worship occur in any sense requiring bondservants of Christ to go to Jerusalem, or to any specific place to worship God? No, they do not. Would we expect centralized ceremonial worship to be required today in light of the fact that Jews were doing this because the spirit of God was not yet given them (John 7:39)? In light of the fact that in the Old Testament, God only dwelt in temples made with hands because the Spirit was not yet inside of the people, but today, God does not dwell in temples made with hands, because the Spirit of God dwells within our bodies? If you attend church, have you been trained to search the Scriptures to find the answers to such questions as these (Acts 17:11), or do you need to ask your pastor?
Aww....be at peace, CJ. :(

Well, I thought my response was hilarious!   I really am laughing all by myself here at that one.

Nah, actually my childhood library consisted of the timeless collection known as Little Golden Books...my favorite being Nurse Nancy.  ....still love to play naughty nurse too!

I already said my peace up top
but you really shouldn't talk bad about someone you don't know. Everyone has their limits.
Mine is the same way, and yes I lie to keep the peace - sm
all the time. I have a whopper I am hiding from him right now that if/when he finds out it will either result in physical violence for which I will call 911 assuming I am able to, or divorce or both. Luckily my deceit does not weigh heavily on me or I might go crazy; I can hold a secret w/o any guilt, most people cannot and have to tell someone, I never have and never will. He freaks out as well over the d*u*m*best things and is calm over things I think are quite serious. I do wonder if he may be borderline bipolar, he is depressed and knows it but refuses to do anything about it. So our marriage has been slowly dying, though lately he has been trying for us (just the 2 of us) to do more together which is odd and surprising, and no he is not cheating though he had plenty of opps with travel and out of the house a lot; he is just to disease fearing and lazy too pursue an affair, plus he knows if I ever caught wind of one his life as he knows it would be over. I say it is okay to deceive to keep the peace, just don't trip yourself up and don't do it in front of the kids.
Rest in Peace,
Oh NO! I didn't know. I am devastated!

Rest in peace, Fred!
We just put our 22-year-old cat, Fred, to sleep this evening. He had wasted away from 17 pounds to 5 pounds and was too weak to stand or eat. He was a loving companion for the past 22 years and will be missed dearly.

Rest in peace, Fred. Benny, Gus, and Lily will be waiting in heaven to greet you with open arms!

You're right there, I think real peace of mind is being able to go to bed and......sm
not only have a warm bed and a home, with food in your tummy, but also knowing that you can at least pay for heat, electricity, and food, your essentials. Any more than that is nice, but how much more?? Once you get into that "gotta have" endless cycle, it is just not worth it, it is all just "stuff" that can be gone in half a heartbeat! God bless all. I am really praying every day for those who are looking for work, my husband and I have been there, it is a heartsick and frightening situation. Don't give up, anybody!!!{{}}

Google post tubal peace of mind syndrome
Nah, just kidding but I had a tubal at age 29 after my second child, knew definitely did not want another, had always said no children at all after 30 and that is what I did. Never had the first problem with it. I would not try to talk a guy into a vasectomy if he had any drawback to it because lots think it somehow takes menhood away and men can be such big babies to start with sometimes.

Can anyone walk me through this?
I just got an ipod today and cannot get songs to download.  I purchased some songs, and they are downloaded onto my computer, but I can't seem to get them onto my ipod.  Could someone please walk me through step-by-step to do this?  When I click on file, then copy to device, it tells me no device is detected, even though I have the connection to the computer and to the ipod.  Help, please!!
That's exactly why I won't walk our dog

My husband and I have a golden retriever/lab mix.  I am not an animal lover but do have compassion for animals.  My husband is the animal lover.  If my husband is out of town on business, I will not walk the dog.  Just the smell of dog doo makes me gag and vomit.  I will, however, let the dog loose in our yard and watch her to make sure she stays in our yard while she exercises, but I will not walk her because I wouldn't be able to clean up any messes.

As for fines, I would imagine there is some sort of punishment in our small town and I think there should be across the board.  Our dog is trained to do her business in 1 area of the yard that my husband picks up weekly before mowing the grass.  If I find doo anywhere else in my yard, I am not happy.  We have 3 kids who like to run and play and know to stay out of the dog's area.  Having to clean off their shoes because someone else was lazy with their dog infuriates me.

Way to go NY!!!!! Hope it comes to my hometown soon!

Been there - I just cut them off and out of our lives!
Don't feel any bit of guilt either. My in-laws, the whole bunch of them, are just nasty, evil people and I refuse to be around them. My kids don't even want to be around them. If my hubby wants, he can go by himself, but he doesn't even want to be around them. It took a lot of hurt, and evil doings for me to get this way, but I am here and will never have them as part of my family ever again!

I am Thankful they are out of our lives!
if one lives to be even 80 though...
At 50, that's still 30 years to go...a lifetime! Guess it's a relative question and I will be looking forward to your responses!
I am the one who lives in FL from below.
You are exactly right. We got hit by Charley and then once repaired, policy was cancelled, thru the bank no less!
i try to walk more than a mile a day

How much did you walk? Every day? How many miles - sm
I have 60-80 to lose (80 pound weight loss being my HS/college weight) and cannot exercise right now except for walking (hurt my arm/shoulder). Since I cannot go to Curves right now until my shoulder is diagnosed and healed (will know the verdict Friday) I plan on getting into a walking plan right now since the weather has finally turned beautiful and am going to try to walk off at least 20 pounds before my OB/GYN appt in 5 weeks. Since you had so much success in 6 weeks of walking, I'd love to know the how much and how often you walked. TIA.
I walk to her videos too!

I have this one where they sing this "power walk" mantra in the background when it starts out.  Then I have that song in my head the whole day!  I think I'll just plug in my little MP3 player instead and find tunes that match the different paces, because although I enjoy the video immensely, that "music" has just gotta go!  Oh, if you walk to her videos where she uses something called a "stretchy band," I found a 3-pack in varying resistance strengths at Walmart for $5.00.  Total deal.

my guess is they take you for a walk!!
what a handful! But cute!

Autism Walk

Hello everybody,

I'm going to be walking for Walk Now For Autism on Sep. 20th of this year. It is a ways away but since this is such an important subject for me i'm trying to get started as early as i can. If you'd like to check it out, register yourself in a city near you, or donate, you can check out my website on their website:

I appreciate your time,

Tanya

get out of the house and go for a walk
or a bike ride or a picnic. Sometimes I go outside and talk on the phone or watch my kids play. The point is to get out of the house and be outside.
This is a joke, right? Your son LIVES with her,
and you wonder about any of this? Give me a break! If the coach were God Himself, that would be no excuse to hand over your mothering duties and your son to someone else, let alone someone you think is a B. Give me a break. What is wrong with you?

But no matter where she lives, she is still
just not that pretty and I personally would not want to be her, no matter where she lives. I love my neighborhood and I don’t have man hands, huge teeth, watermelon head, toothpick body and no one has ever complained about my voice. I do not like her show at all.
...though it won't be soon as he still lives here, but possibly not

My MIL lives about 1/4 mile from me, and . . .

right now she is on a cruise, and I can't hardly stand it!  She and I are best friends.  I absolutely LOVE her.  We are very much alike in our thinking . . . most of the time.  Even when we don't agree, we still manage to talk about things and agree to disagree.  I know I have a real treasure in her.  In my book, MILs can be wonderful.  I know that isn't the case for everyone, but I know it is very, very possible.

When my MIL gets back home on the 15th, I'm going to be extremely happy!

I meant lives near me - sorry. NM

I can ask my mom who lives there (just got off the phone, actually). sm
I do know that in the summer, the highs are around 70s or so. Does not get much higher than that. A Big Mac and fries with drink in Alaska (Anchorage) will run you about 6.00 w/o tax.

My mom received an expensive gift card for the doc she works for - for Nordstrom Dept. Store. Instead of spending it in Alaska, she is coming to Texas next month and thinks she will get double for her money at the Nordstrom's here.

They just bought a 4 BR/2BA home in the town of Palmer, AK (about an hour from Anchorage?) and they paid 200,000 for it. BUT, they are now selling their home and moving BACK towards Anchorage as she realized she cannot drive in the winter that far to work! She makes 22.00 an hour running a doctor's office. My dad works for the prison system and they are doing VERY WELL. He is retired A.F. She NEVER complains about money - like how much things costs. If anything, she says, "boy it's nice not to have to worry about money!"

Every year residents get a "dividend" check for a couple thousand dollars from the oil companies, too, from what I understand.

If you are a woman, Alaska is a WONDERFUL place to live, from what I hear. My mom and dad are still young (in their late 40s - early 50s) and my mom says that dad brings home "friends from work" and the way she puts it, if I were single and visiting I wouldn't be single for very long! Plenty of good looking, hard-working men and not enough women...........My mom has a weird sense of humor, but she's not kidding!

Of course, you MUST love the outdoors if you live there. My dad is constantly shoveling snow and working on their vehicles - at least 7 months out of the year, preparing them for the cold. He just bought himself a new snowmobile and he is an avid hunter and salmon fisherman. My mom is outdoorsy too, so it works well for them. I have no plans on visiting any time soon. I enjoy not having to deal with snow where I am at.

I hope this helps you a little bit. The further you go from the city the cheaper the housing. My parents want to move back to Eagle River,AK, but don't think they could get a decent house for the price they are asking in that particular area.

I'll tell you this. If I were going to move there I certainly wouldn't go far from Anchorage unless you want to live in the middle of nowhere! At least in Anchorage (or near Anchorage), you have full access to the airport where you could get on a plane and get away if you need to which is what my mom does often. I see her "all the time" even though she lives there. She flies out a lot! And that is because no one in the family goes to visit them.......Hope this helps!

FIL lives with us & his will be with his May check sm
The notice about the deposit said that it was going to be deposited separately but at the same time as his regular SS check, which is the 4th Wednesday of the month because of when his birthday falls.
Your choice is to walk through the smoke.

People are made to smoke outside the store, can't smoke inside.  Smoking is not against the law.  I think people with body odor/bad breath smell way worse than people smoking.

don't have a *choice* to walk through smoke--sm
if you want to get out of or into the store. If someone HAS to smoke...go to your own car where it does not infringe upon someone else's right to not have to breathe it in and contract lung cancer. Body odor and bad breath do not inflict death and are easily taken care of with personal hygiene. Second hand smoke is just plain inconsiderate of others' health, but then why would you care about that. right?
you are not a pain....you need to go to walk-in clinic

Sunday walk in the park
DH and I were walking the dogs in a small park yesterday and a reddish bird swooped in front of us. It was the same color as a thrasher, but since he landed on a nearby tree limb I stopped to check. It was a tiny owl. Apparently an Eastern screech owl. They are common yet rarely noticed, so we thought it was really neat. The dogs never reacted to him at all, and the owl seemed as curious about us as we were about him. Our faces were maybe 4 feet from him.
Do you have any walk-in clinics instead of the ER? SO much quicker to be seen. Is
