I love my life, but I'm not happy with my job
I have plenty to be thankful for, that does not mean that I cannot come here and complain.
I did notice that some people that you meant the constant complainers.
I've only recently become one since I quit one of my jobs as an IC and I have been reading through the boards about how much people don't have any work anymore because of the outsourcing.

That should pi$$ EVERYONE off in this industry no matter if you have a great job (good for you) or not.

I'm more livid about there not being a standard for MT's because I pride myself on doing an EXCELLENT job but that doesn't seem to matter anymore, so yes that pisses me off and makes me not so much miserable ... because I am a very happy person. but when I spend the majority of my day doing my job... it does tend to wear on you you know?

That sounds so nice. I'd love to live the simple life again. nm

Hines Ward is the MVP nt

When I speak of being in the psych ward
I only say that because this decision I need to make about what to do has been driving me crazy. All the "I should do this, and I should do thats" The What if this and What if that...My head is in a tailspin.
Unless patient is on locked ward, they are free to come and go.
Many patients go outside to smoke, etc. To keep patient in hospital against will requires a legal document signed by the doctor, called 5150 in California, probably something else in other states.
Was nurses aid, then aide in ICU, then ward clerk, then
MORE medical terms cuz halo the docs were professors, and they let me play PA under their supervision, then w/comp supervisor, then pregnant, then had to find a PMs job and landed in transcription dept as trainee. If I could meet their requirements, I stuck. If not, I was fired. I stuck.
Sounds like candidate for mental ward

Yep, a visit to a cancer ward makes just about any day-to-day problem seem

WRONG! A child that has a fear of discipline = a well behaved child.
I have a beautiful, intelligent 11 year old daughter that hasn't had a spanking in 6 or 7 years and probably only 3 her entire life. She is very well behaved and I get compliments on her behavior constantly. When she does get out of line all I have to say is, "Shall I call your father?" Call it what you want, it works. She respects and obeys me and her father. Why??? For fear of the facing the consequences of misbehaving. Having a total lack of fear or respect for authority is exactly what's wrong with Generation X/kids today. I turned out just fine as did my siblings. Why?? Because my parents took "time out" to bust our a$$es whenever we got out of line.

Is that clear enough for you???
Life is life....the haven't bonded the same as if it were a 2-year-old!

Don't know but don't go the first week in June.
Bush is planning to test some nukes and will be creating a mushroom cloud over Vegas.
June bugs
Awwww, I miss June bugs, and just hearing about them makes me wish I was back in Missouri, which is where I grew up and we saw lots of them!
June bugs
My husband's uncle used to eat them.
Just turned 29 in June..nm

They look like boys. That's why the OP
liked Jude Law.  Boyish charm.   That's why I think they are a bit effeminate.  They never got past boyhood.
THREE boys.
I also tried eliminating sugar, reducing caffeine, exercise, and even going braless because I heard the underwire could be causing it.  Nothing has helped so far.  There's also a website out there where women are pulling together because doctors aren't informing us of the side effects of tubal ligation.
I have boys, too.

They've had girls chasing after them since kindergarten.  The notes from girls that I find in the laundry were just too much.  I love you, I want to marry you.  Goodness!  Last year, my 11 y.o.b. had a girl threaten to kill herself if he didn't "go out" with her.  He took it really hard because we had just lost a family member to suicide, and he felt like he had to do what this girl told him to do or she would die.  She even told him her parents had lost custody of her and she had to go live in another state to be adopted.  Compulsive liar.  I had to go in to the school and nip it in the bud with the teachers, school counselor and principal.

I told my boys they would not be dating or "going out" until they were in high school.  Even with that, my oldest boy had a girl who wanted to sneak around behind her mother's back and lie to see him because she wasn't allowed to date.  I told my son no way, you're either straight up with the girl's parents and introduce yourself to them, or you don't date.  He told her that, and she dropped him like a hot potato because she didn't want to date an honest boy.

BUT, not ALL little boys do this.....
mom of 3, soccer mom, basebal mom, footbal mom, teacher's helper, preschool daycare provider, 2 brothers, 20+ male cousins and NEVER saw anything like this.
Then why are they after little BOYS???
nm
Being there for my boys
You nailed it! When I first started, it was purely by accident, trained on the job (1987), and way long before being married/kids. People would say to me "you can do that at home cant you"? Oh no way I said! I never expected to even stay in this profession, I was going to college. But then when I found myself having my kids at 36/37, I realized I did not want to got back to work, so the same hospital I worked for hired me to help at night from home. Who would have thought that my transitional job would be my savior so that I could afford to stay home with my boys. It was truly a blessing, and sometimes when it seems unfair, it's beats having to wake my little guys (4&5) and take them to daycare for 9 hours. Would not trade it for nothing!
when my boys were little they use sm
to come to my office and they said they also said mom sounded like a machine gun typing. The old wheelwriter typewriters, I really did like the sound. It relaxes me for some reason!
June to October? More in fall

Congrats! 22 years for me on June 25. nm

To get rid of june bugs you need to get rid of grubs. You can
use Milky Spore but it is expensive and can take up to 3 years.   You can put products on the lawn for grub control and that will eliminate the June bugs.
go away Kikki aka Melanie aka June (nm)

June was $105 w/o the AC on-- drip pan was rusted out - sm
and needed replacing, unfortunately they could not just get that part for some reason, and had to get the coils to....$645 later, it is fixed as of Friday (we went a month not using it since if we did have it on it would drip into the furnace and rust out the parts there, and have a river run across the garage soaking things too). So normally in the summer the electric runs from $120-$160 with the A/C on. I think we will try to use it less. We have made it this far w/o and it has been around 90-95 every day, with very high humidity (yuck). Electric actually jumped from $90 to $105 since we have fans running non-stop, still cheaper than running the A/C though. Have had a few cooler days now (80s) and cool nights (60s) so that has helped a lot.
Moving to Hawaii in June!
I will be working from 4 am til about 10 or 11 and then going to have the rest of the day to enjoy the sun and surf! Lived there before and loved it and can't wait to get back.
It was already published in June 2008. nm

ALL little boys do that. They think it's funny.

Boys' language and social skills are also slower to develop than girls.  Wait until they have a name writing contest outside in the snow on the school playground.  Speaking from experience, sometimes teachers have personality clashes with students and do pick on them.

No, ALL little boys don't do that. Watch your
Yes, I have a son.
What about moms doing the same with little boys?
Ya know that's done more than the former!
My experience with my own boys
was to teach them the fine art of respect and acknowledgement in such events.

For a family member that was not distant in relation, I had them attend. They did not have to approach/view the casket, but they attended. They learned to sign the guestbook. They learned how to order flowers, sign cards, and I spent time showing them the funeral/visitation process.

I had a class in high school on death and dying and it taught me quite a bit I was unaware of.

Most of all, I wanted them to be prepared and as comfortable as possible with their roles and expectations placed on them when these painful situations happen.

My boys were 3 1/2 and my girls were 2.

Cheerios in the toilet worked for me.  SINK THOSE BATTLESHIPS!!  :)

But both boys were 3 1/2 at least and when I was just about ready to give up, they just started using the bathroom as if nobody had ever told them a thing.

Pressuring and scolding are the 2 worst things you can do.  Just be laid back and all of a sudden one day, they are diaper free.  None of my 4 have ever had an accident or wet the bed since the day it kind of dawned on them.  Sort of like the day they learn to ride a bike without training wheels. :)

This too shall pass like water under the bridge.  No pun intended.  Now I'm buying diapers for my grandkids.

I know the Club Med there will not be open until June 2006, if that is of any help. sm

No doubt a travel agent could give you an idea of how things are.  If it was me, I think I'd wait a bit.  They were hit pretty hard, and there is a lot of cleanup, I'm sure.

Wherever you go, have some sun in the fun for me!

I just found the best spray for June bugs sm
and spiders, ants and those yukky black and yellow bees that go in the ground. I have June bugs something awful this year, hundreds banging around my house. And those bees were so bad last year I couldn't get in the garden, they had invaded everything and got in the house as well. I talked to a farmer who used this stuff called Suspend. He said it really worked but it was expensive.  I found some on the web and mixed a couple gallons and went around the foundation, under the decks and sprayed a bunch in every bee hole I could find and wow, it's like magic. I haven't seen one bee scouting around the holes, no ants in the house anymore or in the gardens and not one spider. We get those big wolf spiders and I found 4 dead ones in the alley. It's great. It's $40.00 for a bottle (I think its a pint) and it makes around 11 gallons. I bought it at http://www.doyourownpestcontrol.com.  No, I am not a distributor nor do I make any money off referrals. Just recommending something I finally found has worked.
$256.00 for June electric bill in Calif.

Am curious if anyone's else is outrageously high.  Mine typically is $150-200 for summer months.

I keep temp at 82 during day, 78 at night.  Temperatures here soar to 95-100 though.  But, I live alone and have gas hot water, gas stove.

Working at home has its pluses and minuses!  Leaving the air off for 8-10 hours a day while I was at the hospital working saved me a lot of cash in this utility bills.

my bill in central California for June was $392,
last month was $299. If this year is anything like last year, July will be $500 and August $600. I keep it at 78 to 80 all day.

I am a medical Transcriptionist who has over 15 years of experience and also have taught medical transcription and provided quality evaluations for graduating students at the college level. I am in the process of revamping my medical transcription business and have a spot for two either graduates or soon to be graduates to intern.

The internship will be paid at a starting rate of 0.06 cpl (65 char with spaces) while in training and then will go to 0.07 cpl. This is an wonderful opportunity to gain much needed experience as well as allowing you the opportunity to work from home.

Just reply by email if you are interested and tell me a bit about yourself for consideration. You will need a USB foot pedal and either cable or DSL. Also need to have a medical spellchecker and a willingness to learn and retain.

Please specify hours (times) and days available in your response.

Good luck to you.

Those boys need to be exposed to camping LOL!!

I agree that boys are not any easier.
I have raised 2 girls and am now raising a 13-yo boy and 2 11-yo girls. I think boys are worse, although the girls are no picnic.
