I think they will see these newbies run faster and harder than we ever did if something doesnt suit.

I once was told "type faster"
x
not sure, but I was told that cable was faster sm
than DSL. Again, I am not real computer literate, but that is just what I was told. I did find it to be the truth in my case.
Some friends told me about this site, and now i'm glad they told me about it. Make Grass is very

Here it is. when you call, you'll get an id number..that makes re-ordering faster. sm

Also, the custom sheet has to be specific..when we sent easter eggs..12 large eggs with jelly beans, 24 medium plastic eggs with jelly beans..etc. there are rules about what can be sent..for specific countrys..I'll look for that now.
The harder I try, the more mistakes I make...
Go over report twice.
How do you make dial up faster?

I have Earthlink ISP and I have their accelerater, but I still need to have faster dial up as an MT for downloading and uploading so what do I do?  Is there a way to setup our computers to get a little more speed for our jobs?

Not going to make them grow up any faster sm
Sorry, but I have a duty to protect my child until they are an adult. When they are older, if they request that I leave the room during the exam, that is one thing, but no doctor is going to tell me I have to leave the room. My kids know about sex and that no one is to touch them except a doctor and only if necessary during an exam. But they are also still children, and while I don't baby them, I am in no hurry for them to lose their innocence. I absolutely love that my 11-y/o DD still loves her stuffed animals and plays Littlest Pet Shop games on her Nintendo DS. Kids these days are growing up too fast, and while I may be looked at as giving her a sheltered life, I would much rather have that than her trying to act like she is 16 already.
To make any computer run faster
Or invest in some CD-RWs.

Anne

from what i've heard, its a lot harder

I know they could care less about us, we're just numbers/slaves to them, but why don't they get a little integrity for the business, make us happy for once, in turn improving quality and giving themselves a good name, and pay by the hour while we learn this technology at least.  How can any company cut pay across the board like that and get away with it?

funny how upgrades make work harder for us
.
Nice tips, but to make any computer run faster
I get so frustrated when people tell me they need a new computer because theirs is to slow. The first question I ask is "how many pictures do you have on there?" Standard response "oh at least a couple hundred, but the guy at the store said it could hold Xamount" yes it can, and every picture/video you add is taking up space. Invest in a few flash drives!!
OMG! You've GOT to be kidding!
This is not the original responder. Babe, you need to realize that the world does NOT revolve around your mouse finger.
You've got to be kidding...right?

omg you've got to be kidding? the OP was
lol
You've GOTTA be kidding.....
Gastric bypass is an elective surgery. Any surgeon foolish enough to perform it, with the knowledge that the patient was not NPO prior to, is setting themself up for a major (no chance of winning) law suit. Moreover, any patient that would not adhere to the NPO stipulation prior to the surgery should not have passed the required psychological testing given as part of the pre-surgical work-up.
You've got to be kidding!! You think EOE covers felonies?!!!
Sorry but the mention of felony convictions or any legal trouble isn't covered by the Equal Opportunity Employment act!!

A legal record is in place for those who commit crimes for a REASON. It represents the choices an individual has made.

A company has EVERY right to deny employment to someone with a legal past and SHOULD.

Basically, harder dictators and harder reports with a lot of formatting with tables, etc. SM

give you extra lines because of the time involved in doing those particular reports.  Not so much you get paid more per line, you just get extra line credit.  For example:

You have a 100 line report, but it is weighted because of a table that you have to input.  Then you would maybe get credit for 130 lines for that report.

You could ask, but you'll probably be told...

that the IT department has to check out the software before you are allowed to load it on the PC and then they might decide not to let you because of software licensing concerns (individual versus corporate license).  This is the response I got when I asked to load my PC ShortHand on a hospital-owned PC.

Here's what I how I got around it.  You can get yourself a 1 gig or 2 gig jump drive and load the Shorthand program on the jump drive.  Then plug your jump drive in your PC and run the program from the jump drive.  You never actually load it on the PC and works fine.  It runs in the backround on the PC, but once you exit the program and remove your jump drive, there is no evidence that you ever used your own program.

I've done this for years.  In the office on a PC I shared with the evening person and at home on the hospital provided PC.  No one was ever the wiser.

lol cut myself off. Anyway, I'll make close to what I used to make with MQ,

The faster they grow, the faster then fall.....sm
Faster growing trees (soft wood) like pines, Leyland pines, Australian pines and,I would surmise, fast growing poplars -- I have trouble with regular poplars where I live -- are more susceptible to come down during a storm.

You may want to try a bush-like plant such as red tip, which does grow quite tall but stands up better than the above trees.
They think the faster they talk - the faster you type - LOL EOM
?

i've been told ...

I dunno much about this neither -- I just do what I'm told.  :/  I use a VPN connection.  when I want to get tech help from the online system, I have to have my wireless laptop hard wired to be connected.   so I was told.  so that's what I do. it seems that might be a clue in the puzzle, but I can't take it any further.  :)

Have I told you lately that you make me sick?
nm
I've been told to do it "-cillins"

I've told many accounts . . .
I have no problem with people who do it  for less - they know what their work is worth, and clients have come to agree with me and want to come back.  It cost them!
I've been told to use them in one account

and then another account I've been told I use too many....

So much for trying to be perfect...

I've always been told to put 2. Even if not paid for - sm
2, since I have to proof-read everything before sending out, and 1 space makes it harder to read, I put 2 for my own ease of editing, in addition to it just looking better and more professional with 2.
I've never been told of any shortcuts to do this. Sure

I've been told by recruiters and HR people that
they've never met anyone who scored 100% before.  I did!  Poor little uneducated lifeguard me.  No little MT certificate.  Oh, no!
You should've just told the person who gave
that you took the clothes you couldn't use to Goodwill and that your other friend bought them at Goodwill. Nothing she could do about that one!!! She'd have to tell Goodwill not to sell stuff to her and you know that wouldn't fly.

You did the right thing, though, and I probably would've done the same. This way you can continue to be friends with both without getting in the middle of things or causing hard feelings. :)
Thanks. I've told the same things to my kids about

Teasers in school.  They just do it because they have no life, no self-esteem and they just try and feed off the misery of others or try to make themselves look better than everyone else.

It's very sad and so pathetic, but it carries on with these types through what is supposed to be adulthood.

I've always been told to put those in even when using 'the patient' for everything

Thanks! I've been told Infinity works with (sm)
the new platform I will be working on, I just needed to make sure it would work with my Start-Stop. I really did not want to have to get a new media player as well. Thanks again!
I've been told most errors are connection sm
related and media player related.  This is for Windows XP. Remove all media players except the Windows media player.  Wordclient conflicts with other media players.  Also remove any of those browser toolbars like Yahoo. Go into your Control Panel Add or Remove Programs to find them and remove them through the control panel. Then, go to start-run-msconfig and click on the tab marked startup. Uncheck all the boxes except for your virus protection and click okay then restart. I had to do that to get rid of the errors and now I go in once a week to make sure the settings stay.  I seldom have a problem now, maybe once or twice a week, not 10 times a day like I did before.
I've told about 100 people total. THEY DON'T

If I've said it once, I'll say it again, do NOT take a course
Many companies offer coding courses with national certification as the end result. There is a clause in HIPAA (HIPPA..I'm too tired right now to care to get it right) that stops just short of requiring national certification of all coders but with the coder putting their education and professionalism on the line with jail time and monetary penalties for miscoding, ask yourself if you are willing to save a few bucks and then not be able to get a job.

Been there, don't that, got the certification and keep the costly yearly CEUs (way more than to keep CMT) to keep it that way.

IMO, AHIMA is pompous and is akin to AAMT whereas AAPC stays true to the AMERICAN coding profession and was in fact the original and only national certification organization until AHIMA realized how much $$ they were missing out on by not offering national certification.
Thank you both. I'll look at both. I've
been in a serious panic with having to find a new job and get several new programs.
I know I've said this before and I'll say it again
I had a doctor that I work for tell his residents (student doctors) that they should transcribe reports for at least five years before entering med school because they would be more apt to answer the questions being asked.  The patient being examined was my mother.  The doc was asking the questions for the student docs to answer, and I was answering them faster then they could.  This is not at all to brag.  This comes with the territory of having experience in this field.  I'm sure most can attest to knowing exactly what the patient will be diagnosed with and recommended before the doc even has a chance to complete the dictation.  I was actually very flattered to say the least, but you know what, I kind of have to agree that maybe med school should include a year of transcription because I think that would give the docs that do not speak clearly a taste of what we get each and every day!  God bless....   Good luck no matter what you decide, and I wish you well.
I've said it before and I'll say it again!

There are a lot of screens to go through and hopefully you're getting the correct patient account number and all of that jazz!  Good luck with it, but I would request an hourly rate for Meditech work if I were to do it again after 15 years of that stuff I put up with using it!

It ain't worth it - you'll make about
$11.00 an hour and no bennies.  After 25 years of doing this people are still making crappy money!
Try this recipe. I think I'll make it myself! :) sm

Don't worry about what you have to pay an accountant. You'll make it up

With that attitude, you'll never make money in
slack when his checks are small.  Sorry you can't seem to do it.  Maybe you should get one of those "every other jobs" where you start off making the equivalent of 15 to 18 cpl in MT.  Let me know when you find it.
I'll take your hubby. I've got one just like him and another one won't bother me... except.

my hubby will leave 1 knife, spoon, or fork on the table and it gets buried under the mail he never reads. He will take his shoes off at the door if the ground is dry outside, and keep them on if the ground is wet, snowy, muddy, etc.

He will make himself a sandwich, put everything away EXCEPT  the mayo, leave the bread tie on the table and twist the bread closed and fold it under. Oh, and the best thing.....he never, ever uses a paper plate for his sandwiches or snacks of chips, pretzels, etc. at the kitchen table. What falls on the floor stays on the floor.(sigh)

But, I feel lucky because he puts his dirty laundry in the hamper and carries the hamper out to the laundry room if he needs clothes, I fold his clothes and put them on his bed and he puts them away...on top of an open drawer, on top of the bureau, on top of a chair, etc.....I give up.

BTW, I'm with him 40 years and been trying to train him all those years. I did make a couple breakthroughs, but not much. So, ya gotta love 'em or leave 'em. I choose to keep him.

Wait'll you've been in it for THREE decades,
