how about pecan pie, use food processor for the nuts.
or a cheesy-egg dish, ie, keesh (however that is spelled).
eat bread. it will stick to the bread and go down.
I had this happen a lot.

Food stamps, WIC, food banks, churches, family...
There are many answers to that problem.

No one has the right to steal and writing a dishonorable check is stealing. It is called "theft of property".

My tax dollars support government programs to prevent people from going hungry and to provide for women, infants, and children. I make donations to food banks and churches, etc., for those who just need help as well.
Food for the staff and doctors, if you can afford it. Food is always a big hit in a doctor's off

One of the biggest perks I can remember when I worked in a doctor's office was when the drug reps or orthopedic equipment reps would cater lunch for the whole office just so they could meet with the docs.  The whole office would get so jazzed at the idea of free lunch.

If you can't afford to cater lunch, then I would do something like a muffin basket and bagels always go over well.  But food is your best bet.

Really???? I miss 'burgh food. Philly food is okay, but it

Processor
Athlon. 200 GB hard drive, 1024 RAM. E-machines are in my opinion an excellent workhorse, will go on and on.
First word processor. sm
The first WP I worked on had a huge disk driver, I mean the thing sat on the floor, and there is a reason they are called floppy disks.  The disks were at least 12 x 12.  We were terrified of that thing.  We had to "boot up" every morning, while it whirled and grunted and blinked, standing around nervously looking at the thing as though it were an alien ready to attack.  Too funny.
It really depends a lot on the processor and such
A lot of what makes the computer good or better is the type of processor, speed, memory, etc. You have to take these into consideration as well. My dad works on computers in Vegas and says they have the least trouble with Dells. Like I said though it depends on the specs of the computer and what all you need it for. I would recommend doing research and checking out information on these things I mentioned. I am about to buy a laptop and I am considering these things as well as the size and weight for that.

I also worked on a word processor
called a CPT (I think that was the brand).  It had no hard drive, but two 3-1/2 floppies (state of the art because they weren't the 5-1/4 or the big Raytheon 12" floppies you are probably talking about - the size of a record album - oops, albums are things of the past too).  Anyway, you would put your templates/abbreviations in the A drive and save to the B drive, but if you forgot and it glitched say "bye-bye" to your work!   Lots of shortcut/expansion keys though that you could program.  The monitor was odd-looking in that it was rectangular and bowed out at you and fit a whole page for your view.  Actually, it kind of made sense to be able to see a whole page at a time, it was just ugly looking - lol.  We had to go to San Francisco for 2 days of training on this thing.  I don't really even remember the specifics of the training - too long ago I guess.  It's fun to remember the old cave-man/papyrus days (as another poster mentioned).
Does anyone has a user's manual for a Dictaphone voice processor? sm

I am new to using a C-phone, and I would appreciate any help.  If anyone has a user's manual for a Dictaphone Voice Processor, I would really appreciate it.

Thanks!

eMachine with Athlon XP2400 processor, about 2 years old now. No problems.

xx

Thanks XXX. I found a "Microsoft Works Word Processor". You say I save those as files?

I do have a CD drive so if I can buy WORD like you mention, I can load it.

Do you think it would be beneficial in the long run to invest in WORD (maybe buy it at BEST BUY or something) and load it on my computer?  I am going to be doing lots of work, so better to use as good a program as I can as far as being able to SAVE stuff - There will be lots of opportunities for macros (or saving paragraphs, etc).  Whatever the term is these days to mean:  saving lots of words, LOL.

A newer computer with a dual core processor runs cool. No need for it.

Bread around 2.00...

per loaf, milk was $2.90 last night (gallon).  Our home cost $171,000, we paid $1450.00 per month for mtg payment.  Not totally clear on the taxes and other things.  My son goes to a private school, but have heard wonderful things about the public schools in the area.

Hope I helped you out!

Defragging & running spyware weekly helps the speed a bit, but more memory and a faster processor

All you need is a nice salad and bread. :)

tip for banana bread lovers. sm
I just disovered (thru a friend) that very ripe bananas can be frozen (in their skin) no freezer bag required to make banana bread on a future date.  I tried this, and it does work!  It is great!.  I love making banana bread for my family, but find that many times, the bananas are ripening too quick for my busy schedule.

Aside from the old favorite zucchini bread, sm
I love zucchini sliced and sauteed with onions, Rotel tomatoes, and crumbled cooked bacon (saute the zucchini in some of the bacon drippings if you can afford the fat/calories).
Been there - could not even afford a loaf of bread once sm
I mean really had not a penny for 2 weeks. We just emptied the cabinets and whatever was in there, we made do. Personally, I know what a terrible feeling that is, downright awful! Remember there is always light at the end of the tunnel. If you have anyone close to you who can help you out - that is one thing, but if not - you will have to make do with what you have.

Try the really cheap stores - the ones where usually you wouldn't even look at before. They have great deals, like Aldi, or the dollar stores, the outlet stores like Wonder, Hostess, etc.

I have to say that experience has humbled me and my family significantly.

Good luck - things will work out. Sometimes, we get wake up calls, and this might be yours. I think I have had quite a few already.
Okay, what is Jerk BBQ and the bread? sounds good!

you are lucky...they were my bread-and-butter at my past job...
very difficult at first, and I did NOT want to do them; then found out they were pretty much 'standardized' once you got used to the dictators, they say the same thing. Make templates, normals, whatever.

They are interesting, and I could make tons of lines in no time.

Then, I must have gotten 'bumped' when new managers came in and brought in other MTs, because they took them away from me. Never saw them again after that.

Ended up leaving that sorry job, anyway. Very bad experience...

BUT, those ERs paid my bills for 1 full year until then...

Best of luck.

Happy cooking.
That's what I was thinking, Eat bread or drink something nice and warm to help dissolve.

Toast the bread and then either grate in blender or on a manual cheese grater.

My hubby will always be the bread winner - I am close, but his salary tops mine. sm
My hubby works for one of the top Oil Companies in USA - with overtime - $150K a year for him. He has all the bennies, pension, 401K, profit sharing, etc. I am about 50K shy of his salary.
Tuna mac, green beans, bread slices. Very cheap and good.
All in the world tuna mac is, is a can or two of tuna drained and mixed in with the box kind of mac n' cheese. Serve with a can of green beans and a slice of bread.
I want my bread crumbs white so I let them dry up in the open overnight (winter brings low humidity)
a very good way not to waste stale bread (aside from pudding).
Seafood pasta and olive oil garlic sauce, red leaf salad, homemade bread with sun dried tomato
along with a big glass of white wine.  MMMMMM
Bread machine, coffee grinder, George Foreman, waffle maker, blah, blah (sm)

I go through every once in awhile and "clean"away the old Christmas gifts.

Dog food
Try switching to a better dog food, such as Nutro. Also at her age she deserves all the best in life and I would even consider giving her a meal once a day of chicken and rice or beef and rice, very inexpensive also. The table scrap thing, although stated by the vets all these years, is a bunch of bunk in my opinion. Dogs like a varied diet just as humans. Just so long as it is whole natural foods, not processed. You would love you to death to give her this small pleasure at her age. Good luck.
I think it has less to do with food....
and more to do with activity.  I'm 45 and remember eating Ring Dings and chips and all kinds of junk food back when I was a kid.  Granted we hardly ever had fast food, but moms back then didn't exactly cook according to Weight Watchers.. We had spaghetti, meatloaf, fried chicken, all that good stuff.  However, what did we do in our spare time back then?  WE PLAYED OUSIDE!  We didn't have organized activities or play dates, we just went outside and played, all day long if we could.  I remember being dragged in at dusk because I didn't want to stop playing, riding bikes, skating, etc.  What are kids doing today?  Sitting on their rears watching movies and playing X-Box.  Maybe that has more to do with childhood obesity than diet.  Food for thought anyhow.
food?
AMEN to the mexican food and margarita!
food
Baked beans - 1/2 cup is considered a serving and for the hash browns, 4 ounces would be considered a serving. You can add or substract from this to make it come out. Better to have a little bit left over than not enough at all. Good luck

food
I totally agree. Also, I just got an awesome recipe that is a dip for fruit. I would get a fruit tray and make this dip. I took it over for a July 4th cookout and it was a hit. It's best with strawberries. Anyway, the dip is one 8oz package of cream cheese, one 7oz jar of marshmallow cream and 1 teaspoon of vanilla. You can even add food color to it if you want to.
Food lol
I have some doctor friends/clients and once in a while I book a traveling coffee place for them. Then they can get coffee, hot chocolate and muffins or something that they can pick out.
More food
I think it's a lot like illegal immigrants taking away our work, but this way they didn't have the moving expense of immigrating!
