A lot of us have had to learn the hard way.  That is why now I pick and choose.  If the IC job isn't truly IC, then I move on to another job ad, if I need a job.  For the time being thank goodness I've got a full plate.  I am an IC.  I doubled my salary so my job of 16 years that was outsourced just gave me the "kick" in the bahonkas to get on my own and do some major soul searching.  I love my job, so I've decided to stick it out.  I cannot live in the past.  I have been burned, but I will survive!  I have thrived once I got past the "wow I can't believe they did that to me attitude, and, hopefully, will thrive in the future.  We live in a world of such technology with spell check, digital dictation, and VR that it just gives me more of an opportunity to explore all of those avenues if and when I need to work.  I feel sorry for new MTs that have no clue as to how they can be taken advantage of in this industry.  I also know of MTs that have been in the biz for 30+ years and have lost accounts and go with a national that does bait and switch and pay squat for the knowledge and expertise required in this job.

The bottom line is, if you want to make more money, type faster... sad isn't it?  Oh well, such is life!  I hear ya' though up there...  I really do...
