a 1994 Subaru wagon hubby drives to work, 25 to 30 mpg, he put a new engine in it a couple of years ago when it had 160,000 miles on it. He loves it. I have a 2002 Explorer with 156,000 miles on it, we drive it cross country at least once a year and it is our main vehicle. Hubby keeps it in excellent condition, it looks great, runs great too. We will not get a new vehicle for at least 2 years, and then we will not buy brand new. No car payment is fabulous! We could care less about keeping up with the Jones' car wise. We know too many people with brand new vehicles with 400 to 600 dollar a month payments, and of course both husband and wife have to have a new car, or worse yet, we know people who lease their vehicles. Yikes!
