Is anyone familiar with or use the Vianeta platform?  McAfee Virus Scan was downloaded onto my computer and since then I cannot seem to get the Shorthand/Word Expander portion of Vianeta to work.  Any ideas, anybody?

Your husband tech guys are not the bible. You have go give access for tech sm
support to get onto your computer. Just sit there and watch everything they do. If you still feel uncomfortable do not take the job.
Agree. You could be a Surgical Tech or Respiratory Therapy or a Med. Tech. nm

VIANETA
I have used the product for years - word based - line count available for each document but not right away - uses Shorthand as expander. I think it is user-friendly.
Vianeta, sm

Line count is NOT always available with Vianeta.  When I was at Interpro, they used Vianeta and you could not track line count with them.  Also, once you sent the job on its way, it is gone, no way to get it back without going though a management person.  The spell check was horrible.  Also, with a program were you transfer the jobs into a folder to work from, you can work even if internet is down.  With Vianeta, if internet was down, you didn't work.  I would say Vianeta is NOT user friendly.

Vianeta
Not user-friendly.
Breaks down constantly.

Big piece of crap.
Vianeta
My Vianeta platform (version 5.2.0.12) and its earlier version came with Shorthand which I use constantly, of course. Don't know about any others. Also find the Vianeta (normals) template features (creation, insertion, revision) easy and helpful.
Vianeta
If you want to read a heated exchange regarding Vianeta, go to the company board and skip over to page 3 on 12/06/05 (toward the top of that page). You will see several versions of the spelling there so don't sweat the small stuff.

I was transliterator in that discussion....nearly got jumped for liking my own system. Got accused of being a recriter before it was all over. Follow the thread with this in mind: After all was said and done and the dust had settled on the name-calling and side-taking, we determined that the pro and con posters were using different versions of Vianeta.

In my last post (third from the bottom) I wrote quite a detailed dissertation on exactly what typing on my platform is like (version 5.2.0.12). Most definitely it is like Microsoft Word. I believe the productivity is honest. If you are responding to a current job listing for a Florida company that uses Vianeta, you will be using the same version of Vianeta that I am.

With regard to productivity, I know I noticed in some of the company's most recent ads, they were offering some account that actually paid for spaces. Mine Vianeta accounts don't, and that is becoming a real issue to me. I'm on IC and that particular issue may depend on whether or not you are hiring as FT...but I am only speculating on that.

Look before you leap and get that specific information nailed down up front.

Would appreciate any feedback you might have once you have read through that thread. Good luck with your decision.

Had a problem downloading. The cause was too much junk on my computer. Ended up having to do restore which was not as bad a I originally thought.  Sometimes this is the only resolution.
Vianeta
Any of out there tired of Vianeta try a new platform that actually work great, isn't run by a competing transcription company and is US owned and operated. www.transcriptiondigital.com
For those that use Vianeta
Are you speaking about the "shortcuts" built into Vianeta when you say "do you have to manually enter all that info or is it imported"?

vianeta
It's okay. Goes down a lot compared to other programs but usually goes right back up. A little annoying.
For those who LIKE Vianeta
Per prior post:  I would like to hear from those MTs who have used this software and like working with it.
Vianeta
I have Vianeta based and I don't see a "tags" key at the bottom. Any other ideas? I can go in and remove the "ghost" space, but that is very time consuming because it happens on alot of them!!
Vianeta
Anyone with experience on this platform care to share the pros and cons, please.
Vianeta Platform
I am interested in the Vianeta Platform.  Have any of you ever used this platform, and if so, can you enlighten me?
Problem with Vianeta

The IT guy for a MTSO tried installing it on my computer several times and it would not work.  Never did figure it out.

Vianeta Users

I have read old posts from users who do not like Vianeta.  I would like to hear from those MTs who have used this software and like working with it.  Is it better since the new owners took over?  Do you prefer Vianeta to any other software?  What is your favorite feature? I am not a Vianeta representative, just interested in your opinion.

Thanks!

help with Vianeta and Shorthand

Not sure if this can be done or not but here goes.  I use Vianeta platform for my work and also do other work in MS Word.  My ShortHand file is incorporated into Vianeta platform so I do not have access to it when in MS Word (use auto correct).  Is there anyway to copy Shorthand from the Vianeta platform and either put it in auto correct or another free word Expander program?  Only legal ways please.

Can is use Vianeta and Bayscribe on same PC?
I'm going to be working for 2 separate MT companies very soon.  One company uses Vianeta and the other uses Bayscribe.  Does anyone know if there will be a conflict on my computer with 2 programs running at the same time?  Each program uses a different foot pedal.
Info about Vianeta software?
Is is user-friendly and productive.  Is the line count available for each document.  How is the spell check and abbreviation expander, or can you use your own.  Is it word-based?  Thanks
Problems downloading Vianeta...
Has anyone had problems trying to download the Vianeta program onto their computer?  I have been at this for over 3 weeks and am now facing the prospect of having to do a full system restore on my PC.  I was wondering if anyone who uses this platform has had problems and if so, offer a solution other than a system restore.
Vianeta...does anyone work with this software?
nm
For those that use Vianeta, do you have to manually enter
all that info or is it imported?   Don't know how you'd make any money if you had to enter it all manually.  Reminds me of the antiquated YOG cottage program.
Anyone know of MTSO's using Vianeta platform?

Anyone know of MTSO's using Vianeta platform?  Could you let me know who they are?

Thanks

NetMed in Cadillac, MI uses Vianeta.
nm
I liked Vianeta, too. In our application we could work offline, I do believe.
Some days, I wish we had Vianeta back again....

There were some downsides, especially if you had to get in on the management/QA side, but as an MT it was dandy.
Raising hand,,,, I vote Vianeta, too. nm
:o
NetMed used Vianeta when I worked for them 4-5 years ago. sm
It is time consuming and not very easy to get from point A to point B. Whether or not they still use it, I don't know.
Vianeta had bad spell check. Copy & pasted

I like Sten-Tel, working out of folders. I have worked Vianeta before and it was slow and

Med-Tech

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone had any info on Med-Tech in Lousiana. I didn't see any good or bad in the archives. Thanks!

Jen

Med-Tech

Hi Bobbie,

Thanks for your input. Their schedule didn't work for me anyway-they were going to hire me without even doing an interview! I hope you had better luck in whatever you chose next.

Jen

Did you like being a vet tech? I'd like
to hear more about it, if you don't mind.
oh yes, but the tech guy did all that for me.
Can't really help you much in that way, but you can get it online, I think that's what he did.  It has junk mail files, suspected junk mail files, and then of course my "wanted" email file.  I'm not very computer "savvy" so that's why I needed help.  But it looks to me like you can just go to SpamBayes and load it. I know it has a "wizard" to load it.  Good luck because this spam thing has gotten way out of hand.  Should be a law against it!  Maybe someone else has heard of it, maybe try the technical help board if you can't get it to work.  I'm sorry that I can't help much more than that.  But yes, in answer to your question, you can set up your email as you would like.  Good luck, and hope this helps.
Hey, you tech MT's, help please.

I got a LinkSys router at Wal-Mart and with tech help, I got my Vista computer and other computer going at the same time; however, I unplugged the cable from the phone jack one night, as it was storming, and could not get both computers back on line after that.  I actually have returned the router and doing without for now.

I would like your experiences and any help that you could give me. I have used cable router before, but not for phone line -- DSL.  Thanks.

I would think the tech could do it. At my
former job they were able to switch them from Medscribe to DQS.
Must say, as former vet tech myself, that

need tech help

maybe posted this on wrong board earlier:

I have a daughter vet in another state that would like me to transcribe her work.  Is there is way to do this via digital and/or a call-in dictation system without going through an MTSO?  Any suggestions? I'd sure love to be able to do that for her!

Need tech help, anyone!
Help!  I have my expansions in Word 2003 autoaorrect, called MSO1033.acl file.  I wanted to transport this file to another computer using Word 2007.  I got it over to the other computer, have installed it in the proper directory, and have renamed the Word 2003 file so it is called MSO.acl, which is what Word 2007 calls it.  Yet, when I open Word 2007 on the destination computer, my expansions are not there.  The file is showing in the directory, verified by my last date of change before I moved it, and is more than three times the size of a normal .acl file.  Can anyone tell me what boat I'm missing here?  Thanks, appreciate it.
What about an x-ray tech? Seems like there

MT becoming RAD TECH

I have heard MTs switching over to nursing, coding/billing, but has anyone else considered training for Radiology Technology.  I was considering this but found out the course work is very intense for 2-3 years while working in the hospital as an intern.  Can't do it now but still considering it in the future.  I hear the demand is only growing in this field and can't see it being outsourced.

Med-Tech, Mediscript in LA

Any info on these companies would be appreciate-I haven't found very much yet. Thanks!

Jen

TRS, SoftScript, Med-Tech

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has worked for any of these companies. I'm down to making my final choice. Thanks!

Jen

What's the tech number?

What's the tech number?

Tech support will help you set up a
shortcut on your desktop to access your ACO (shortcut) file if you ask them.
Re: tech support
I don't know if it gets back to our supervisors, but I wish it would get back to theirs! What I do now is tell the "real winner" support person that I have to hang up suddenly. Then, I call right back. I suddenly get a different one who is a whiz and very helpful. It's worth the hang-up and call back unless you have to wait 45 minutes for the next "helpful tech." ;-)
Help on tech board please!

Seriously need help on the Tech Board
Cannot open hyperlinks.  Popups open as blank white pages.  Can't find help on Microsoft.  HELP!!!
Check with tech there. sm
I don't remember if I asked or not, but I did import my shorthand files into ExText, so I didn't have to start from scratch.

Good luck! I hope you're as happy with Amphion as I am!
Cardiac tech here....

Not sure what you mean by weird heart murmur.  That should have been checked at least with echocardiogram.  I'm thinking mitral valve prolapse which can cause chest pain and exercise symptoms but is generally benign.

At  your age and being female it is highly unlikely it is cardiac disease.  They would probably do an EKG while you're having the pain and check enzymes.

Chest pain is very very common and often is not cardiac.  It's cause is unclear, sometimes costochondritis, sometimes GI, sometimes just unknown.

You still need to see a physician very soon to determine if NSAIDs or other simple meds (Protonix) are the answer or more tests are needed.
