Hi Ella! I'm from New York City

I grew up in NYC..   multicultural, diverse,  many different neighborhoods. I love NYC  . Rude New Yorkers are a stereotype.   All kinds of people here.  Visit it sometime.

Love your posts, though... ths is an MT board - active, retired, former, and anyone who's thinking about becoming one.

I was out there too Ella and also sm
remember what it was like. There was a time when we were treated with respect and dignity for the profession we were in. There was also a time if you had 3-5 years experience in acute care you could just about find a job and name your price! High demand. With the "birth" of all these MT schools making big promises, the market is flooded with MTs who don't have any experience expecting to make GREAT money and stay at home, right out of school. Quality in MT has gone down thus we get no respect and are treated like assembly line workers! Thing is some assembly line workers make pretty decent money, more than some of us are making!
Ella, you have retired, so this is for the working MTs
I fully understand the theme here. If you want to hobnob with Indians or other ethnic groups, fine. To sit here and be swamped with people who cannot speak English and we have to be letter perfect on everything, no wonder we have these feelings. Go back to knitting now, ok?
Ella, it could be worse, see inside.

Ella I have read your posts on the sm
prayer board and they touched me. BUT, after reading your posts on the other boards, I have to question the way you speak to people. Calling them A Hs and telling folks to "wipe it", picking on "Yankees" etc is not my idea of a Christ-like behavior which is indeed what being a Christian means.

Not trying to pick a fight with you but you are not ever going to win anybody to Christ with this attitude of yours.

BTW, I am a "Yankee" transplanted to the south 24 years ago and there are good and bad people everywhere. Personally some of the nastiest, snottiest people I have ever met are from the south! Im not picking on anybody from any part of the country, but I have sure met some judgemental nasty people here. The attitudes you post are not helping either.

Also on your comment about being grateful that your 19 year old grandson doesn't smoke, drink or do drugs is wonderful but you say that is what is important. I beg to differ. If you are a Christian your relationship with Christ is what is important and if that is right the rest will follow! Its not about following rules and regulations.

I will probably get blasted for putting this on this board, but it is where the comment I wanted to answer was at. The discussion should be on the faith board.

Chill a little bit Ella, those in heaven are all gonna be together and if you don't like me here, you sure won't be there!

I have finished my MT course and I am waiting for my results, hopefully this week. I live near Glens Falls, New York, and was wondering if there was anyone here who was from my area. I would love to hear from anyone in the vicinity. Elsie
My New York relatives used to rag on me:

and say when I visited, "She's from Massatoothetts where they thay 'Pahk the cah in Havaad Yaad.' "   (Note: My relatives have no teeth, hence the lisp.)

Cue the banjo's.

anyone from York, PA area? sm
i am looking for info on an OB/GYN named, Rosean Freundel.  i can't find her on any of the MD websites.  anyone have any contact info on her?  she delivered my SIL's baby and she needs to request her records.  she delivered at York Hospital about 2 years ago.
I LIVE IN NEW YORK, BUT...SM

right now work as a ful-time employee status.  Do I understand your post to mean that I, as a New York resident, cannot work as IC if I chose to?  Thx.

Amherst is near Buffalo New York

Stephanie from PA: I've been to York sm
to the H-D assembly plant a few years ago.  Loved the area there and the proud people working for H-D.  So sad to see the demise of the jobs in the PA steel mills and the loss of jobs in the American auto industry to foreign manufacturers.  Very sad, indeed.  I come from a manufacturing area, now virtually ghost towns with just service jobs left.
York, PA too! small world (nm)

Send this or your own letter.  Let us know if anyone gets a response.
No way, in New York or CA you can't live on $11.50 an hour.
I understand your message and get what you are saying; however, it is literally impossible to live on $11.50 an hour in those two states, and probably a few others. You can't even get a 1 bedroom studio apartment for less than $1500 a month, not including utilities, then food, clothing, and other bills. Sorry, can't do it.

Does anyone know anything about the Greenwood Lake area of New York?
.
I'm in upstate New York, haven't had a problem. Mine is hvc. Where are you?

Just curious: I RESIDE IN NEW YORK and you in a little village in the Midwest, right?...nm

weird..if you look up the profiles, the "guy from Iowa" is from New York..wonder if he origina
came from Iowa?  I don't think Guy will win..thats too easy.  It better NOT be that snotty Carissa..that is one show I'd NEVER watch.  I like the "Iowa" guy.
Gee, wish all these newyorkers would meet on the New York State board. It gets lonely up here.

okay, york hospital said they had delivery records, but no prenatal records. sm
they had no idea who she practiced with or anything like that and of course SIL doesn't know any name other than Freundel. i am also a midwife besides being an MT and in order for me to take her given her bicornuate uterus, i have to have her records. i guess delivery records is better than nothing, LOL, but i have to have her prenatal records. i wonder if there is a clinic there or something that med students rotate through. i couldn't even find ms. freundel on AMA, but she may not be through with her training yet either and that is probably why.
There's a law in our city that you can't have more than
a certain number of pets in your yard or home.  Have the neighborhood band together and sign a petition or turn him in on every tiny infraction.  Get rid of the guy.  Take back your neighborhood.

What city is LCC out of? Do you know? (nm)
xx
what are you trying to do, build another city...
please go down about four posts and see the one titled "It never fails to amaze me" and see what happened to that train of thought and the responses to the same.  You might get a clue to your answer.  Have a great day.
It's certainly UNBELIEVABLE that they'd do this the city, but
I guess I don't know enough to understand why? What could the government of NY had done to prevent this? What were the grievances? I really think we need to blame the right people here, so hopefully someone will be able to share more info on why this happened.
Kansas City, MO Thanks! nm
nm
Why does everyone think Kansas City, MO is
Kansas City, Kansas as well, but for the most part when you hear KANSAS CITY it is referring to Missouri.  The Kansas City Chiefs are in MISSOURI, not Kansas.  Downtown Kansas City (the one you hear about) is in MISSOURI, not Kansas.
Those City folks

I can really relate to your situation and wanted to tell you this story.

I live at the base of a mountain.  There is an RV place out here and every winter the hunters camp and .....leave aggrevation everywhere (garbage).

Yesterday i drove the 15 miles to town to the post office where they know everyone by name.  I was packaging my book to mail and was listening to this conversation:  A gentleman handed a change of address form to the Postmaster. He says," You just moved in that new house on the hill last fall.  Is everything okay"?

Naturally everyone looks that direction.  The gentleman says " We don't like that housing developement on the hill.  There is way too much snow".

Continuing with his story:  My wife had the kids were in the SUV and the road was covered with snow and ice. (duh, it is all winter long).  She had to stop because of the herd of Elk standing on the hill in the middle of the road.  She slid back down the hill and wouldn't drive up again until I came home from work".

So i have asked my husband for a snow maker!!!!!! Maybe they will all move back to the city.  At the base of this hill, a herd of Elk always graze in the field.  There have been many occassions i drive the grandkids that direction to watch.  The 3-year-old asks to me take him to see the funny cows.

So if anyone has a spare Snowmaker please send it to me.....I would love to drive the rest of the city folk out of there!!

city folk
I'm a city girl who moved to the country a year ago, and just want to tell you we're NOT all like that! Glad your game warden & cops did that!
My family & I respect our environment and animals (neighbor's pets and wild ones)& are upset to see garbage alongside the beautiful country roads! Even went out & cleaned it up a few times (by next day it was a mess again!). We have a teen boy on our street who drives like that, too....and he's always lived here in the country!
That kid who killed the deer & tried to hit your dog will get his..."what goes around comes around".
You think we stereotype that all country people are dumb...well, aren't you stereotyping that all city people are like that family?

Johnson City HS, NY

How do I reach them? What city are they in? Do sm
you work for them?
If within city limits, you will.
I at one time ran an ad in Yellow pages with my last name and then "Typing Service" as I was trying to get students and those needing resumes. The city called me and told me I needed a business license. It is a small percentage of the gross annual income. Then, you can display it. They also want to know if there is incoming and outgoing people, whether I would be selling a product or if it was a service and whether it will be in your home and if so, would there be traffic coming and going. I did not contact my insurance company but probably should have...(I had very little business lol).
HA, I always thought her name was the city she was from!!!!
silly to have to point that out about yourself!
I'm in AL, too! Phenix City. nm

Hey Forrest City (sm)
I grew up close to there and attended high school at FCHS.  Wonder if we knew each other?
Do you mind if I ask what city...

you are working in?  I live in TN and all of the jobs I have seen advertised pay under $13 per hour.  I had no idea the hospitals here pay that much.

RE: Do you mind if I ask what city...
Memphis.
Depends on your city

I was first told no and now have been told that yes I do.  So check with your city and they will let you know.  You are running a business just as any building contractor, consultant, painter, plumber, etc. and so they are making us do this more and more.  You usually pay a percentage of your earnings.  But since we have no foot traffic I did not have to get the approval of my neigbors for the business.    This is in Portland, OR.

Y-City star
I guess they don't have the public voting ready yet. It should be ready tomorrow. I will keep you posted.  Thanks on the hair color. My stylist thanks you too. I can honestly say it WAS my natural color when I was 10
Y-City Star
I definitely will keep you all posted.  You should be able to hear a 90-second audition clip tomorrow. The first show will be July 15th and the second July 29th. The first 20 will be narrowed down to 8 and then the winner.  This is a lot of fun and I am definitely singing for "All the Girls" I was never one to get up in front of people and talk much less sing. Finally got the courage.  THANKS FOR THE VOTES!!
Is that the wendy city??
NM
I believe that would be TNI, LLC, a company, not a city. nm

How would the city or your neighbors know
you supposedly ran a business out of your home. Do you have employees, a parking lot at your home to have the employees park there, overhead including insurance to cover disability in case 1 of the employees has an accident on the job. First of all, no neighbor of mine knows I have a business (if you want to call it that, I don't) but secondly if someone from the city came by asking questions the answer would be I don't know. In fact I had the city to come by 1 time to inquire about work I had done inside my house, told me they needed to come in and I said no to them. Never heard another word about that. I do not know what kind of work the person on the right or left does, oh I do know 1 lady said she works for IRS and that is that. She might have a zoo in her home for all I know. I would never think about putting myself on the line to say I need license. Bunch of crock.
