Ohhhh, the TEMPTATION...

... sent my team lead an e-mail message asking what to do when the patient being dictated on is a brand-new newborn baby, who apparently does not have an account in the system yet, and thus no demographic information can be found for the patient.

She wrote back and actually asked again if the dictation was on the baby or the mother.

I would not have asked the question if it had been the mother, who has an account in the system. Honestly, I am not THAT dumb. But I was good. I refrained from pointing this out, and merely answered "yes, it's the baby."

Sometimes I have to fight the temptation to
grab those thongs sticking out over the pudge rolls and give the girls a terrible wedgie.  Then the guys with their nasty pants drooping down to their knees makes me just want to grab them by the seat and pants 'em.  I'd probably get arrested, but kids these days dress horribly.  The girls' clothes are too tight and small.  The guys' clothes are too baggy and big.  If they'd mix the two styles together, both guys and girls would have decent clothes to wear.  Everything would fit properly!  I wonder what would happen if all the parents in the nation refused to let their kids buy that urban trash look.
I can certainly understand the temptation to
find another line of work. It must be so stressful for the MTs who rely on their MT income for their day-to-day expenses. It seems they never know from one day to the next whether they will have work or enough work, they have to worry about making line counts to maintain benefits (if they are even offered benefits), then there is the paid time off issue. For a profession that requires so much training, knowledge, and continuous learning, the monetary rewards are very meager. I only do MT part-time, and I'm glad I don't have to rely on it for my survival income, even though I think I'm paid fairly and am generally treated decently. There are times when there is less work than usual (doctors on vacation, office closed for holidays or renovations, etc.), so my MT income drops. The policy is to assign work to the full-time MTs first, then the part-time MTs get what is left over. Sometimes, there's nothing left over and even the full-time MTs have less work than usual. I can really understand why someone would consider abandoning something they've trained for and worked so hard at just to get some security and predictability. I wish you all good fortune with whatever you decide to do. That Home Depot job sounds like fun. I like to garden. Maybe when I retire from my day job, I'll go to work for Home Depot just to get out of the house.
Ohhhh, you mean as MT, I get it.

ohhhh, so right!!
you certainly took the words right out of my mouth -- anyone who asks me what I do and I say I do medical transcription from home they go oh, that sounds so good that you get to work from home and I tell them I would not recommend anyone to get into medical transcription now -- you are so right, it doesn't get any better -- everything in this industry is on a down hill roll and it's not good.  What really upsets me are those schools that you see on TV and in magazines who flash those ads about making really good money -- in your dreams -- excuse me, some do still make good money but it's a small percentage compared to what it used to be 5-10 years ago -- everyone could make good money doing it, but not any more not with the direction this industry has taken.  So please don't waste your money on those schools who will only take it and when you're done with the classes you're on your own and it is surely a rude awakening when you hit the streets.  I'm like you I really wish I would have considered something else, but we can't go back, we can only go forward.
Ohhhh!!! We're going to see you on the
Food Network competing with those incredible works of art and watch you carry them to the table and hold our breath to see if they crash?!?!?!! OOoooohhh, you have my greatest respect!!!! HOW EXCITING AND DARING!!!!!
But ohhhh sooo tempting!! LOL
