Like you said, people who only use time-outs and talks most of the time have children who grow up to be disrespectful and smart-mouthed. I just see so many teens and young people who act SO mean and so crappy to their elders these days and it just makes me sick. They were never taught to respect anyone. If I would ever have talked to someone when I was little the way I see kids do these days, I would have gotten my rear busted. But honestly, it is just plain respect and common sense you have to instill into your child for them to understand and treat people the right way. It is sad to say, but some parents these days don't care.
