on their boat...they are west of the projected path of the storm and have a contingency plan if it decides to veer. Man, am I glad he called. Was working myself up to a regular tizzy!!!

4 states are taking refugees
The governor of Louisiana has asked four states to take refugees: Tennessee, Texas, Oklahoma, and Utah. I know Utah is scheduled to take 1000, starting to be flown in today (call the governor's hotline at 866-873-2437 if you live in UT and want to help), but I don't know about the others. I would imaging they're taking more since they're closer. This is being coordinated through FEMA, but the governor's offices of those other states probably would be of more direct help. If you don't live in one of those states you could try to contact FEMA, but I imagine they're swamped right now.
