Happy New Year back at you! Have fun! We'll
be fine, won't we, folks?  Have a good time!
Happy MQer-Hurry, look out your back window!
I  see T.W.H. getting out of a lawn chair in your back yard and stealing your grill to cook up a Nathans Hot Dog.

Orthodox Easter
What a great celebration we have!  Our Easter falls after Western Easter (different calendar).  We take our food to church in a basket and have it blessed, then share and enjoy to break the fast.  The basket contains things that have meaning, i.e. a candle (Christ is the light of the world), eggs (new life), salt (salt of the earth), special bread (breaking bread), kolbassi or ham or both (breaking the fast having not eaten meat for 40 days), cheese (also breaking the fast of dairy product), honey (the sweetness of Christ is Risen),  red beats with horseradish (the bitterness of crucifixion), and various other items depending on what part of Eastern Europe you came from.  It is an incredible celebration.
Easter recipes sm
It is very difficult for me because my children married different faiths and it used to be that we (before they married) would go to church and then to a restaurant (our favorite) as a special treat for family style soup, salad and main course. Of course, the "new" family had to kill this plan since the other side did not like our Church. Too bad. I started to cook brunch after service which included: Coffee or tea, lots of different juices, bacon, ham (spiral), fried potatoes (home fries), waffles (finally woke up to buying prepared and frozen), lots of syrup, butter, fresh strawberries and blueberries, some favorites of the grandchildren (one liked cantaloupe, another's favorite was my homemade sugar cookies, another liked my peanut butter cookies). I cook for days but it's worth it. Know how I got rewarded? The "other" moms got so jealous, they started to offer "brunch" instead of the traditional dinner (ham and all the trimmings, sit-down style).. I was frustrated at this, but I still try. Why don't people realize that "life is temporary" - whatever works for you. Since someone "stole" my brunch idea, I offer nice foods still, at whatever time their schedule (allows) them to show up; not necessarily breakfast, but some rented "childrens movies" with no pressure. As long as we build it, they will come. However, my brunch was sooooo popular, I'm glad someone "stole" it from me. It's kind of like having MT account "stolen" from you, it's not the same quality, but you have to realize that copying you is a true compliment and you should enjoy it. BTW (by the way) I have a bit of Polish in me, so I thoroughly enjoyed the kielbasa aspect of Easter, I slice it up and cook it first in a little water to get rid of the grease. Then I recook it using currant jelly and slice it, put wooden toothpicks in there and let them munch. Easter should be fun, no matter what religion you are in or out of, "He" would just like you to have fun on His special day, or more especially a family day, never mind what you believe in or choose not to believe in. It's a fun day!!!
Easter dinner
Honey glazed ham, sweet potato soufle, corn, butterbeans, deviled eggs, sweet potato biscuits. Honeybun cake for desert. Yummy~
Passover and/or Easter....*S*....sm
Whichever you celebrate, just want to wish everyone a happy Spring holiday season!!  Passover commences Wednesday 4/12 evening, and Easter Sunday is this upcoming Sunday!!  Enjoy!!!
Easter Dinner
Hi there...We usually make a smoked ham for dinner with potatoes, carrots and angel biscuits but this year my kids want an Italian Easter. So I guess I'm going to be making lasagna and a side salad with garlic bread. We also make my grandmother's homemade Italian sesame seed cookies, coosidadas and amaretti cookies. Have a great Easter and happy eating!
Hoppy Easter!
Here's hoping a very happy Easter comes hopping your way!
Hmm, so is Easter anti-biblical?
The word "Easter" itself appears nowhere in the bible because its roots have nothing to do with Christianity:

Easter is a time of springtime festivals. In Christian countries Easter is celebrated as the religious holiday commemorating the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the son of God. But the celebrations of Easter have many customs and legends that are pagan in origin and have nothing to do with Christianity. Scholars, accepting the derivation proposed by the 8th-century English scholar St. Bede, believe the name Easter is thought to come from the Scandinavian "Ostra" and the Teutonic "Ostern" or "Eastre," both Goddesses of mythology signifying spring and fertility whose festival was celebrated on the day of the vernal equinox. Traditions associated with the festival survive in the Easter rabbit, a symbol of fertility, and in colored easter eggs, originally painted with bright colors to represent the sunlight of spring, and used in Easter-egg rolling contests or given as gifts. The Christian celebration of Easter embodies a number of converging traditions with emphasis on the relation of Easter to the Jewish festival of Passover, or Pesach, from which is derived Pasch, another name used by Europeans for Easter. Passover is an important feast in the Jewish calendar which is celebrated for 8 days and commemorates the flight and freedom of the Israelites from slavery in Egypt. The early Christians, many of whom were of Jewish origin, were brought up in the Hebrew tradition and regarded Easter as a new feature of the Passover festival, a commemoration of the advent of the Messiah as foretold by the prophets. (For more information please visit our Passover celebration - Passover on the Net). Easter is observed by the churches of the West on the first Sunday following the full moon that occurs on or following the spring equinox (March 2I). So Easter became a "movable" feast which can occur as early as March 22 or as late as April 25. Christian churches in the East which were closer to the birthplace of the new religion and in which old traditions were strong, observe Easter according to the date of the Passover festival.
What is your idea of Easter dinner?

Easter Dinner What are you making?
For those preparing an Easter dinner, what are you making this year?
My son's birthday is on Easter this year
he will be 8. On Saturday we are going to have his birthday bash at the bowling alley...he is very excited!! On Easter we will be going to my parents house. They just moved into a brand new, three story home. They sold about 13 acres of land in the city limits of Greensboro, NC. That is a hard thing to come by. The developer will be developing 302 townhomes on the property. It will be very strange to see that when it happens. My grandmother lives with my parents 6 months out of the year. The other 6 she lives in Florida. She's home right now because of the move, so she will be making Easter dinner. I don't know what she will make, but I'm sure there will be ham. Her cooking is so good that it doesn't really matter what she makes though!! Since it's my son's birthday, (and my birthday is two days later), it will also be another birthday celebration...so there will be homemade birthday cake! Can't wait!!
So none of you holy rollers are eating on Easter

Has anyones account seemed a little slow since Easter?
Just does not seem quite as busy?
We have such gorgeous weather here today, Easter Sunday!

What about where you are?!

Don't cap happy holiday season. Cap the others and Happy Holidays alone. nm

With short arms, I need chair with shallow seat, good back support and high back. Want arm rests
:+
OK! I'm glad you're back down here. Now don't go back up there and read those evil posts ag
Okay? But I have to leave you now, sadly. Thousands of noble dictating doctors are anxiously awaiting my help with their "dictations"....They're all loading up on chips, drinking lots of soda so they can burp, and then have to go to the bathroom...You know the routine! Off I go to earn some pennies!! But, truly, I am thankful that I have a job!
PS.. It apparently worked..I heard back and already submitted the paperwork back.

I'm not sure how many people they are hiring but you shouldn't stress too hard over it. Do the best you can.

Heck, I did not say not to wish her a happy birthday! She deserves a happy birthday.
I was just saying her birthday was on Sunday!! :) Why does everyone always want to read something negative into everything on this board. I certainly did not mean anything negative by it! I was just makin' it known WHEN her birthday was!!
:)
I would not do them back to back - I have done 2 and 3 jobs at the same time -- all PT - sm
It is possible to do of course but you will burn out fast. Now I do one almost FT (about 30 hours a week) and the other is about 8-10 hours a week-- I still get beat doing that and that is w/o set hours. I find that the older I get the harder it is to work late and I am only 40! But a mid afternoon 30-minute cat nap helps a lot in order to keep going on busy days.
How do you set your computer back 1 day. I messed something up and need to go back 1 day.
NM
Yes, you get back to work now. Go back to
some routine, and it does start to hurt less. I know  And remember, she is still there at work with you. Always will be. I figure at this point I have a whole herd of loved dogs under my desk each day - along with a couple horses, hamsters, parakeets, rabbits...If only I could see them - must be quite a happy zoo! But I know they are all there I sense their love.
HAPPY FOR YOU
Glad to hear you found the perfect match....I am still looking for someone to really work my own schedule like they advertise. Enjoy!!! If you have any suggestions for me finding a place to work your own schedule, let me know..
YES, i am happy there too, after 5 yr!

To Happy MT
I am happy at MDI just wish they would send a little more love our way.  I switch to different accounts when they are short and work many weekends and if I am correct I have worked most of the holidays.  I get a phone call or email last minute that they need coverage and I do not say no.  I start early and finish late.  I have talked to others in the same boat and they are sad..  I know they merged with Transend and it takes time to  get things in order but when it seems that some get the bonuses and some of us are overlooked it does not seem right.  I think they need to look at everyone in the same light and do the right thing.
Is anyone happy with MQ?
???
Happy now!
23 the first time (then-husband got the 7-year-itch). 34 second time. I had two miscarriages the first time around. This marriage - We have two great little boys!!
I am very happy nm

Happy so far
Hi, I have only been with MQ for 7 months, but I have friends that have been with MQ and have tried other companies, and the consensus is...their new system DQS (DocQscribe) is VERY user friendly compared to other company's systems. AND, as far as WE are concerned, MQ is very flexible time-wise. But I have read other posts that maybe new hires are more chained to a set schedule. My friends and I are out of 2 offices that seem to be very lenient as to scheduling. Personally, I work more hours than I signed up for. But, if MQ were to call when I am away from my computer, (bathroom), like a poster below stated about a different company, I would be VERY aggravated, especially since I am post-colectomy with less than satisfactory results!!! (If you get my drift.)
Be Happy about it
My 20-year-old son suffers every day from injuries he received during his high school football career. He has had broken bones, dislocated shoulders, and he has to wear a mouth brace due to jaw injuries. The medication he takes for his jaw has caused a stomach ulcer, which along with the pain from the jaw, caused his blood pressure to elevated. He said more times than I could count, "I wish I had not played football." Support his decision and be happy that he is not out there getting all banged up.
Happy here
Look, most people who are happy with a company don't just get on a message board to say, "I had a great day at work today," or "I think I make a decent wage and I'm happy with it."  They get on to complain or ask questions or just to surf and see what others are talking about.  The people who are complaining are loud and you hear them a lot.  MQ seems to have more MTs who have been with them for 5+ years than any other company.  That should tell you something right there.
Happy MQ MT
I wonder about the people that are so unhappy about MQ. Where did they work before? Was it inhouse? Did they come there direct from a school. What is it that makes the difference of some people being happy and others very disappointed. Why do some have an abundance of work and others have none? Is it the quality of work being done?
I am happy!
I am happy working at MQ. I come to this site usually for a good laugh, and sometimes I do post. I don't flame the people that complain all the time, I just wonder why they do?!?!?!

We should start a poll - Are you happy with MQ or aren't you - no big explanations - just a YES OR A NO. My answer is YES!
happy
I am happy with MQ!! I think the people who are happy with MQ (and I think there are a lot) just don't take the time to say so...so today I am!!
I USED to be happy but......
I haven't had a decent line count in almost a week and it has been 6 months since I had a second phone line installed and I have yet to see a single dime in reimbursement that I was told I would receive.  Why do I stay?  Because this is my first MT job and I've only been there a year.  Who else will hire me at this point?
I am happy!!!

I'm happy!

I am sure that they are happy to have me
as an employee considering I am one of the only few who actually likes working for them. I am a high producer for them, as well. There would be no reason Medquist wouldn't be proud to have me as an employee. They need to get rid of the big fat losers like you.
How happy are you??
Are you not the same ER who was on here last week trashing the Amherst office?
I'm happy for you!

I, on the other hand, had my children in my mid to late 30's.  I'm 45 and have a 12 and 5 year old.  At 50, I'll have a teenager and another one who will be right behind him.  There is definitely something to be said for having your kids when you are younger, not to say I am not enjoying mine - I'll be pretty old when they are on their own.

I'm happy for you
Since your employer was confident in giving you more work, then I guess you have been doing the right thing this past year. Just keep it up and stretch those shoulders every now and then =).
Then I am happy for ya!
Glad you did something about it!
Very happy at OSi...

I am happy! (sm)
OSi is like a breath of fresh air (to me that is)! They have always taken care of me as a transcriptionist.

There are negative posts on the boards from less than mature transcriptionists who are trying to make a good company look bad. An opinion is fine, but some of them have gone past the line, and so, you have to look a little farther than the posts you see even the positive ones. With that, if you read about the company on their website and you feel it fits your life, then go for it, no matter which company. I worked for Medquist for 2 years and I didn't like the experience I had, but that doesn't mean the next person has the same experience.

Transcription is a God send to me and if the company I work for don't fit me, I find one that does. Each to their own.
AND A HAPPY ONE...
to you and yours!
Happy X-Mas (War is Over if U want it)!
:)
