Hi. I have been through hurricane Isabel, which was far less in intensity than Katrina. I experienced the horror it created in an aftermath, and hold the emotional scars to this day. I will never forget the god awful power of those winds. I feel tremendous compassion for those left in ruins. I understand their plight. and their feelings of hopelessness. FEMA never came to the aide of the Isabel survivors either. Blame lies with those who "never thought" it would amount to anything. NEVER underestimate the power of mother nature. Never! but to those people who ever thought those levees would hold back a hurricane surge....what were they thinkin?!!! a city that is built below sea level is just asking for the disaster to devastate them. Why on earth ANYONE on the coastal waters would want to build anything there, is beyond me. They know the potential and then cry in their beer when it happens. Stupid! Stupid! Stupid! but my heart goes out to those who survived. I just hope our goverment provides for their changed lives. They never did with mine! God Bless all of you!
