I'm not talking about ignorant as in grammar or spelling. I'm talking about sm
    ignorant in general.
My doc keeps spelling something wrong
I know it's wrong and I've been spelling it correctly but he keeps spelling it wrong (as if you say "You st*pid transcriptionist, quit spelling it the way you've been spelling it! I'm a doctor!") so I guess I will go ahead and spell it his way.  I hate it though.
Something is wrong with your spelling and your grammar
I see only 1 mistake in my former post, namely 'built' instead of 'build'.

    A typo!

'If you have nothing to say, start attacking and nitpicking....' is this your Motto?
Are you trying to be a QA?

Shall I buy you a book explaining grammar rules and a spell checker?

wrong, wrong, wrong. work is being outsourced because of $. period. not because of unqualified MTs

    UR Ignorant
Can you read?  Did you even read my post?  I am not whining, I am trying to explain to you why some people can not leave their jobs.  How dare you presume to know me or anything about me?  You are starting to sound suspiciously like MQLover, Chucky, Frankie Boy, Zipper, et al....
    How ignorant are you?
That has got to be the most ludicrous statement that I have ever heard. Such arrogance coming from where? A fellow American? Who do you think you are making a statement like that? Of course they have a right to earn a living just as we do. Yes they are mostly a very poor people and yes they are nice. But of course, you can't get over yourself for one second now can you? What makes you think that because we are Americans we are SO MUCH BETTER than anyone else in the world? That is just absolutely not true. If you can believe that for one second then you truly are living with rose colored glasses on and I for one feel sorry for you. That is a pathetic existence to have.
    You think I am ignorant?!....
I told you how many ILLEGALS I have known on the post below. I am curious to know how many YOU know. Don't tell people they are ignorant until you know the situation. Find out the facts before you speak. I usually do. I can take shelered because I am from a small town. I can even take naive because I have been there before. But I can not and will not take being called IGNORANT by someone who does not even know me OR know my circumstances. I have never BEEN nor am I IGNORANT. That is a very rude thing to say. I have never called anyone that on this board and I haven't seen other people call anyone that either. Have a little respect.
You are very ignorant about depression and antidepressants...SM
The drugs you list are NOT "happy" pills and are NOT addicting. They correct a chemical imbalance in the brain and (hopefully) allow the depressed person to feel somewhat NORMAL again. They are not uppers as you imply.

Unless you've experienced the living hell that is clinical depression and the wonders these medications can do, keep your mouth shut.

sorry but the Bible isn't ignorant, dear.

might be careful of that violent tendency as well, all that hammering on someone's head.

besides, everyone here is entitled to their opinion.

    They're ignorant - some hubbies...sm

That's why I don't want another one....did it once - won't do it again.  My daughter, by the way, got me the only thing I wanted, a dish garden....and it was in a big turtle with a little baby turtle hanging onto the big (mommy) turtle.  I love dish gardens.

The older children will eventually GET it, especially when THEY become parents.  *lol*

Life brings with it the ignorant!
Most patients probably don't realize that it is the nurse that handles their care essentially.  She/he alerts the doctor with problems, questions that arise, health status, etc.  The physician will "round", but it is the nurse that handles the "triage" tasks so to speak.  The patients are usually nice to the doctors, but expect the nurses to be their "slaves".  Yes, I am also a patient advocate since I've lost both of my parents in an inpatient healthcare setting and both with terminal diseases, but I also believe that a hospital is not a "hotel" where every whimsical desire is granted.  To understand why a nurse would say that is quite easy.  Transcriptionists sit at desks and look like secretaries.  It is only when the Transcriptionist is not there that the triumphs are noticed by others.  When I left a hospital setting, I had to train six, I mind you, (6) people to do my job.  I was full-time.  It is funny how much transcriptionists do that goes unnoticed until they are no longer there to do it.  What a smack in the face that hospital got, and it is a shame because it is the patient that will suffer.  Unfortunately, we don't usually get the recognition we deserve, but at least we can sleep at night knowing we've contributed.  I wonder if the same posters on these boards that complain they are unappreciated are the same ones complaining about having to work the holidays???????  I'm sure I'll get blasted for that one!  Oh well, I love my job and most people do that are in the transcription field, hence, they would not do it at all!  Wouldn't most of you agree?  I don't want to offend anyone, but it is just how I feel!  Be safe out there!
    What an embarrassing, ignorant post
you really ought to be ashamed of your comments but I'm not taking any bets.
    Forgive an ignorant question

    What's a gross line?

Stupid, I know.  I really don't know what that is, though. Thanks.

Name-calling is the first sign of an ignorant person
    x
That's a pretty ignorant statement - do you know what "customs" are???
Women are to be accompanied by men and are to follow the laws in the Middle East.
I love how stating what I believe to be factual is ignorant- this has nothing
customs or what their religious beliefs or morality is. I am just saying it will most likely be nothing like she expects, certainly nothing like the freedom we have here in the U.S., and she should think long and hard about it. Go in with your eyes open. Boy, the things people take "offense" at on this board is unbelieveable.
And name-calling makes one look more ignorant than ever, dear.
There's a name for you too, sweetie, but it's "politically incorrect" to use it. You know what it is though.

Now go read the New York Times and dream of a better world while we all stand in a circle holding hands and singing Koom-by-ah!

Wondering what part of Fanbelt, Idaho this one's from.
can you explain EMR - I know about voice recognition, but I am ignorant
about this.  How exactly does it work.  I had always assumed it was for lab results and such.  Do they do clinic notes, letters, discharge summaries this way?
WHATEVER. I can't handle ignorant people, which means this conversation is over.
    SEE YA!

You're right! I forgot! I'm happy! Not even a hugely ignorant poster can change that! I AM hap
This is the dawn of my happy day, and I will NOT forget it again! Thanks Michelle!!  Well, Dr. Burpinchortle is calling me - he has a STAT report! Really, its been fun, and I would love to do it again! Maybe tomorrow night??  This was really fun! I mean it!!  Good night!
What an ignorant reply, not all oriental countires are in Asia, also in North Africa, see below..
Since when is 'oriental' offensive or an embarrassment?

On what planet do you live?
    And in the year 2001?
I typed a report on the wrong patient as the doc keyed in the wrong info, SM
He later said the correct patient's name and I SWEAR to this day I made the changes but somehow the report when through without the correct patient and changes made. I still remember that incident.
Fantasia wrong??? Haven't seen the OP's CD, couldn't have been too wrong.

It's about morality - not censorship! Right is right and wrong is wrong!

    spelling
I believe you mean 'almighty'.  The way some of you people mispell basic words, I'd hate to see the transcription work you do.
    spelling
it is plasma PEROX. Perox is an acronym, therfore some people do all caps and some people just put perox.  if you do Google search for plasma perox you will find it.
Is doc spelling it out, i.e., A-L-M-A? sm
or saying what sounds like alma? I'm pretty sure it's posterior "element". I transcribe these all day and can't think of anything else that would apply here.
Still not sure of the spelling but know it
is prichutto (again spelling)..also a Portuguese favorite!

    SPELLING OUT or not.

Okay, I was taught to spell out everything under 10, but I am hearing that is wrong.  Was I taught wrong or did it change or am I doing it right.

    Thanks in advance!

    spelling
I used to have a doc that kept spelling N-A-R-E when he wanted one nostril and I kept putting NARIS.  I am sure he thought I was wrong.  I wonder if he had a TESTIS or a TESTE.
    doc's spelling sm
Oh yes, have had simple English words spelled, but never anything like an eponym from some dead surgeon that is 17 letters long!

Doc dictating "I will order a single dose of Zofran for her nausea".  He is even kind enough to spell it.

    S-O-P-H-R-A-N !!!!!!

    spelling
Spelling is and has always been my weakest link. I've been a Transcriptionist for nearly 10 years. Knowing my short coming, I over compensate. When I first started I had a dictionary and medical speller in each hand. Of course there was spell check too. Transcription can be done even with the character flaw of not being able to spell. Remember, I'm the one who transcribed for the FBI before computers, word and spell check. You just have to be certain everything is spelled correctly before you hit "send." Go for it Mom. I'm living proof it can be done, and I'm not only a Mom and grandma, but I recently applied for social security.
    Spelling...sm
I have been known to use the incorrect word from time to time on this website, but I can tell you that in working, I pride myself in knowing how to spell every term that comes my way. I look it up and LEARN IT as I go along.

When I was first an MT I was no hot shot speller. I am now and I can spot spelling errors in more places than work or a website.

I am surprised that you don't take any more pride or interest in your work than to say you don't need to be a great speller! I go so far as to look up procedures I don't know, anatomy I am not familiar with and disease processes that are new to me. I can't mindlessly transcribe in the vacuum I call my office, not worrying about whether or not I can spell the words correctly and with no clue about what I am doing! I make an effort, always.

Perhaps this is why I work part time and I mean PART TIME of 25 hrs a week and I made oh so well above the average MT income stated in a post below. You get out what you put in.

sorry about the spelling.  I just do not think it's OK to make remarks about what some people hold close to their hearts.  - Many people.

    spelling errors
I have spelled so many words wrong and each time I do I fix it with autocorrect.  I just figure that I spelled it wrong once, it will happen again.  Some words I have spelled wrong so many different ways you would not believe, but each time they are corrected for me---saves lots of time.
    spelling errors
My worst one is osteopenis instead of osteopenia.  I put that right in my autocorrect.
I thought spelling out 1-9 has always sm
been the rule? As least it has been with us and I have worked for MQ for 23 years. Also, that is the way I learned it in school!
    Sorry. Spelling error..
    I mean adjust.

    Tori Spelling
They showed Tori Spelling as one of Kat's friends/family.  Now she might be able to pull some strings!
    Tori Spelling
I was thinking that maybe they put Katharine's friends and family under her name by mistake because when she showed "famous" people they put thier names and they didn't do that with her. Of course, I didn't see who she was sitting next to so I could be wrong.
    Spelling of MD names?
