"Help"

I have treated my "help"  or subcontractors very well.  I more than bend over backwards to be flexible with their schedules and so on.  But I have been burned several times by them as they feel that the are the "help" and I am the owner so it is my problem as the business is mine.   And that is right, it is my name out there, I get the business and if things go down it is my business goes down.  But again, I cannot control how much the accounts dictate.   I only take 2-3 cents cpl for me which covers me picking up, printing and delivering tapes, invoicing, QA and so on.  But in this day and age I cannot charge the docs 15 cpl so I can pay someone 11 cpl.  I pay my gals 8.5 to 9 cpl per gross line and charge 11 to 11.5 to the docs.   But I am tougher than I used to be and if you commit to doing a job you better do it.   But again I cannot control the the amount that comes in that is completely out of my control and so there will be slow days and there will be heavier days.  But also cannot bring on more than we can do either as if we don't produce we will lose the account anyway and again it is my business name that is on the line not my "help".    I have been on both sides of this business and until you walk in the shoes of the owner, don't speculate that they have any control over the volume of work that comes in as we don't.    And just as many times our computer might go down, how often have I been called to say -- "I will be late with the work as I just lost everything" or "My computer just crashed".

Word usually has really good "help"...sm
Word has a really good "help" function. You can usually just type in a few key words of what you are wanting to accomplish and the program will find matching "help" topics to figure it out. For example, if I were trying to convert something from Word to WordPerfect, or the other way around, I would type in either "WordPerfect" or "Conversion" or something along those lines. Then, try and find the matching "help" topic that will benefit you the most. Hope this helps!!!
Disregard that "help please", forgot to change the name.
