I would defintely wear a summery party sundress because it will probably be hot. Around here all the gifts are money. Since you are travelling there, I don't know. Do you have any other Hispanic friends that you can ask for the customs in Texas. In CA, I give $100 because I am very good friends with the parents and those are the only ones that I have been invited to go to, as well as help put on. These are the most fun parties that I have ever attended. I hope you go and have a great time.
