I'm so sorry to hear about your little doggy, my friend also lost his little dog to being hit recently, he was also tore up about it, but told me that my not knowing has to be worse because at least he can say his goodbyes and have closure to heal.

I never heard about a dog "going off" until I saw Marley & Me the other day, which had me BAWLING at the end, and then now you all...so of course, I googled it, ha. Apparently it happens a lot. I hope he returns to us, but if not I hope if he went to go to doggy heaven that he was able to pass peacefully. There are a lot of deer in our parts and other creatures that get hit, so, and I know this is morbid, but every time I pass something hit on the road, I look to see if it is my dog, and I feel relief when I see its not him. I swear that has to be twisted in some way.
