not everyone wants to spend every minute with someone besides their immediate family.

I love my mom, too, but I do not feel the need to take her on every vacation or every trip I go on, and I certainly don't expect her to invite me everywhere she goes.

Neither of us have hurt feelings over it either. We do not owe our parents our lives just because they are our parents and not spending that one week with her is not going to make or break their great memories when her mother is gone.
