I have been doing transcription in this area for the last 20 years.  When working as a remote for hospitals I made 10-11 cents per line, but they tried to make us come in house, so I dropped them.  I now  work for an out of state small service who pays 11 cents.  I don't think you will find a service in this area that pays over 8-9 at the most.  Good luck to you!
I'm in fort worth!
How is the weather in Granbury?
Okay, I cry uncle!

I posted last week about how much help a company should give as far as samples and feedback while they are pushing you to do acute care.

I have spent all day struggling with consults for some of the worst authors I have ever had.  I finally asked my supervisor to send me some samples of this author stat because I won't even make my minimum line count.

She sent me 1 copy of his pacemaker implantation report and I couldn't even open it.

Now we have hit totally ridiculous!!

I think it was the mayor of Fort Lauderdale that I saw on TV.
He was going through where people could go for shelter, etc, how the government was prepared. BUT, he also POINTED OUT that it is an individual's RESPONSIBILITY to PREPARE for themselves. C'mon PEOPLE, RESPONSIBILITY is an individual thing. Why does everyone expect the GOVERNMENT TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THEM instead of PREPARING for THEMSELVES! This is probably the BIGGEST PROBLEM with America today. PEOPLE DO NOT WAHT TO BE RESPONSIBLE TO TAKE CARE OF THEMSELVES. It's so much easier to expect others to do it and complain and whine when they don't get what they EXPECT. THIS IS TRULY SAD FOR AMERICA!

Still here too!
Fort Worth/Dallas

I am a life long Texan, even born here, and so of course I am slightly prejudiced!   I cannot imagine living anywhere else.  I am 20 minutes from Dallas shopping and 10 from a new mall here.   The good part is - next week the temperature high is to be in the low 70's.   Also about 20 minutes from big lakes!   Good luck.

Wow! I know someone who did not pay taxes and Uncle Sam
forced bankruptcy and has a lien on future earnings and property. Don't know the tax bracket.
Every quarter pay $1,000 to Uncle Sam and $200 to state. nm

Live in Fort Collins, 60 miles N of Denver, Beautiful!
You can email me and I will answer your questions.  I can't speak for those who live IN Denver, but I know you need to watch out for certain neighborhoods, as you do anywhere you live.  I have a sister who lives SW of Denver, in the Littleton area.  She lives it.  Kathy :)
Wait until you get nailed on a 1099 form and uncle Sam

I briefly talked to my uncle, who is psychiatrist, about Tater. His recommendation was to take her
to a pediatric psychiatrist for a thorough evaluation and then the appropriate referrals and/or medications can be started. There has to be an indepth evaluation why Tater is the way she is. It could be that her mother was never abusive towards her, but it could be that Tater may be showing the early signs of schizophrenic disorder and what we perceive as lies to us are realities to her. At any rate, shipping the child off may not be the best answer, but to get her the adequate help. I feel for your friend, because it is not easy to deal with a "problem child" but now Tater's Daddy and your friend are legally responsible and accountable for the child.
I can speak from experience, when I was 11-yr, I had to attend my great-uncle's funeral and it wa
an open casket service.  Coming from a predominantly Catholic family, I was told that I had to pay my respects.  I can only tell you of the nightmares that I had for the next 2 weeks after that.  If she doesn't want to go, don't make her.  If the other family members feel it is unacceptable, that is their problem.  There are always other ways to pay respect.
