A friend of mine did the injections (sm)
and her legs looked great for a little while. Eventually, blood got trapped below the injection sites and they look worse now than they did before.
Forgot to as directed steroid injections!
For headache sufferers, there is nothing like supraorbital blocks and Botox for frontal headaches and occipital nerve blocks and trigger point injections for posterior head pain. Unfortunately, they wear off though. It helps diagnostically so the doctors know what they are dealing with. One doctor offered me a rhizotomy. I finally went through with a cervical fusion because my neurosurgeon said it would clear up all the pain. I wish it had......
does anyone know a good website for subconjunctival injections?
Thanks...
MAs take vitals, draw blood, give injections, etc.

PAs have the mostly the same authority as a doctor EXCEPT writing narcotic prescriptions they need their suopervising doctors signature.  I used to work in a doctor's office as an MA for a PA.  Hope this helps!!!

My mother had to finally get 3 epidural steroid injections.

not an allergy.. only have the
when my skin gets really dry. the warmer months are fine.
allergy??
My daughter would complain of nausea and vomit only one time but never really appeared "sick", no fever, etc. This started when she was a toddler and at that time, I connected it to when she would eat eggs. Over the years, she would eat eggs but just small servings as they are not really a favorite food, and they didn't seem to bother her. She is 16 now and recently, she spent the night at a friend's house and the dad fixed a big breakfast and gave her a "plateful" of eggs. To be polite, she went ahead and ate them not thinking too much about it because, as I said, she has been eating small portions over the years just fine. That day when she ate the "plateful" she had a stomachache all day long, never threw up, but I still think it was related to the eggs. Other than a stomachache, that is all she would show.

Is there something that your son has started eating in larger quantities than before? Sometimes we can handle a small portion of something but the large portion plays havoc with the allergies.
allergy testing
We tried the Alcat test.  Understand traditional medicine does not agree with this blood test, but it helped in our family.  My daughter had had heart palpitations since she was a child, and no doctor ever seemed concerned, but they bothered and scared her.  The test showed a moderate intolerance to red dye 40, and since she cut it from her diet, no more palpitations!  It is pricey in my book, but it has helped us.  www.alcat.com
Betcha THAT is an allergy!

Allergy Resources
I have an allergy account of my own and I know what you mean. Those tests/allergens can be tricky. I purchased the Stedman's Dermatology & Immunology Word book and I use it often. It has everything you need!
allergy to muscle? ASR

ASR:  Allergy to muscle.  (Well, there's a reason not to work out).

Should have been allergy to amoxil.

I mean the actual word ALLERGY not the med itself

For the nickel allergy, you can paint
the metal with clear nail polish. I do that where my watch sits against my skin - one of my MDs suggested it.

I have very mild eczema, and my skin likes the new Ivory soap that has aloe vera in it.
Asthma Allergy specialty
I am working as an IC for a asthma/allergy specialist who has recently went into private practice.  In the 10 months that I have worked for her she has changed the format of her PE, new patient, D/C, well all of her forms, several times.  I have tried to explain to her that it is her practice and I will transcribe whatever information she feels is necessary to have in the permanent record (she does not do dictation, I transcribe from written report).  Can anyone give me an example of final transcription for an asthma/allergy specialist, and possibly an example of the forms used?  I would like to present these to her to compare so she can feel comfortable with what she is transcribing for the final record.  I would really appreciate any help I could get with this.  This is my first job and I want to keep this doctor satisified......Thanks!
Opinions please for Allergy work

I have the opportunity to pick up some additional work for an Allergy/Asthma Clinic.  I have not done allergy/asthma work before.  How tough is it and how easy is it to transition into?  I have over 10 years experience but mostly in Orthopaedics, Radiology, Family Practice, OB/GYN, and ERs.  Also, for this account I would need to pick up and drop off the work.  Do you think I could ask for $3.00 a page?  All opinions appreciated.  THANKS GUYS!

Allergy tests reference?
Does anyone know of any good online reference I can use to look up allergy tests? Specifically looking for something where I can look up different types of weed, grass, tree pollens that may be tested with prick test or intradermal tests.
Anyone know a good web site for allergy testing? Thank you! nm

also, good chance its allergy related due to
season and naproxen not working. For headaches like that, I try over-the-counter Sudafed and/or Benadryl at night. I prefer Zyrtec-D, but if I'm out, I use OTC products as above. Often, one has to identify the source of the headache in order to get the right med. Headaches are very complex entities! Hope you feel better. Personally, I think headaches are the worse sort of pain, even compared to fibromyalgia, as I have that, too! Feel better.
I have one PA with a chronic allergy or sinus problem....
which is, of course, not his fault, but makes him very hard to understand.  He has a very deep voice and likes to raise and lower the volume at random.  And at least every other sentence, he says "Excuse me," like he made a mistake, but then just repeats what he said and keeps on going.  He also likes to say, "Delete." a lot.  I think he is even the one who dropped a "F" bomb on me one day.
Allergy/Asthma Clinic Work
I am hoping someone can give me some insight on Allergy/Asthma Clinic work.  How difficult is it and is it something that can be transitioned into easily?  I have the opportunity to pick up some work but I've not done any Allergy/Asthma Clinic work.  My experience has mostly been in Radiology/Ortho work but I have also done OB/GYN, Family Practice and ER reports.  Thanks!
There is a trick

I did a concrete patio painted a couple of years back.  We etched it first, which I think is supposed to be an important part of keeping the paint from peeling.  After applying the concrete paint (which was bought at Lowe's), we waited the required time and put a sealer on it.  So far, no problems.

Just an idea you might like -- we took all different shapes of leaves and did some concrete paint on them in a contrasting color and pressed them down around the edges to "pretty" it up a bit.  We get tons of compliments!

a little trick
The > points right - more right-handers. The < points left - less left-handers.
what's the trick?

Could you please share with us or e-mail me what the trick is??? I'm having the same problem and it's driving me nuts!!!

Thanks!!!

Is this a trick everyone knows but me?
Maybe it's got to do with the way my pools were set up at past places, but I never got to see the entire body of work to pick what I wanted. At my current place, I get 2 jobs at a time that are automatically routed to me, I assume by computer. Once again, I have no look at what is out there. Theoretically, I guess I could return a job to the pool and take the chance that I'll get something better, but there is also the chance that I'll get something worse and that my repeated rejection of jobs while come to the attention of someone, bring their wrath down on me. I can spot sneaky a mile away, but I apparently never mastered the art of executing it.
Trick or treat
Since we have a Doberman, I doubt it will be a problem.
good trick

Thanks for the tip!!  This is off the subject but I have seen other posts like from Mimi that end with "nm", what does that mean?  Thanks

This is a neat trick, if you don't already use it...sm
I'm sure many of you have heard of this already, but for those who haven't...it sure helps me when I'm typing AND reading back over my work.  You can hold down the control key and turn the roller wheel up a notch on your mouse to enlarge the print on your screen.  Then just hit control and scroll it back down to make it smaller again.  This has made it "easy on the eyes" for me.  Hope someone can benefit from this as I have!
The trick for cc: in AutoCorrect is to use a ; or /
in front of cc in the replace box so Word will back up and change the cap to lowercase. It's a lot faster than AutoText.

;c expands to cc:

Can someone help with an internet trick...

If I was looking on the internet at something and saw an address to respond to, I could click on the email address and it would pop open a box in my yahoo and put the address right in the "compose" a message part of my yahoo mail.

A couple of days ago, this feature stopped working, and now I am cutting and pasting the email addresses off of the internet and pasting them into my yahoo mail.

Does anyone know how to get this feature back.

Thanks!

When I worked for a vet. guy had dog allergy tested and dog was allergic to human dander. No kidding

The first season...
comes out on DVD on Valentine's Day. What a great gift that would make! I don't watch much TV myself, but I try to never miss an episode of Grey's Anatomy or House.
i go through it too - hopefully the season where
you live is almost over - thank goodness mine is - hope you feel better soon!
Get a Hiney Buster! That will do the trick! nm

That probably would do the trick. After I hit "post message," sm
that thought struck me. I'll try it. Thanks!
Turning the control off did the trick. sm

I don't even need the convertor now.  The plug-in downloaded and my GP plays the dvf files just fine.  Wow!!!  I can't thank you enough.

Thanks, thanks, thanks!!!!

Hey, cool trick for log keeping. Can you tell us how you do it? :) nm

another trick of the trade for soundalikes
that's a good idea; but to avoid extra Keystrokes and loss of productivity by deleting the glossary def entry you could also make *mental associations* for soundalikes, e.g. dysphaGia pertains to the Gut vs. dysphaSia pertains to Speech; ILlicit is ILlegal vs. Elicit Evokes; ilEum pertains to Eating vs. ilIum pertains to sItting... well, you get the idea! =)
An accent trick that helps me...
After spending way too long trying to figure out an allergy one night that was pronounced as s/l fee-oh-REE-nul and which turned out to be Fiorinal, I started double-checking and realized that East Asian (India, Pakistan, etc.) and Arabic language dictators will often incorrectly accent the 3rd syllable if the word happens to naturally be accented on the 2nd syllable.

So when I have a problem with a word that's accented on the 3rd syllable, I'll re-emphasize it in my head, changing to hitting it hard on the 2nd, and that will often help. Or just playing around with emphasizing different syllables from how they're doing it. Now if I could only find a way to mentally blank out the 'trilling' (arrgh).
favorite season

Hi

My season is definitely fall.  I am up here in northern Maine and it is so pretty with the leaves changing, etc.  Of course then comes all the snow - and I don't even mind the cold or the snow but since I am getting to be "old and brittle" I am scared of the ice.  However, I really am looking forward to October.

Season 2 out on DVD Aug 30th!

Recap for the first season (sm)
It really is a great show. Love the chemistry on the show between the cast & the story line is never boring. Can't wait until next week!
I have only been at this for about a year so this is my first tax season as an IC..how much SM
income do you have to report as earnings or do you have to report everything? My first job was with a company that was really really hateful. I only made 60-70 dollars from them and then I quit. Do I have to claim that as taxable income or not? I go to H&R block and they charge per form that you turn in...that would bite to pay 100 bucks to claim 60 or 70!!! Thanks for the input!
I think this entire season is going to be -
while he is in the hospital and how the business continues without him.  We won't know if he makes it until the last episode.  Gotta feelin' he won't.  The show will die with him.  -
funny cuz I think this season was....NM

ER t.v. show; is season done?

The last one I saw was the shootout and have not seen any since.  Did I miss one or was that it for the season?  (If I missed one don't tell me what happens.)  Thanks!

I do too, but the season premier was a let down.

Chris is a boring one-trick pony. (nt)

Daisy Dukes and a plunging top ought to do the trick!

My trick for stopping expansions from expanding....SM
This might not work for you but I find it quicker to add it in my shortcuts. I simply add the last letter on it again when I don't want it to expand. For example, BP = blood pressure but BPP = blood pressure. COPD = chronic.... but COPDD = COPD. That's a lot faster for me than to do all those other steps. Just thought I would throw that out there in case it might work for someone else too.
A product called *Oops* might do the trick
It can be found at places like Sherwin Williams Paint. It seemed to get up all kinds of stuff when we built our house. Good luck!
