time changing? Eastern

Was Eastern time delayed for some reason- my regular clocks on the eastern and 2 clocks fell back an hour? What is happening?

sorry, you must be in a different time zone from me (sm)
My mother used to heat towels and that helped.  You can use sweet oil (which is olive oil) in her ear, warm it a little first (not hot) and give her Motrin.
Arizona does not participate in daylight savings time. NM

And it is still snowing. We may have had another 2 inches since I posted this morning. Will have to take some pics and post when it stops snowing. IF it stops! :)
How about zone 8

Hawaii.

Hawaii
1st choice - Hawaii
2nd choice - anywhere on the ocean.
3rd choice - Vegas
They will soon have a zone designated for this.

My Gators are going to Arizona
My Gators are going to Arizona on 1/8/07 to play Ohio State for the National Championship!!!!!! I am so excited!

(Honestly, after watching OSU play this season, I've got serious doubts if we'll beat them, but hey - it's not every year you get to play for the ring!)

Who will be watching with me??????

What bowl game are you excited about and when is it?

I am looking forward to the Sugar Bowl, as well, because I'm a Notre Dame fan, too.

I may be wrong, but did not Arizona also
decide they would not have day light saving time? I thought them but could be another state. Maybe they just like to opt out on most things.
You have to admire Arizona.
A state that opts out of daylight savings time! Love that.

That is where my sister lives. I wish my state would opt out of daylight savings time.
Northern Arizona
Hi Jaime! Where abouts in northern Arizona? I ask because I think the northern area is soooo beautiful. My husband, son, and I love to spend time in Sedona every year, and would love to live there.
The Arizona Cardinals -- but man I was
hoping for the Eagles to play the Steelers -- can't help it -- I'm in PA.
Did you live in Hawaii or vacation there?

Nothing short of a miracle would have to happen in order for me to ever see Hawaii--is it as beautiful as it looks on television?  I just imagine it smelling like saltwater, orchids, moss, and Hawaiian Tropic suntan lotion.  Lucky you to know what it's like!  I'm jealous!

No noise at all. Can't get into 'the zone' with other

Anyone been to a wedding on the beach in Hawaii? Need help w/ MOB dress.

I have already posted this on another board, but I need all the suggestions I can get, and I appreciate any and all help.

My friend has asked me to help her shop for a mother of the bride dress. She really has no idea what she wants to look for, and she has done no looking on her own. We are going to go shopping not this weekend but next. The bride said for her to just pick out a simple dress. The wedding is mid March, on the beach, and they say the temperature is 70s-80s year round there (I wouldn't have known this myself LOL). I don't know the colors they are using yet, but I'm sure she does by this time.

What kind of style should we look for? MOB is 48 years old, slightly overweight but not terribly so, and relatively conservative. Any suggestions? Thanks!  Y'all seem to have great taste.

Zone 7 blue hummingbird favorite
is this black and blue salvia. It is gorgeous and hummingbirds love it, so it's really great if red doesn't work with your colors but you want hummingbirds. Bumblebees love it too. I have it in part shade between the house and my winter daphne bush. No other support needed, but it's about 30 inches tall its second year in this raised garden facing south.

My ex stepdad went to HS with Bette Midler in Hawaii. This is sm
the same guy who had minor roles on Hawaii 5-0. Very tall, athletic, and handsome fella. Horrible husband and stepdad. He tried to get married while STILL married to my mother! He was a creep!

I also have a cousin in HI who constantly skipped school to go boogieboarding and was constantly getting in trouble. This same cousin is a millionaire a few times over after getting sponsors, winning surfing contests, and now he has his own board - The Custon X Board. I heard he now is into making bodysuits for surfers and boogieboarders all over the world! We were so close growing up - and then lost contact.....
agree. I was rased in a battle zone -
it scared the crap out of me and it was daily. To this day, I aim to please (him) to keep the peace, and never achknowlede what I might want. If there is an argument - I end up doing it like my parents...poorly.

When my parents finally split, I remember life being calm and I didn't live in fear anymore.

I agree. I posted below about living in the battle zone -
If my parents would have had counseling, I might have been given a better example of how to disagree constructively and carried that forward in my life. Counseling is for getting through anything, you name it. Divorce too.

(your kids might need a place to voice themselves other than you, too.)
I had a similar thing happen on I-40 in Arizona once - sm
I was driving from SF to New Mexico, and since I hadn't been on I-40 before, it was all new to me, and I wanted to keep going. I dumbly passed the last town for MILES, and then it was dark. Was dead-tired, but had to keep going. I kept hallucinating and seeing people standing by the road, and also animals - cows, horses, bears, etc. I'd look once, think I saw it, then look again and it'd be gone, or else be a cactus or a rock or something. (Those saguaros DO look alot like people!). Further down the road I passed a yellow sign that said 'Watch For Animals', and remember thinking to myself, 'Wow! I guess someone else has been hallucinating, too!'

Not surprisingly, that very next morning is the day I first started drinking COFFEE.
It's Friday in Indiana nm

Indiana taxes
A family I know in Fort Wayne area had taxes double this year since annex of Allen County to Fort Wayne. What can I say, welcome to my world in New Jersey (12,000 for property taxes in a townhouse with no backyard)
Indiana here and boy did I feel it!
I suddenly had a "vibrating bed" for two minutes!

You didn't say how old she is though, so that might not be the problem. Just sayin'
nothing - it is almost 70 already. Gonna be a nice 80-degree day! I love Arizona!

East Central Indiana

It probably was from a Band Booster fundraiser. Remember the band contests at the State Fair?

It would actually be more appropriate to say it was in East Central Indiana - Muncie-Anderson area.

I felt the earthquake in Indiana sm

It was really scary.  My daughter was upstairs while I was downstairs working.  It woke her up and scared her to death.

Earth Quake...NC Indiana
I live in north central Indiana, and slept right through it. When my sister got to work her boss was talking about it. What was it rated? I haven't heard.

Blizzard-like conditions here in Indiana. Level II. SM
Level II means no cars on road unless absolutely necessary. My son was sent home from work. Calling for 8-10 inches of snow. It's the blowing snow that is dangerous.
It was national news about Indiana's tax increase!
I read that they were increased between 30-60%! And the state's spending increased by about 30%. So, they spend more, and the average Joe gets screwed.

I'm not saying it won't happen here, but we're on 3/4 acre, and our taxes (property and house) was about $280. for the year. I thank God for that!
I felt it here in NE Indiana for about 10-15 seconds, rattled the windows and shook the couch. nm

Yep, we have it in our area.
Central PA, lots of Pennsylvania Dutch. My husband's family owns a butcher shop and they make and sell a lot of scrapple.  I personally don't like it.  And yes, I do believe it is made from scraps.  I can double check if anyone REALLY wants to know.  LOL!
I don't know what area you are from, but..
around here you can buy gift cards from grocery stores that give gas perks and earn points towards getting cheaper gas. A lot of them sell a wide variety of giftcards.
KC area
We live in the Kansas City area, my daughter's school had a threatening note found in the bathroom, now have metal detectors and police on campus, another county close by had all schools shut down due to bomb threat, but get this, the person suspected is not a kid, he is 47 years old. In the last 1-1/2 days, have had 4 schools in this area shut down because of bomb threats. It is getting too scary to even send your child to school, can you imagine what it is going to be like in another 10 years?
NMB area, what area are you in..?

Don't know if available in your area but...
you may want to check at your local WalMart for a NET 10 phone.  In our area the NET 10 is a lot cheaper, .10 a minute compared to .25 a minute, and NET 10 and Trac are both made and serviced by the same company.  May be different in your area, but worth a look?  We tried the Trac phones first because we did not know about NET 10.  The NET 10 phones are much better quality, they cost just a little more, and they seem to pick up in more areas, we have a lot of mountains.  You can even go to the website and buy minutes, NET10.com.  With the prepaid phones, it sure teaches the kids how to manage minutes, they hate to carry my phone if they run out.  Costs me about $15.00 a month per phone because once the minutes are up, they have to wait until new airtime is due to get more minutes.  Trac and NET 10 both do roll over unused minutes not used when you buy new airtime.  Even our local dollar store carries the airtime cards, and once set up it is easy to add minutes.  Just make sure you add minutes by the due date or you have to call the company and have the phone reset.  That can be a pain.
area
It was at a place called Riverside park in a very populated area.
I'm in FL too but in an area where they don't do this.

I'm in Miami-Dade for 30 years and they don't paddle here in the public schools nor do they make you write 100-200 times the same sentence.  Yes, the school system after elementary school is absolutely awful here, but they don't paddle.  My kids went through the entire system here and came out FINE....though the entire time, even in elementary school, there were 40+ kids in every classroom....and is another reason why the system here is awful.....My kids were never late to school and got awards for attendance until getting to HS.  Things changed then but they got over it and are pushing 30 and are well-rounded hard-working individuals.....Their best education was obtained in the home, I must say in this particular case.  *grins*

No! That sounds too desperate. TIME. Just give it TIME. If it is real, then sm
something will definitely evolve. If you like him, flirt back! Don't act desperate because if he DOES like you, then the suspense will just make him want to get to know you more. Trust me on this.

I worked in the medical records department of a hospital when I was single and dated a few co-workers in my early 30s. It was fun. Nothing serious came about any of the relationships.

This sounds like fun - the beginning of maybe something to come....Keep us informed.
