I am happy with mine...the price was right and it works just fine. No need for pricey laptops IMO.

HP laptops come with keypads. Mine and DH's both have one....sm...
Not all HP's have them.  Ours do though.  I use an ergo keyboard plugged in via USB though when I'm doing transcription.  I just got mine in January so they probably still have some.
Yes, I agree. Free is a good price and Express Scribe will work just fine for you. (nm)

Shorthand works great with DQS and is half the price
xx
Try FlashType, it works just like Shorthand but is half the price.
see link below
VR works just fine
I think that VR works great. I use Escription. They seem to understand that VR alone is not the only way to improve productivity. They encourage people to use keyboard shortcuts. I find that those shortcuts help a lot.

Editing is here to stay.
I have speedtype and it works just fine.
Just have to remember to open it when I begin working -
I use InstantText and it works just fine.
x
I use WildBlue and it works just fine for me.

I'm on dial-up. works fine.

The link works fine for me too.

I use SH with Chartscript, works fine.

Mine is fine....
But about a week ago it was totally messed up. Maybe yours is having a delayed reaction.
Speedtype works fine w/docQscribe
They told me it wouldn't work, but one day I opened it just to see and I'll be darned if it didn't sort of "take over" in place of the expander that's in DocQScribe! Now I have all the work I've already done in my own expander and it works just fine! Glad I didn't listen to them (my employers)
Yes, that is what I did, free phone, like new, works fine. - nm
xx
I use an Infinity and it works fine with ExpressScribe. (nm)
x
I went with the Student version and it works fine...
certainly haven't found anything missing that I'm in need of!
Sorry you have to use Medicrap, but I use IT where I work and it works just fine.
Its amazing how un-MT friendly that program is and how the hospital administrators don't care that Medicrap won't fix anything.
Mine is working just fine.

I can use internet with just fine with mine, (nm)

I've just used the wav player part, and it works fine.
I have not heard good things about the rest of the product. I have used Winscribe wav pedal with RIS Logic for radiology. Terrific combination!
My Logitech cordless is 5-years-old and works fine - sm
despite tons of garbage in it, though I do try to turn it upside down and shake out the crumbs from time to time, and blow it out with a duster. I also pop off keys and clean under them with a duster that way too. Though almost messed up my shift key, put it back on wrong and it would not work, but figured it out and now it is fine. Bought those stickers to put on the keys where the letters had worn off, but the D is damaged now, looks like someone (not me) dropped something on the keyboard as the D, E and C all are damaged/have marks on the, The D being the worst though, big chunk of it is gone. But still going srong. Would like a softer touch keyboard though, this one is very hard, but maybe that is the key to its longevity? Something to think about (I work ~40-60 hours a week).
Really? I never save mine in .rft, only .doc, & they are counted just fine.

Mt Airy pricey but not as pricey as
Asheville
The speller works perfectly fine so if you are having problems contact me and I will

My email addy is admin@mtstars.com.  Free or not, it's a great software, so perhaps you just need some assistance.

No. EditScript works fine with my 2003 Word version. sm
It is ExText with Word 2000 that I am worried about interfering with my EditScript from eScription.

Sorry that happened to you. I have been running Word 2003 with eScription for about 4 years now. Everything works great!
Email works fine with my Word docs are open...
it just doesn't work when ChartScript is open.
Not necessarily...mine are older and I do fine as I mentioned above.
For toddlers...a great way to deal with it is to get them one of those "kid computers" and a stack of paper to draw on..as well as other activities (leap pad) and put them right next you at a desk.
Mine is working fine and turning purple...
.
mine is fine...sounds like a monitor resolution thing--
or perhaps, did you download an antivirus update or something. maybe your video card acting up?? just suggestions.
Thank you. All of us at SS do our best to make it easy. I am so happy to see when it works out wel
We are here for our employees. We just have to know if there is a problem and we will do our best to fix it. Thank you for you vote of confidence in us!
Mine is not a happy story. I emailed it to you.

A friend of mine works there and....

She really loves it! She has been there since August.  Her pay has been really great. I am hoping I will get a chance there as well.

Good Luck to you

Mine works with Vista
That's what I had to do is download that codec and mine works on .dss files. That's all I get from my neurologist
TED hose. Works wonders. I got mine sm
K-mart in the pharmacy department for 5.00. They're compression stockings. Works great for my aching ankles too.
I don’t know how your brain works but mine does not turn off...
…NM
Yeah, like Amanda said, mine works on ...
COM1, 3 pedal, but you could try what she tried too - VEC, 3 pedal. I just tried all until I found one that worked.
Friend of mine types 16 hrs a day to keep her clients happy. She has no life & brought it on herself

The price of gasoline is reflected in the price of goods. Having said that, one item
higher, MOMENTARILY, than Walmart, does not really make a case against Walmart. You want to make Walmart a bad guy because they don't have a shopper out there matching the grocery stores' price so be it. But MOST people I know shop at Walmart for lower groceries prices AS A WHOLE, and that is what makes Walmart successful. So buy your cheaper Bounty towels at your grocery store if that makes you happy. Your grocery store HAS TO MAKE MONEY and they will get you on something else. It is the retail law. Walmart will not be successful with higher prices than the grocery store. They aim to succeed. They have been sucessful in undercutting other stores. Your Bounty towels will not bring down the Walmart empire but it may cause you to shop at your grocery store where they will charge you more on other items to stay in business. Quit the knee-jerk responses. If you don't like Walmart and don't want to shop there that's all well and good. If you don't shop there because of Bounty towels, well that's just crazy.
Mine works with printer and external hard drive
You just need to get the more expensive USB Hub with a power adapter if it doesn't work with your printer.
I do! I usually get mine at The Body Shop and Bath and Body Works. Thanks for posting that link. Do
xx
They are a little pricey -- Also, you would have to
outlaw the candles in her room. Otherwise she could just light the candles in the morning, get "caught" lighting the candles, and then light cigarettes from the existing candle flames all day.
Wow, some of those are pricey. (sm)
I may have to bite the bullet though. It is a small room and the stench of the smoke hangs heavily on her clothes.

Thanks for the input. It is a difficult situation when you have to "monitor/discipline" your parents and their actions.
it was pricey

I didn't need the job that bad.  It was just extra income.  I just didn't see the need to buy that when I could accept a job elsewhere and use Express Scribe and my wav pedal working in Word, which is what I did.  I don't like Emdat well enough to invest in working on it long term.

Anyway, my point was that I find it hard to use hot keys, and I'm impressed with any MT who can.

That's a little pricey
for my blood (I use the Microsoft Ergo), so I haven't used the Comfort keyboard. It would be difficult for me to get used to it, but it may be worth the trouble/price if it keeps you away from the surgeon. Here's one review from PC World:
http://www.pcworld.com/article/id,115946-page,1/article.html
Too pricey. Thanks anyway!

Define pricey-sm
If you don't mind my asking, what would one treatment cost? Thanks.
Whoa, very cool! A bit pricey though...nm

Noise-canceling headphones are pricey. I just had to buy
new headphones and I got some that have the big things that cover the whole ear, kind of like ear muffs.   They aren't noise canceling, though they do a pretty good job at shutting off all the noise.   They are Panasonic and I got them at Circuit City for about $40.00.
King and Prince is wonderful but pricey
Jeckyl Island has more beach than St. Simons and has more to do. St. Simons only has 1 or 2 places to stay on the beach, with K&P being the nicest and ON the beach. If you want the same experience, I would recommend staying on Jeckyl Island as you can always drive over to St. Simons as they are so close. The village on St. Simons is wonderful. Plan a whole day to spend there. Jeckyl has more to do "family style" but you can rent bikes and explore the entire island in a few hours. There are some places with wonderful snap shot opportunities (I have one from Jeckyl Island of a full moon rising over the Atlantic through tree branches as my screen saver). I went in October one year during a hurricane and playing golf on St. Simons was an adventure!! People thought we were crazy to be out there, but we had fun.
