You are off on your calculations unless you

In Reply to: Gosh - 2.5 cents a minute is only $1.50 an hour. - Imake about $25 an hour. Of course,

type as fast as the dictator. Very few people transcribe 1 minute of dictation in 1 minute, more like 2 to 4 minutes, so it would cost a lot more than 1.50 an hour for your LD service.

calculations
did you actually find out how they supposedly came up with those figures? I called that information line that was in the letter and of course got a very ambiguous and "I needed to talk to my supervisor." what the heck did they put that # in there if they can't answer your questions?? Anyway, i sent an email to payroll stating that I wanted written proof of exactly how they came up with the figure and she responded saying that corporate said that it would take at least 2-3 weeks (which we all know means more like 2-3 months). We have a right to have documentation on this and besides that where's the interest that we should get as well???
8 cpl calculations
I normally work a shorter shift - about 3 hours typically. When I was trying to work longer shifts, my LPH rate suffered so dramatically that it wasn't worth the physical pain of it all.

At the MQ-corporate policy rate of 150 lines per hour, at 8 cpl, that would be $12.00 per hour. MQ of course has another breed of employee that is required to type 100 LPH. That would be $8.00 per hour.

$12 x 8 = $96 for 8 hours.

$8 x 8 = $64 for 8 hours.

On a 3-hour shift, I can hit 200+ LP, which is $16/hour. I used to be able to do that for 8 hours, but not any more.

I'm pretty sure hospital in-house jobs (when and where you can find them) would fall somewhere in that $12-16/hour range. Not positive though.
Wondering how we can know that their calculations

are correct?

Thanks for your response. Have been on DQS for about same amount of time as you, so curious how much your check was. Can you not elaborate on the contents of the letter accompanying the check? Thanks

Why don't you call TSI and ask them if your calculations are correct
--- if not, to please explain how to convert.  They should be able to tell you.  Good luck.
