Might try finding a company who uses this and see more and more do. One is DSG I think it was but might email them and ask

Another is Meditask -Cardiac unless has added more. Texas uses. Moretti Transcription Michigan does but difficult ESLs. Can Google and send email. Just watch the ad on MTstars and MTJobs (job sites)

DocQScribe platform
Is this an easy platform to learn? Productive? Fair reporting lines? I'm considering working for a company that uses this platform. Any input appreciated.
DocQscribe Platform
Does anybody know anything about companies other than MQ that use DocQscribe?
DocQScribe Platform Users

Does anyone use the DocQScribe platform and think the line count is correct?  When I worked at MQ, after switching to DQS, my line count went down, down, down.  They did later reimburse us for an inaccurate line count, but this makes me hesitate to work for any other company that uses DQS.

To anyone using this NOT working at MQ - it is set up so you can only get 2 jobs at a time and when you sign off your job it is automatically sent?  (I hated this feature at MQ) Would appreciate any comments about this.

DocQscribe Platform and Medical Spellchecker.
I absolutely hate the spell check on DocQScribe and wondered if any one knows if it is possible to get another spell checker to work with it. I have Sylvan Software's Medical Spell Checker and love it in Word. I also have their Shortcut word Expander and that works in the platform automatically. It would make my life so much easier if I could get the spell checker to work. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
DocQscribe Platform and Medical Spellchecker.
Does anyone know if it is possible to get a different spellchecker to work with DocQscribe? I have one from Sylvan Software that I love and I hate the one in DQS. I also have Sylvan's Shortcut word Expander and that works automatically with DQS.
Does Dictaphone footpedal work with DocQScribe platform?
If not, know where I can find a reasonable universal footpedal?
Could someone tell me something about how DocQScribe works......
Just wondering
Speedtype works fine w/docQscribe
They told me it wouldn't work, but one day I opened it just to see and I'll be darned if it didn't sort of "take over" in place of the expander that's in DocQScribe! Now I have all the work I've already done in my own expander and it works just fine! Glad I didn't listen to them (my employers)
Instant Text works with DocQscribe

If you want to use your Smartype list in DocQScribe you can use Instant Text. With a few clicks the Instant Text Importer converts your Smartype files into Instant Text glossaries ready to be used in DocQscribe.

Instant Text works with EMDAT's platform
Inscribe as it does with eScription's platform editScript.

No adjustments are necessary. You just link Instant Text a first time to these platforms and from then on IT links automatically.

If you have a ShortHand spf file you can easily convert it to an Instant Text glossary.

DIALUP??

Please give me some companies that I can do QA or edit for?  thanks, I don't have broadband right now.

Dialup
I have actually had good luck my Earthlink dialup and have worked for two different companies without difficulty, but many of the jobs posted specify NO dialup or satellite.
Yes, there is on dialup internet. Is that what you use?

Call waiting can also affect it if you don't turn it off in your dialup settings.  Before I get technical, do you use dialup, DSL, cable or something else?

C-phone and dialup

Does anyone have any experience using a c-phone on dialup internet?  Any glitches or drawbacks?  Thanks.

dialup/satellite
Can I ask where did you get your satellite from? I too, live in the sticks and have only dialup. It sounds like dialup takes forever.
dialup/satellite
Thanks for the info. I notice a lot of companies won't allow satellite for security. Did you have to get additional spyware, antivirus, etc?
Anyone else still stuck with dialup?

Hello MTs

Is anyone else out there still stuck with dialup?  I am getting so frustrated with the long loading times.  I live in a rural area, and I cannot get DSL or cable.  Anyone have any other alternatives to slow internet?

Thanks.

Lynn

Dialup Internet (sm)

Any MTs left that only have dialup internet available to them?  Bellsouth said we would get it in 2-3 years (big wow).  I would like to change MT companies but cannot find anyone who accepts dialup internet.  I could probably get satellite but I notice many companies won't accept this either.  What's a girl to do?

I'm on dialup, no problems.
nm
Wildblue, dialup, etc. sm
How far are the trees away from your house? I have some trees to the south too but probably 500+ away. I had considered getting Wildblue. I'm stuck with dialup too and have lost accounts because I can't get high speed. It really limits things, but on the other hand a lot of companies don't allow satellite and I hate to invest that much money and then not be able to use it to work.
dialup vs satellite vs???
You certainly don't want satellite even if you could afford it.  Always out anytime there are clouds etc.  Itype is a very strange platform anyway.  I have worked on it numerous times.  What state are you in?  I think the best would be the air card on cell, if available and if affordable.  You may end up switching who you work for or where you are going to move... neither of which is desirable, I bet.
I believe accelerated dialup is just - sm
that graphics download faster, nothing to do with voice files. They just do not download the graphics with the normal clarity, they are fuzzier and not so precise. So paying more for accelerated will get you no where.
MTSO with platform versus no platform (big message)

If a MTSO advertises that the MT works in MS Word and sends dictation by FTP, does this usually mean there will be no demographic/doctor database and the demographics will not be autopopulated?

I got into a mess with a small company (got out real quickly too).  I was required to print out daily email copies of the doctors' office patient schedules (which were barely legible) and type in all information.  I spent more time hunting for the correct patient through pages and pages of these schedules.  Then I had about 25 pages worth of doctor's names that I would have to go through to find the attending, referring, etc.  A total waste of time as I didn’t get paid for that.

I wish MTSO would give more information as to what platform they use (if any).  Proprietary software is such a generic, totally useless description.  Would they buy a new car that listed, "Car has gasoline operated motor?"

And for Pete's sakes, why so secretive about the pay?  Give a ballpark figure.  Just say, pay is between 7-12 cpl depending on skill, testing, etc. Tell me if you pay for spaces, headers, etc.  It would save them time because I wouldn’t even apply for a 7 cpl job.

Before I spend an hour or two testing, I need more information from a company to be sure it is compatible for my needs.  If the MTSO would spend a little time on their website detailing their platform, how they send/receive files, pay rates,  how line rate is determined (spaces/no spaces) employee/IC/SE status, minimal line count, whether work pools consist of 100s of doctors, or smaller pools with 25-50 doctors etc.   Having all this information on their website would save them time and the MTs time.   Phoenix Medcom has a really good layout describing pretty much everything an MT would want to know before testing with them.  I am just tired of testing with a company and then finding out the job wasn’t exactly suited to my needs.

Jobs on dialup/satellie
Anyone know good companies that will hire MTs with dial-up...or satellite, & pay something towards internet connection (satellite very expensive).  I live in a rural area where cable & DSL not available.
I am probably going to be changing from dialup to DSL - just exactly what do I need - new modem? nm

Asking about dialup, work, jobs, etc. (SM)
If you are looking for a job, please read the job ads on the Job Seeker's board. The ads are very descriptive and have contact information for your convenience.

Otherwise, the Company board is for asking about a specific company (or companies).

Goldbird

Spheris has dialup and are decent enough
nm
I was always told that Editscript will not work with dialup.
I have worked on this platform for over four years and for a few different companies and not one of them every told me that dialup would work. Did you tell your employer that you had dialup?
i live way out in the country of GA, dont have dialup but
was lucky to have ATT serve this area. You must be moving way out if you cant get cable internet or DSL!!! Good luck Hon!!!
Platform versus non-platform (templates)?

I've been working for MTSOs for years now, using their templates which sometimes cause productivity problems (macro issues, etc). I'm wondering if productivity is increased when working on a structured platform, such as one that a national company provides for its transcriptionists?  I've never used a platform, but it would seem that all one needs to do is straight type onto the screen and the platform program takes care of margins, page breaks, etc?

Any thoughts (as well as companies who are hiring who use platforms) would be appreciated.  Thanks

There are some companies that offer dialup and C-phone connections. Try those! I'm in the count
x
I'm doomed with dialup, too. It's simply AWFUL!!! Bright House plans on sm

servicing my area soon, after March sometime.   My suggestion would be to bug whichever companies supply DSL or broadband in your area.  Be relentless.  This is 2006.  There is no reason to settle for dialup!!

I feel your pain.

Full Word is in the Works "Suite," not plain Works.
Works saves files in a different format, but you can open them in Word if you have the correct filter installed.
RIGHT!!! Someone who works 16 hours and someone who works 60 will have a HUGE difference. NM

DocQscribe
had any luck yet?  I'm thinking of getting a few hour's sleep and logging back on later.
docQscribe
Intellitype does
I'm on DocQscribe and I get
about 225 lines per hour; however, that is with 3 kids (2 little ones and 1 in school most of the time) so I think that slows me down -- waita minute, I ~know~ that slows me down. LOL.

Good luck!
DOCQSCRIBE
Does any one use DocQScribe for their home business?  Is this an expensive program to purchase?
New to Docqscribe....
How do you add a template?  I can add short phrases, but can't figure out how to get longer things in, like a paragraph or two.  TIA!
DocQscribe
I recently left MedQuist, and the only thing I miss is DocQscribe!

DocQScribe

I must admit, I also like DocQScribe.  I think there are a lot of advantages to it. It sure is better than what we used to have!!!

DocQscribe

I was wondering if you can explore DocQScribe without having jobs download?

Thanks.

IT DocQscribe
Hi all,
I'm currently job shopping and found a position that uses DocQscribe, but I was told that I can't use instant text, that I have to use what is provided inside of DQS. Can anyone give me some insight, is there a workaround?

DocQscribe and SH
Thank you so much!  I used SH in the past and found it was a lot faster than Instant Text and since my trial copy is already populated, should be on my way to more lph!
IT and DocQscribe
Make sure you are using release 5.44 of Instant Text V Pro.

DocQscribe expander
When I switched from MedRite to DocQScribe the tech in my office transitioned my entire glossary over to the new platform. I had to make a few changes, but very few.
Trouble with docqscribe
I can't log on either and I have been on hold with 888-dictate for over 45 minutes.
What I meant was DocQScribe

What companies besides MQ use DocQscribe? nm

Is DocQScribe the same thing - sm

DocQScribe system help

Anyone use ShortHand and docuscribe together?  With my old company i was using Word and shorthand.  I had a macro set up to take me from blank to blank.  I am lost on this new system.  Any ideas on how to set this up?  Thanks in advance!
