I was very worried about this for my teen daughter who went on Lexapro recently, but amazingly, it seems to be working well for her, even with it being just the first antidepressant she has tried (and she's even ''clicking'' with her first talk therapist too).  I had read several online reports of it causing weight gain, but then again, also some of it causing weight loss (especially for those who had weight gain on other antidepressants before trying this particular one).

It's all so individualistic, in terms of metabolism, etc., what will work for each person.  You need a good PCP/psychiatrist who is willing to work with you in terms of experimentation with different meds (maybe even more a mood stabilizer rather an ''antidepressant,'' etc.) until you find the one/combo that works right for you.
