First of all...

HIPAA is not even being adequately enforced here in the US.  And, yes, there are facilities who seek out offshore transcription services.  It's not a secret.  As I said above, you need to educate yourself.  It is foolish to continue to live in the dark and believe that the majority of the medical community does not know about offshore medical transcription services.  Where have we MTs been all of these years while the offshore medical transcription industry was growing?  It is only now becoming a problem for MTs here in the US, but not because of security issues but rather we are afraid of losing our jobs.  Let's call it what it is.
