I haven't had night sweats, but I have had crying spells, forgetfulness, and mood swings. It's been going on for about 5 years. My sister-in-law is the same age and she's having even worse symptoms. We're both in our mid-50s and still have an occasional period.

I found that limiting my junk food intake has helped more than anything else. Not sure why, maybe the metabolism just can't handle the sugar and starch like it used to. But since limiting candy, potato chips, ice cream and diet soda, I have noticed a wonderful difference.

I've also started walking almost daily.

For me, the walking and diet changes have helped more than the antidepressant I was on for a few months - but I know other people get good results with either an anti-anxiety or antidepressant to help with the "change."
