Asheville-tornados. We have had sm

three tornados already this year. Very rare for us though. I came from Michigan where there are ALWAYS tornados and tornado warnings and I just got use to it. Was born and raised there and lived there til I was 30.

Yes, Asheville is pretty and truthfully that is the ONLY thing I can say good about it! It has gotten very "new agey" and crazy here. Lots of very strange folks living in this town. I was just at the Biltmore about a month ago. I keep a season pass. I live about 4 miles from the Biltmore.

Now my piece of heaven would be to move to Mt. Airy NC which is "Mayberry" basically. I love it down there.

Me and tornados
For some reason I think that since moving to my new home in 2004 and sitting higher on a hill, I am more of a bull's eye than when I was not on a hill? I know, sounds strange but... I watch local news very seriously when they tornados around here and last year my turn off street mentioned on news, too close for comfort and the cats and I went for the hall bathroom. I would think Mt. Airy a little on the pricy side also. What I love most about my smaller town is the service. Going thru any gov service in Atlanta is the pits. Here just so laid back, no attitudes, great! Live right behind a major medical center so, of course, all doctors I could possibly need in the neighborhood. Instead of going halfway across town now (as when living in Atlanta) 5 minutes total to offices. That is priceless alone.
Asheville!
We are looking to move to Asheville to get away from our harsh winters. North Carolina sounds perfect weatherwise, in the mountain area anyway.

Getting my CMT is something I personally am glad I did, and though it did not give me any financial reward yet, having been stuck in one place for a long time, I have it in my pocket for when I move on. That feels like security.

you don't live in Asheville NC sm
do you? They are planning on building one down the street from me too. They just opened one on the other side of town several months ago. We don't need it, I don't want it and they are forcing a senior citizen trailer park to close and taking all that too. These folks can't afford to go anywhere else. I wish Walmart would get entirely out of the US!
I live in Asheville, NC part of the sm
smoky mountains. Where do you live in TN? Beautiful weather today!
Asheville is pretty town from what I saw
a few years ago, visited the Biltmore. That place is really old inside. When you retire, you can always come to my little piece of heaven. Only draw back I have to here is too many tornado warnings, watches and threatening of tornados. Just don't care for those!
The one thing about tornados is bang-bang
and they are done in less than a half hour--no walls of water, flooding, etc. You get the insurance company there the next day and can start cleaning up and rebuilding. No waiting for FEMA or goverment help.
