You obviously needed a new computer or you would not pay good money for one. I would not take it back. I would buy a medium sized hard drive and replace the hard drive that is currently in the computer or put in a program for a dual boot.

Put your current data on the new hard drive in the new computer using windows 2002 or whatever program you had before.

Keep the hard drive with the vista program in case you need it or can use it later on.

Your new computer is very powerful to handle Vista, so it will really speed up everything you had been working with before.
