Not a feel good movie...
Identity...seen it hundreds of times.  I dumped Vince Vaughn for John once I saw this movie.
Wow!! You should feel very good about that!! That is a wonderful accomplishment! nm

Thank you. Yes, she has had a wonderful life.
She knows she is loved, but still so, so hard. Just very difficult today, but as time goes by it will be easier.
You are happy and have a wonderful life? You sure

I feel like I am in an Alfred Hitchcock movie, The Birds.
I am sitting here at home, at my desk, and a bunch of black birds are flying past my window.  When I got up to look out my window, and my front entire front lawn and side lawn are covered with black birds.  Glad I am not in a phone booth.  Very strange to have so many of them in one place.  Guess they are getting ready to go south for the winter, but today it feels like a muggy summer day, 70 degrees at 9 a.m. in northern NJ.
a good movie with a good lesson

Good for you:-) We have a wonderful...
lunch lady as well. She works hard to make everything healthy and enjoyable for the kids. I don't think she always gets her "bonus" for making it under the lowest budget, but she does a great job managing the food for our children---and we really do appreciate it!!

never saw that movie. Good one!!
that was fun - and look at this thread! popular
This is actually a VERY GOOD movie. (sm)
If kids were acting out it was because of boredom...LOL.  It's a very serious movie and definately worth seeing.....be sure to bring the Kleenex.
Real good movie.

Yes, it was made in India and based in India and revolves around the lives of 2 little boys, Salim & Jamal, and Jamal's friend/love interest, Latika.

There were subtitles, but some of the movie is in English. The movie is filled with lots of drama/action as you follow the kids throughout their childhood and numerous events they overcome.

I found some situations disturbing, while other situations had me laughing.

I would definitely watch it again.
Yes, guilt is my downfall. Now, I feel guilty because she has no life survival skills because I have
done everything for her...so now I blame myself about how she will survive because she has no idea what to do. I guess I didn't have anyone leading my way. I've been on my own since I was 16 years old and I made it okay.  She calls me for EVERYTHING..how do I do this.. how do I do that and I know now it's time just to let her fall because she'll never learn how to pick herself up if I keep doing it. That's the hardest teacher..falling on your face. She even said that she feels different because she doesn't know anything other kids her age know how to do.. That right there should have made me STOP.. I have not done her any favors..When I thought I was helping her, I was just making it worse and enabling. I'm done with it. Thanks for listening.
Was it a good movie? I hope to go this weekend. nm

ok sk8girl, the window is wonderful and a really good thing

for your eyes.  If you focus near and then you can focus out a window, you will save your eyes and type for about 20 more years than you would without a window. I lost my window and my eyes followed close behind.  I love that you all have the same stacks of books I do, same bowl of almost food, required coffee mug and the fact that it looks like we all spend our lives right in that chair.  ha ha.

I really am happy for you that your life is good (sm)
But who knows if mine would really end up better if I left? It might not. It might be worse.
glad you had a good life

Does life in prison sound good to you? I would
xx
Sounds good to me. I am going to get in that car and go or go with a travel group. Life is too

short to wait around on other people for whatever.  Probably plenty of people to talk to.  I just got out of the habit of going alone actually and it is time to get back into it.  Sometimes I agree you go with people and spend more time worrying if they like where you wanted to go than doing what you want.  Yep I am going to go for it.

Feel good jars...
My son gave this to me years ago, and it is the most touching gift I've ever received.

Cut some wide strips of colorful paper, and have the kids write something about why they love the parents on each one (I love it when you read to me, I love your hugs, etc.)

Put those strips inside a small Mason/canning jar.

Replace the removable flat part of the lid with a square piece of pretty fabric and then use the "ring" part to screw it on.

Tie a ribbon around the jar with a card attached that says:
When you're feeling blue,
And you don't know what to do,
You don't have to look far,
Just open this jar,
And see how much I love you!
Made me feel good anyway - sm
I can see where the girl gets it though. Really pathetic.

They moved in a couple houses down about 2 years ago and I started locking my front door not long after.

All the neighbors had a BBQ party one night not long after they moved and that is when we all got a taste of how their house is run. The husband seems like a nice guy and I actually pity the poor man.

We are in the front yard of another neighbor and the girl comes storming up to her mom whining about not having something, think it was about a water gun or something. Anyway, the mom looks at dad and I am NOT kidding... she said, "Dale, what are you going to do about this?"

She wanted him to drop everything and race to get her a bigger one... AND HE DID! The girl was what.. 13 then? Give me a break!

Not long after, the girl started coming over unannounced, uninvited, and would just walk right in and make herself at home. Go through the fridge, turn on the television, you name it.

Thought, okay, the kid is rude. Then her mom came over one day did one of these tricks of opening up the door without knocking and saying "Knock Knock! ANYONE HOME?" As she is walking into my kitchen in the BACK of the house. She started doing this often enough that I started keeping the door locked.

She also will stand out in your yard and, while she's talking to you, her little precious dog poops. She simply says, Oops! but leaves the POOP right where it lands!

Grrrrrrrrrrrrr

You are right! I feel really good today
for the first time in a really, really long time! I suggest it to anyone, except put it on your schedule first so you don't miss anything good. LOL. :)
Feel Good Story

I wanted to share a feel good story with you from our local paper.  Have a great Monday and Wonderful Week

OMAHA, Neb. -- Drivers who saw $2,500 in cash blow from a motorcyclist's open pocket Thursday pulled over, collected 24 of the hundred-dollar bills and waited for his return as others tracked him down.

The unlikely payback had the motorcyclist feeling "blessed," and, perhaps more importantly, able to pay his bills.

Anthony Burres was headed south on 132nd Street between Dodge and Pacific streets when the bills began to fly.

"I didn't have my side hip-pocket zipped up and my wallet fell out, and it's like $2,500 in cash just flying all over the street," Burres said.

Burres got to Center Street before realizing he was being chased.

His headphones made him oblivious to his expensive mile.

A witness finally got his attention at the intersection of 132 and Center streets. They headed back to the scene.

"I finally get back here and it's like four lanes of traffic of cars stopped just dead in the street, picking up money, and I'm like, 'Aw man, no way,'" Burres said.

But it was real. Burres got $2,400 back.

Eight to 10 people handed him the money.

He was down one bill.

He's not missing the pocketed $100.

"I can still pay my bills. That's real good for me," Burres said.

He said the first person to stop probably pocketed the cash. But he said that's OK -- that person probably needed the cash.

How wonderful
You have a great brother...and he must feel he has a great sister :)

Have a great Thanksgiving!!!

Wonderful!
You have a right to be proud! Lots of teenagers are really caring and so sensible. Speaks loudly of how he was raised. GOOD FOR YOU!
Isn't wonderful to know there are still some wonderful
teenage boys out there. My son just turned 17 and he sounds a lot like your son. He loves so many of our Christmas traditions, but at the same time is a typical teenage boy. My son loves to cook and loves to help decorate, just don't tell anyone.
Wonderful - thanks

That is wonderful - thank you very very much. I am sending to all my family and freinds.
Wonderful! I have all I need and most of what I want.
NM
Wonderful!
Thanks for the tip. I'll have to watch for it.
This is wonderful.

I forget the man's name right off the top of my head, but he has a book about this; ironically enough you can "charge it on your card" to purchase!  So, kind of funny there!  I checked out the book at the library instead, figured out what to do, and still have not gotten around to it.  I need to get it all down on paper, and I've asked for $200.00 a month extra from hubs for what he gives me towards bills (he pays our entire mortgage) and I tend to to take care of the rest.  However, he does put his own gas in the car and treats us for different odds and ends, fast food, movie night, day at the beach, you get the picture...

The only problem I see with this is the way I get paid.  I am an IC.  I only have one online company that truly pays me on time.  My other accounts I bill every other week but they don't always pay right away (could be a week lag sometimes) and another I only get once a month.  Also, the work fluctuates.  So, I may make $1.400.00 a month with one account but if the docs go on vacation, that can bring it down to say $600.00 a month.

So while your plan, I agree, is wonderful and yes it does work, and yes I'm going to give it a try, doesn't always pan out "budget wise" income wise for me personally being an IC and having fluctuating work.  I might add the online company I range anywhere from 14,000 to 20,000 lines a month given the work is there, I work from a pool; no line quotas, and no set schedule.  So, I need to be on my toes to grab the work.  I do have a lot of accounts to choose from, but when I go out twice a week to pick-up work, I am away from the computer, hence losing some of those jobs I could have grabbed.  I check all day long until 11 p.m. to make sure I take all that I can.

Sorry this is so long, but I think that's where I am so "floundering" on this "budget" thing where I am never sure if I'll have "my end of the budget" every month.  I don't have a set income, but I would not trade this profession for anything; been doing it 20 years, and love it and love being at home with the kids (school age), but still...

You tat - how wonderful
When my mom was alive she told my her aunt tried teaching her how to TAT but she would go so fast my mom couldn't keep up. I've got the tatting needle, shuttle and "tatting for beginners" book but I just was never able to get it. I do like to knit, though I have to admit the last time I knitted I was in 4H in school and made slippers.

I do cross stitch too.
Wonderful!
What an amazing testimony to God.
How wonderful, congratulations and wish you the best !!!!...nm

Wonderful news
What great news! I'm so happy to hear that you have a healthy baby. Good luck. It's too bad your first doctor had to scare you like that.
What a Wonderful Person
I wish I knew more people like you. It's too bad that some people are like this, but unfortunately the world is so much different thatit used to be. Keep doing what makes you happy.
Actually he is a wonderful father...
who takes time out of his sleep schedule to be with them, eat dinner with us, go to kids' sporting events and the usual things people do without missing a beat because everything works out for their schedule. People who sleep during the night have no clue how hard it is to sleep during the day when it is light out, loud noises outside like lawnmowers, snowblowers, leafblowers, construction and more than you could realize. Nobody schedules meetings at 1:00 am so you have to get up after a few hours. Going to church on Sunday with your family and having family day requires less sleep because he works Sat. and Sun. night.
I feel sorry for you that you can't have an open mind enough to see that not everybody has the same life, same feelings, same jobs. If I can make him more comfortable including having a dark bedroom then I will and I asked for help in achieving this goal, not to have someone who doesn't know him or our family come on here and insult us. Not once did I say this was something he told me to do or makes me do..I am doing it because I love him. If he gets home in time in the mornings he gets the kids ready for school. Marriage is about give and take.
what a wonderful post. sm
i've never experienced anything you have mentioned, but i think you are a very strong person for what you've been through and turning yourself around.  i'm sorry for what you've been through, but i'm glad that you have the faith to overcome.  just wanted  you to know i was touched by your post.  God bless.
What a wonderful tribute!

Not only to your husband, but also to your daughter for being able to express those feelings to him, and to you for having raised such a loving daughter.

I'm tearing up myself here....

U must be a wonderful person....
to have two such beautiful people in your life. Sounds like you have a great family!
Thank you all for the wonderful suggestions. sm
They are making me cry but they are good tears. Note to Lilly- my mother's grandmoter was named Lilly and my mother was especially close to her. If I had another daughter that would be her name.
