also lodge complaint with BBB in their state, their state's atty. general, PayPal, and any other internet consumer watchdog you can find (there are a lot) Be sure the company knows you are doing it. Your bank should be able to supply you with information about their company if they have already taken your money.

Thanks for this post, SB. I have to say these comments kinda
I'm definitely not a redneck, but I do know some country people whom some of you board MTs here might call rednecks, who are absolutely the best of the best - pure hearts of gold.

If you would ever do research of the term "redneck," you would find that it really does not mean drunks and carousers but, rather, refers to hardworking, salt-of-the-earth, farming people who LITERALLY got red necks from working the land, out in the sun all day, to make a living and provide for their families. Yes, it has come to have a more negative connotation, but if you think that all Southern, hardworking country people are rednecks, then you are dead wrong, and I'd love to show you around here sometime. You'd probably love our Southern hospitality if you'd give it a chance.
Excuse me, but why would you even post such comments...
are you absolutely crazy? Starting your own post to praise yourself would be more in line, but what is out of line in my opinion is your attack on the original poster here so you can glorify yourself...

That was real encouraging, good going!

Does anyone know why some companies won't hire you if you have satellite internet service? TIA

I was told today that all the big computer companies offshore their technical service. Does anyone
x
If we find out that a service outsources offshore, we do NOT allow them to post.
If you know of a company that does, email the Administrator. My email address is admin@mtstars.com
To the service who posted a job ad on the Main board, the reason your post
was removed is because all job ads are to be posted on the Job Seeker's board. Any "well-deserving MT" knows to look at that forum for that "chance to work for an excellent company and make an excellent line rate". Feel free to post your ad there.

Thank you.
do you have a link you can post.
i just lost my paperwork telling ME how to get line counts.
Are you serious? Pls. post link to this.

Please post the link - thank you

Can you post a link to this?
I am looking at one at Office Max but I haven't decided.  I bought one last year that I thought was just dreamy and now it's more suitable for sleeping, the back is all flopped back.  It was SPENDY, too, now pretty much shot.

If this is so great, why not post the link here.
after passing that exam and paying all of that money, people would want that list posted on the highest mountaintop!!!
No, there is no S..did you read my post and link?

A link to a MT website is always correct?  LOL...

Think I'll trust my link...Allen Medical...they sell them...

Could you post a link to this article?
I would really be interesed in reading it myself.  I have tried to search for it myself but cannot find it.  Thanks.
oops, my link did not post
trying again here
For post office jobs see link

I mean the post below regarding MQ being sold. I have tried to attach link.

But there is a link on that board to post a resume and you
can post it there.  Job seekers board is only for companies to post about positions.
Can you post a link or a website so we can see this too? Interesting! nm

Had trouble with link . . . check one post up

There are several forums to post on at the Religion link.
I wouldn't call it "fragmented".  The poster can ask his/her question on more than one religion board and receive a variety of responses in which to make an informed decision.

Above post is correct, see link - Ashe disclosed himself...

somebody called the press and leaked the story - but absolutely no identification that it was a healthcare worker. More likely an old ex-girflriend!

"Ashe, who was ranked first in the tennis world in 1968 and 1975, said with some bitterness that he was making his disclosure only because the newspaper USA Today had called him last week and revealed that it was working on a story saying he had AIDS. "

THE POST IS NOT ABOUT INDIANS BUT ABOUT AMERICAN COMPANIES
that want to send their work overseas and train them to transcribe it. I want to know why the moderators feel it is okay to post jobs from spheris and healthscribe and others that were mentioned in the article when they undoubtedly hire us in the US until they can train more transcriptionists overseas and then leave us high and dry.
You can't post the names of companies. The powers that
be always delete them. I know I had to answer some questions concerning a Pell grant I got at a local technical school once. I don't think this is so far fetched.
not all companies post clearly .. how many put their line rate in the ads?
I really hate it when I answer a blind ad and afterwards I have to tell the person that they are not offering enough compensation for me to work on their account.

If they need weekend coverage, maybe that should be handled by a weekend-only IC. And if the MTSO has to hire 3 MTs to jump in the work pool (usually with a prn hanging in the eves) on Saturday and clean it up, then the work gets done. The M-F gals are happy, and the weekend MT looking for extra work (because some accounts don't have weekend work - especially clinic accounts) on the weekend is happy, too.

I work the weekend sometimes, both days. But I typically steer completely away from account ads that have the shifts delineated Tues-Sat 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift.

This is a labor-management issue that needs to be worked out amicably. Too many times MTSOs are bad-mouthing ICs and ICs/SEs/Es are bad-mouthing MTSOs. We aren't at odds. The MT is benefitted by hitting TATs with hopefully job security, and surely we all understand that we are all together on contract performance. This is supposed to be a symbiotic relationship and if you do get an MT who flakes, then have an extra to cover it. Management shouldn't browbeat the MTs who are dependable.
Take a few on-line tests. Some companies post

a link in their ads about where to go to test.  You'll get a feel then about how good your education are.  You'll certainly have blanks and you'll probably get a bad dictator or an ESL, which is the norm these days, but it will still give you a sense of things.   I've had nearly 20 years' experience I still have an occasional blank and I have to spend some time researching a new drug, equipment, or procedure at least a couple of times a month, so you never stop learning.

You'll find when you start out you keep your reference books piled up beside you and Google is your best friend.  You'll probably look something up twice for every report and then you'll only to have look something up twice a day, etc.   The thing to do is make lists when you have a new word/drug so that you have it posted somewhere where it is handy if it should come up again and you don't spend a lot of time looking it up.

You also need to have a good reference library.  I know some only use google, but at least 1/4 of what is on goggle is incorrect and unreliable, and you need the proper tools for the job.   A community college course, if taken in person and not on-line, can be completed in less time than a course that is all on-line/correspondance generally.

You can post a message for posters to email you, but you cannot name companies.
Due to potential liability we must limit what can be posted.
umm.. are we allowed to post pictures with the direct link code listed?
because I did and it won't show.. the image has not been moved or deleted.. it is a little gif of MC Hammer dancing to Grammar Time. Darn.
Wasn't there a post on here about letting companies having you banking information

GOOD LUCK
We have decided to add this to our current service not have a new service. It will be easier to sm

keep track of and will just be a different department.

It looks like we will work out details over the next 6 months, talking with community college program directors as well as a few of the distance-learning course leaders to work on the recruiting end.

We will train current staff to mentor if they would like to do so and want to work in the office.

We are still working on production requirements, goals to set, pay, benefits and other fine details but we have 6 months to get it all in place with three months to pull it together after that with a tentative start date of 09/01/06.  We need to build the building as well, although that is already at the blueprint stage in a spot next to our current office.

We did not want to cause flames and bashing by listing the company name as there are always so many negative people on this site, but we are national with over 200 transcriptionists, located outside of Chicago (40 miles west) and have the best team of transcriptionists around!

We will have an "official" announcement after the first of the new year.

Thank you for all of your feedback and suggestions!

Just send an email to the email link inside the post.

I have to say that I buy a lot of products from TVPS and have never had a

problem.  Before calling the BBB and credit card company, why not try again to contact the company?  People are always so quick to jump and complain to the BBB, when situations can be resolved.  I would suggest calling and asking to speak to Tom Wilkes directly.  His extension is 101.

BTW, I do not work for TVPS, I own an MTSO and only purchase from them.

Hair products...
I remember hearing a rumor that Prell or Pert would turn your hair green. I'm a brunette, never happened. Also, what ever happened to "creme/cream rinse"? That's what it was called in the 80's. In my Aqua Net days, I could make my bangs stand up about 2 inches, my best girlfriend's bangs were 4 inches high! Wow! I love this. Let's keep going.
Weird MT products
I am sure that with equality of hiring acts, ergonomics, handicap working issues, everything that can be thought of is out in cyberspace somewhere.  I think it is just a matter of surfing the web til you find these products.  I have seen one-handed keyboards that look similar to a joy sticks, as well as other configurations.
natural products helped me - sm
I feel for you. Different story, (though same in that tubes tied, PMS-crazy 10 out of 30 day each month, teens) but maybe this might help you. I could not opt for hormone tx (diabetic)after hysterectomy (for other changes in cycle; light, then very heavy, then not there) and opted for surgery when fibroids were found.)Immediate surgical menopause resulted in symptoms even though before this my FSH and estradiol levels came back I was not peri.

Researched websites and found natural progesterone cream (bought at local health store)helped me a lot, but wound up on Lexapro (calming) too. Taken together, this was the optimum fix for me.
ALLERGIES AND MARYKAY PRODUCTS.

I am trying to find out why my eye keep watering (only on one side).   Has anyone been allergic to Mary Kay.  I have been using it for 20 years but for the last 5 months my eye won't stop watering.  Doctor said it must be allergy to something.  I do not wear mascara or eye shadow.
