We also had problems with the IRS back in the late 90s and also had to BK, as they threatened us as well. We had no other choice at that time.

Anyway, your contacting the BK attorney is the right thing to do; he can advise you about the best thing to do, to keep you from getting into more trouble with the IRS. They have the power to do almost anything to get what they feel they are owed!! For our BK, we had included the unpaid taxes that we owed into the Chapter 13 and paid them off over a period of 3 years.

I wish you luck and hopefully all will work out for you. Going through this is not easy. I was a wreck for a long, long time. Although the BK was discharged in 2001, our 10 years will be up at the end of this year and hopefully, our lives will return to normal. Again, hang in there :)
