Thanks so much to everyone who responded to this post.  I got several good leads.  It seems that the bad places to work now greatly outnumber the good places, and I already have enough horror stories to make a scary movie, so thanks again, I plan to check each lead out thoroughly!

I read one post by a young MT who stated she was happy with her job, and she had enough money to buy a used minivan - bless her soul, that's great for her, but those of us who have been in business for a long time (15 years for me) have gotten used to having.... well, brand new minivans, a nice place to live, benefits and even some money in the bank in the salad days of the 90s and early 2000s.  The rapid decline in pay, forcing us into VR (with a 50% pay cut), outsourcing and making us all ICs shows a disrespect, even near contempt, coming from management that is bound to drive a lot of people into other fields.  The MT field is currently losing a bunch of its best people - Good luck to all displaced MTs, we really need it!
