I agree with your Idol Fan!

Kelli has been needing to go home for weeks now, luckily Bucky was worse than her.  Elliott is also my favorite, has been since Day 1.  And Chris is also my second favorite.  Although I don't think Taylor has as strong as a voice as some of the others I absolultely love him!  That show won't be the same without him!  Hopefully Kelli goes home tonight!!!!  I'm SO over her blond attitude!  Elliott all the way!!!!

Idol top 12
Bo seemed very happy. I think he had been careful to look cool while he was a contestant, but last night he could just have fun and not worry about a cool image. I don't think Ayla is snotty, but she's not as good as Katharine, and she also has her basketball to concentrate on. I think Melissa was shocked that she snuck through. And Kevin was blown away that he made it. I'm glad he did. He has a wonderful voice, though the music he chooses isn't exactly pop idol material, so he's not the total package. Will and Gideon leaving was okay with me. I figured Ace would make it through, though I don't enjoy him.

Now there are only one or two guys and one or two girls I won't mind getting the boot, though in the end I think the winner will be Chris or Elliott or Lisa or Katharine. I think Lisa is holding back to wow everybody at the end.
idol

Okay, I guess I'm one of the few who have never watched this show!  However, i just had a doctor dictating, said "Katherine McVeigh is gonna do well only cause she is so bloomin' good looking.  She cannot sing worth a hoot".    I cracked up!

Idol Fan
I think Chris was just as shocked that "Cat" of all people beat him out! She has always been my least favorite! My favorite has always been Mr. Soul Patrol!! Of course you have to love Elliott too! Chris will be fine and probably have a record deal very soon.
Idol Nothing New
Unfortunately, I think the show is "fixed" every year. They latch on to a particular contestant and you can just see how much they favor that one person. It happened last year with Carrie. A few days before the finale, an article was posted on the internet from a newspaper that said when speaking about Carrie, "the winner of American Idol" even though the final show hadn't aired yet. Needless to say a day later the article disappeared
idol
I think Katherine is great if she sings the right song.
American Idol
I missed the first 6 minutes.  What did I miss???
American Idol

I think, BY FAR, the guys are better this year. Of course, I thought that last year too...Bo was robbed!

Anyway, I just love Taylor...there's just something about him that is genuine and warm, I don't know, I hope he wins!

What are your thoughts? Who's outta there tonight? I think either Kevin or Will...sorry to say, cause they're both cuties!

As for the girls,  eehh...who cares? They just aren't...as Randy says...bringing it this year...nuff about them.

Ace is hot , Chris is just plain good ...but Taylor's still my pick!

American Idol
Taylor is something else - but so is Chris - he sang "Broken" like he really felt it last night. I am for either of them winning - as for the girls - Mandisa has it handsdown.
American Idol...sm

Ok, last night's show...

First, I can't believe that Kevin dodged the bullet and got into the top 12...but I'm glad, he seems like such a sweet kid.  Kinda figured Will would go, but I liked Gedeon too.

I'm glad Ayla (sp?) got the boot, didn't like her.  She was snotty!   Kinnik was nothing special either, so guess she had to go too.

As for Bo's performance, I don't know...he seemed kinda off or something.

Now it gets good...the top 12...who's your pick to win?  Mine's Taylor...or maybe Chris!

This weeks Idol
Hi all!  What are your thoughts on last nights performances?  I thought Kelly was just absolutely awful.  Although, Katherine should be thanking her lucky stars that Kelly was as bad as she was, otherwise, I am sure that she would be getting the boot tonight.  I thought that Elliot was the best by far last night.  Chris is my second place.  Taylor and Paris both did a good job. My final three are still Elliot, Chris, and Taylor.
Idol this week
Elliott seems genuinely goofy.  I'd like to see the guys perform a female artist's songs after Katharine was required to perform Elvis songs with all the guys.
American Idol

There are only three left now.  Who will be the winner? amj

Dial Idol
It's at www.dialidol.com.  It's free to download.  I have high speed internet on my laptop but also have the regular old phone line modem.  It was so easy.  I just downloaded the program.  Plugged in the cord from the phone.  It pretty much configured itself.  Then when the show was over, I opened up the program.  This last week, they only did two lines for each contestant instead of three.  You don't have to put in the phone numbers or anything.  You just select where you want your votes to go.  You can split them if you want...but being you are Soul Patrol (Whoooo!) I don't think you will :)    It does all of the dialing and redialing for you after that. I just walked away but came back to check on how it was doing.  It also tracks who, according to it, is ahead based on number of calls, percentage of busy signals, etc.  It's been about 85% accurate, and Taylor has been on top every week.
Idol Tickets
Dress up like a major fan with Idol T-shirt and other accessories and stand in front of local supermarket with a karaoke machine singing some famous Idol songs, "I believe", "A moment like this"! Oh, c'mon, that would be good! lol
Any American Idol Fans out there ?

Brenna - American Idol
I was also very happy to see Brenna get voted off and the crap she said about making her own record.  She sucked!
American Idol tonight!!

American Idol Results.....SOON

The results are in............who is leaving American Idol tonight?  We will know in about 30 minutes from now.  My feeling is that either Kevin or Kellie are going home tonight......I like Kellie, but she really doesn't have the voice like the others, and Kevin, well, he speaks for himself - CHICKEN LITTLE - LOLOLOLOL!

I see it coming down to Chris and Kathryn!!!!!!!!

American Idol--who are your favs?

 Mine are:

  1. Taylor (he just makes me happy)

  2. Mandisa (love her)

  3. Chris (he is awesome)

  4. Paris (so spunky)

  5. Katherine (so talented and controlled)

American Idol last night
How did everyone think it went last night?  I was again disappointed by some of my favorites.  I just love Mandisa and Taylor, yet they were not up to snuff at all last night.
American Idol Tour
Has anyone here ever gone to any of the tour shows?
american idol tour

Do Simon, Paula, Randy and Ryan go on the tour or is it just the idols?

I missed American Idol tonight.
:-)
Wow. So Sad!!! I am not an Idol fan at all. In fact, hardly ever watch it. But a few weeks ago sm

I watched Mandisa (?) sing an awesome Christian song THAT I LOVE!!! I thought she knocked it out of the park. Of course, being a secular show, Simon detested it as it probably convicted him to no end........

I wanted to actually vote for the first time since idol aired, but I just didn't that night.  I should have.  She was voted off (so I hear) because she sang a Christian song?

Sounds to me like it's the best thing that happened to her.  Must be God's way of telling her no to be an artist in the secular world.  I hope she gets a Christian label because I will be the first in line to buy her music.

No flames please. Unless you are a Christian, you will NOT get my post.

Who watched American Idol tonight???
Cannot even believe that Bucky went home before Ace, Katherine, or Paris.  Ace cannot sing at all!  Bucky was not great, but it was definitely not his time to go!
I downloaded Dial Idol this week
on my laptop and had it do my dialing and voting for me this week. I've never done that before but it sure was easier...and I usually need to be working every evening, too, so can't just stop and vote for 2 hours..or 3 next week.  I have such anxiety or this show. I don't know what my problem is. When I told my son last night that Taylor made it to the finals, I said "Do you know what that means?"  He said, "He'll come in second and you'll be disappointed again?"  Yep..he knows how it goes.  Obviously, I absolutely loved Clay and cried the night he didn't win. I didn't really get too wrapped up in season 3. I liked Bo and was disappointed but didn't cry when he lost.  This year, I have the feeling for Taylor like I did for Clay.  I will be so, so disappointed and upset at this dumb show if he doesn't win.  As many times as Kat has been in the bottom, and Taylor never, I will just not understand it if he doesn't win, and on the other hand I guess I will just not be surprised at all, either.
Elliott needs to be with his very sick Mom. Being the Idol would prevent that. sm
Besides, from what he said about AI being a "steppingstone," he's probably been contacted by someone big. He's going to make it, no matter what. I think being the Idol at this time would be too much for his personal life. His mother needs him now, and he knows it.

RE American Idol. In the past Simon has said (sm)
America got it right.  Do you think he will say that this year?  In my opinion, these are the two WEAKEST contestants of this entire season.  Taylor is very lounge-y and Kat is completely inconsistent.  She'll do well with one song and not the other.  I think Kat is more marketable and I think, somehow, Taylor made it in under the radar.  JMO.  What do you all think?
Idol chat board agrees - Paula was
wacked last night.

My favorite moment last night of American Idol...
I loved the moment when that Clay Aiken wannabe was given that razzie award and was singing Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me (much to the regret of my ears, LOL) and out walks Clay Aiken, the crowd goes wild and I'm sure the wannabe thought they were cheering for him.  LOL  I think he was truly shocked that Clay was there.  Nobody could have acted his reaction out!  I loved it.
I'm in the same boat.. Sat on the idol website and watched reruns of

Update on daughter & local Idol Contest....
I am getting so nervous I am having trouble working.  She has decided to sing Sara Evan's "Born to Fly" as her first song and it she is chosen in the top five, she will sing Alicia Keys' "If I Ain't Got You."  Two totally different songs.  The elimination process has been easy thus far but now MOST of the 12 are good so it is hard to pick a top 5 which I hope she at least makes.  Wish us luck.
The biggest overrated Idol contestant right now is Kellie Pickler.
c
Yes, Live, his fave group - and the lead singer is his *idol*.

Local radio station is giving away American Idol concer tickets. sm
They're running a contest for 2 free tickets. With the entry, you have to list what you would be willing to do in exchange for these tickets. The best/most original idea will win the tickets. Any suggestions? It has to be something the person would really be willing to do. I really want these tickets!!
Agree, agree, agree! Just listen to Benny Hinn..

he speaks perfect English, especially when asking for money!  Also, in my opinion, blanks should be left in the doc's dictation if not able to be transcribed, maybe then they will know that are NOT understood.  With QA fixing them, what need is there for them to care if we understand them or not?

love, love, love the show. hate american idol. this show is for real.
the only reason i entertained watching it was because of mark burnett and as usual he has such genious casting and editing. btw, don't know who anything about "metal" music but these performers make me like it. love marty and jd as performers. HATE JESSICA. susie is so nice and so emotional. it seems they all support each other and enjoy each others skills. regarding ty and bob marley, ty was excellent but he also lucked out on the song! bob marley was genious too and his music is very easy to listen to. i don't like 3/4 of what the others are given to sing but their performances make me love the music. dave navarro shines on this show, very gracious for the most part and letting the contestants down easy when they have to leave. he was great last night with brandon (?). sweet, sweet show. i am so impressed with everyone involved.
I agree with you....

I mean afterall there is no evidence that she is dead.  From the beginning I thought they were guilty and I still think that Joran knows something (not saying it was an intentional murder-- probably an accident)  The biggest thing that plays on my mind is why did they lie in the beginning if they were innocent.  I believe that they were covering up for something.  There have been theories that she went for a swim and drowned but there has been absolutely no trace of her.  No shoes, handbag, nothing, which leads me to believe that everything was gathered up and taken somewhere.

I feel for the family but they need to let the Arubans do their job abiding their own laws.  I know the mother has said she will stay until she finds Natalee but you can't live in Aruba forever.

I agree....

I think you have to blame Natalee herself before you blame the chaperones.  What was she thinking going in a car w/ three strangers in a foreign country???  And also, what about her friends.. what were they thinking letting her go to the bar or leaving the bar alone?  Back when we were in college and were on spring break or just bar hopping in this country..... you NEVER let your friend go off w/ some strange guys.  That is just common sense.

I agree!
It is stated above, "I wouldn't give my daughter 2 cents towards a trip to Aruba at age 18. There's only one reason to go to an island like that, to drink."

Thank you! Me either!

I feel awful for this girl and her family. I really do. But no way in Jerusalem would I have allowed my 18-year-old son OR daughter to go to Aruba (which is a colony of the Netherlands, where pot is legal and who knows if there's any regulation on alcohol).

An 18-year-old is in no way socially savvy or emotionally prepared to be turned loose in a strange place with very loose laws and be expected not to get into some kind of a situation that he/she is in no way prepared to handle.

NO WAY

I really hope they find this poor girl, but it's not looking good.
I agree - for all we know
they could have taken out a second mortage on their home to finance this "vacation".
I agree with you...
besides if I sat all day and typed an American doctor who dictated in monotone speech I'd be sleeping by 10 a.m. I look forward to the challenge of transcribing the ESL's every day..it makes our jobs more rewarding!
I agree
nm
I do agree with that...

Evil does exist no matter where you go and my post was meant in no way disrespectful to you or your opinion (I hate it when a flaming war starts like the ones above).  I just know how one seemingly insignificant comment can start a whole line of growing misinformation...  Kinda like that game we probably all played as kids..telephone or whatever

I did not hear about the comment of America being the Great Satan, that is interesting, I am going to have to check that one out!

agree...

IN some cases we did, but do you really think the Indians didn't do the same?  There is a myth about indigenous peoples on any continent being "noble savages," but in truth, there were warring thieving tribes among the Indians here who leeched off the peaceful tribes before the Europeans got here.  Lying and cheating are not exclusively European virtues.

I still say they need to get over it.  We spend way too much time in this country talking about mistreatment and ills of the past - we need to spend more time and energy on building a future for the children and grandchildren we say we love so much.  The best way to give them a successful, peaceful future is to let go of our resentments and choose to love our children more than we love our grudges.

I agree with you (sm)
it takes a village to produce a perfect report! LOL! I embrace the feedback from QA, both positive and negative.  And I make notes and try not to make the same mistake twice.  Life is a learning process, anyways.  The day I stop learning, I guess will be the day I die!

I don't agree.
We get a lot of local coverage, but what about national coverage like on Fox, MSNBC, CNN, etc.? Every single news network has been focused on this one single incident on just about every show from 7 to 11 p.m. for months.  Nancy Grace gives a 30-second blip in her missing person segment, but the majority of her hour-long show is devoted to the Holloway case.  Look at all the help that was donated to the search effort in the Holloway case because of media attention and contrast that to the help that could be focused on other cases in addition (not instead of) had they received the same saturation of news coverage.  It's not a generalization, it's an actuality.
I agree
Yes I agree with both of you Joran was involved.  I think it was drug related probably not to her knowlege, an accident or something and then they panicked and did whatever they did.  When you hear that the father actually said, "No body, no case", that sends off bells to me.  My fear is they know she will never be found, and he will just do his 116 days in jail or whatever, and her parents will never have any closure.  Sad.  I hope we are all wrong.  I hope she shows up somewhere like Elizabeth Smart, no matter how traumatized, it can be dealt with.  However, I still don't think it is fair to all the other parents with missing children who cannot get their story on CNN for 3 hours a night, not for even a minute.  That has to be a plight worse than hell, not knowing; and thank God I don't know how it feels and hope I never will.
