You've GOTTA be kidding.....
Gastric bypass is an elective surgery. Any surgeon foolish enough to perform it, with the knowledge that the patient was not NPO prior to, is setting themself up for a major (no chance of winning) law suit. Moreover, any patient that would not adhere to the NPO stipulation prior to the surgery should not have passed the required psychological testing given as part of the pre-surgical work-up.
Gotta love that! - nm

Gotta love em, or want to strangle them

I transcribed a dictation earlier with the word salpingo-oophorectomy in it.  Now, this is not a new word for me, I have transcribed it many times.  The funny part is that later in the document the dictator said the word "chunks"...and then spelled it out!!!!  All I could do was laugh.  It just makes you wonder about their thought processes sometimes.

Yup, me too - 25 yrs experience - Gotta love it! $$$$$

You gotta love 'em
I had a CNP who prounced epistaxis without the "s" - epeetaxis.  I won't even tell you what she did with some drug names.  The really fun one was when she stumbled three times over cerumen, never did pronounce it correctly and then spelled it for me.
Gotta love the dictators
The "Um, Um, Um, Um........" drives me batty!  I have one lady that will seriously have a 15 minute report and probably 5 minutes of it is dictation, the other 10 minutes is "umming" and shuffling of paperwork.  So aggravating.
Gotta love the attitude. Wonder if it would be the same if it involved

Most likely not.

gotta love your ID "MQ Slave" says it all.
Tooooo funny.  My daughter stopped in the other day and headed right to my office.  She said, "OH MY GAWD!  MOM'S IN THE KITCHEN!"
Newbies, you gotta love 'em
That bubble will soon burst! I don't make 16 cents per line, and I have 10 years of experience in all specialties, acute care, ER, clinic...Ah, to remember the newbie days...I had that "go get'em" attitude. I miss those carefree days.

the ultimate...

WHATEVER!

That's the kids answer to every question, comment, suggestion, etc! Drives me crazy!

The ultimate goal
is accurate, timely reports to facilitate patient care, and whatever comes along to accomplish this will be used.  We know it won't happen overnight, but , as we all know, new methods are being tried as we speak.  Nothin' stays the same.
The Ultimate Dream Job

The key to deciphering your post is found in the term, "HOURLY,"

Almost 99% of us work on PRODUCTION, not HOURLY.  You have a dream job, you can believe that.

That sort of thing doesn't happen for the masses.  Lucky you.

Not a "real" job
I was talking at dinner last night about how expensive the braces will be for my son.  My mother-in-law was over for dinner and she said, "Well, you can always go get you a little job at the diner."  She knows I work at home.  I think she knows I am a medical transcriptionist.  I don't think she really has a clue what I do!  Maybe, it was her way of complementing my lasagna?  LOL.
They also were in PA ( SE near Philly) - nm

Food stamps, WIC, food banks, churches, family...
There are many answers to that problem.

No one has the right to steal and writing a dishonorable check is stealing. It is called "theft of property".

My tax dollars support government programs to prevent people from going hungry and to provide for women, infants, and children. I make donations to food banks and churches, etc., for those who just need help as well.
Food for the staff and doctors, if you can afford it. Food is always a big hit in a doctor's off

One of the biggest perks I can remember when I worked in a doctor's office was when the drug reps or orthopedic equipment reps would cater lunch for the whole office just so they could meet with the docs.  The whole office would get so jazzed at the idea of free lunch.

If you can't afford to cater lunch, then I would do something like a muffin basket and bagels always go over well.  But food is your best bet.

Same here 1+ pots-ultimate addict nm

The doc who signs off on it has ultimate responsibility.

It's the way everybody acts like I don't have a "real"

"REAL" transcriptionist

I hate to tell you but not all "REAL" Transcriptionist pass these test as you "PROMISE".  There are people who do not test well but are still qualified to get the job done.  I am one of those people.  I don't test well, but I am a great transcriptionist.  I have a great job working at home that I love and am doing a wonderful job for them.  They understand that there are people out there who know what to do but have struggles with testing.

Where U at????? I'm a misplaced Pittsburgher in Philly too!!!
Moved here 2 years ago but still love 'dem Stillers!
I get it, "real job" as in you can actually CLOCK OUT AND GO HOME!
I know exactly what you mean.
Fresh out of school with no "real"

experience you have no clue.  You don't know about various platforms, equipment needed, insurance, taxes, contracts, not to mention your transcription skills are limited and you have no QA skills.

Unfortunately there are many like you who seemed to have not investigated this business and how hard it is to get a job before taking classes and then end up in the same position as you, graduating and no chances of a job.

Philly's too simple to get what you're saying.

you are supposed to make the child ready for the "real world" If they cannot handle a little
you are supposed to make the child ready for the "real world" If they cannot handle a little spanking, then what will they do if mugged, raped, etc.

they cannot emotionally cope with this. Spanking is not that big of deal unless you take to extremes.

Would you rather have your child end up either victimized or being the victim? Life is hard. If you keep the "Bad" stuff away from your child, you are not protecting her, you are setting them up for more harm.

Tough love works. Sometimes you have to get tough.
He is an awesome performer. I saw him and Billy Joel together in Philly. Loved every minute of it!
Have fun!
MQ - I gotta tell ya
MQ is okay to work for..I have worked at many inhospital positions and transcription company positions and MQ is no worse than other companies I have worked for..
Gotta see this
Go to TheFreshAirShop.com. This is not a scam.

Just gotta say...lol.

Gotta be ham.
We have ham and lots of sides.
you gotta be
kidding! 90??
I just gotta say...
sometimes saying "ain't" just feels good... sort of like letting off a good swear word (fiddlesticks just doesn't do the trick)... when I'm feeling rebelious saying I AIN'T gonna do something feels way more satisfying than saying I'm not going to
gotta ask

Okay, this makes sense.  So what about people who live near the poles who have extended hours of darkness?  Will they rule Alaska at being high risk?  I knew a woman who had lived there in the service and she said she did her gardening at 2 AM because it wasn't dark.  They adjusted.

Personally, I work better at night and sleep better during the day.  I am sharp at night and can produce way more.  I can sleep deeply, restfully during the day but not at night.  I seem to be the opposite.  I've been this way since I was a kid.  Maybe I came out of the womb too late in the day!!!!

gotta tell you this one

My neighbor retired from Magnavox forcefully when they left and went to Mexico.  He said there is a law that if a part is missing, they don't have to pay the import tax, so they purposefully ship their items with a knob missing!  It really ticked us off this happens.  It wasn't this administration that started this whole thing either..I won't get into a politics discussion because everyone's beliefs are their own, but just doing a little research will show it.

I also have an aunt whose husband retired from Ford and she said they got a letter if the company does go under, she will lose her little pension check and all her medical benefits.  I've seen these companies go under then suddenly appear again once they've stopped all former benefis, which is a crock IMO.  Seems like now it's back to the old way, everybody has to stay in the same house and everybody work just to get by. I don't know how minimum wage people make it.

This has gotta be a put-on, right?

One of us is just yanking everybody else's chain with this 'I am most wonderful and experienced MT but I don't speak it the language' lingo?  Come on, are we on Candid Computer?

War of the Worlds -- You gotta see it!!

I just saw it tonight....FABULOUS!!  I admit I was skeptical because on Rotten Tomatoes (the website I go to see critics' notes first) it was falling and there's been ups and downs about it...AND because as much as I have always loved Tom Cruise he has really gone off the deep end in my opinion.

However, the movie was fabulous.  I remember the old black and white movie too.  Tom played his part incredibly; as did the little girl (forget her name); and Tim Robbins, too.  Really was something.

Go see it!

Sorry.....gotta say my husband, especially when I see
him throwing ball with my son or reading a book to our little girl.......then 10 minutes later when he's leaving his dirty clothes in the bathroom, I could just kill him.....LOL.
You gotta hear this!
