waxing with honey bee wax. u can buy it at Sally's Beauty Supply. it's $10 a jar that will last u months plus the strips which are $10 and the wooden sticks. u just feel a quick tug. the redness goes away within an hour, maybe less. it'll last u a week. it's the treatment i like the best from creams, bleaching, and tweezing.

I am post menopausal and deal with upper lip facial hair.  I have tried several things such as creams and tweezing (ouch) and shaving.  I'm not happy with any of them.  What's a woman to do?  I can't just leave it.  It's too dark and too much.  I can't afford expensive treatments.  Isn't there a decent product out there for this problem?
facial hair
I never had any facial hair until my doggie tore part of my top lip almost off; after the stitches came out and my lip scarred, suddenly i have a lot of fuzz around it.  Drives me nuts!

Electrolysis.
I use the facial hair remover from Avon. sm
I'm allergic to Nair but I can use the Avon hair removal products. It lasts about a month and no skin irritation.
best product for facial hair removal?

What is the best product for removal upper lip hair? I have tried Sally Hansen but not much luck.  I have not tried bleaching yet because I really would prefer to have it gone!  Before I spend more money, can you tell me what works for you?  Thanks much.

Hair products...
I remember hearing a rumor that Prell or Pert would turn your hair green. I'm a brunette, never happened. Also, what ever happened to "creme/cream rinse"? That's what it was called in the 80's. In my Aqua Net days, I could make my bangs stand up about 2 inches, my best girlfriend's bangs were 4 inches high! Wow! I love this. Let's keep going.
Laser Hair Removal (for dark hair)
I've tried Epilators (basically an electronic tweezer) and wax, but nothing beats Laser HR. It's a bit pricy and takes a few treatments to be 100% effective, but definitely works.
I use a mild, nondrying, unscented facial soap and
Oil of Old Lady for sensitive skin.
I asked people if they can tell me the difference between facial and fascial.
:P
Use facial and fascial, there and their, and other commonly confused words.

I have to say that I buy a lot of products from TVPS and have never had a

problem.  Before calling the BBB and credit card company, why not try again to contact the company?  People are always so quick to jump and complain to the BBB, when situations can be resolved.  I would suggest calling and asking to speak to Tom Wilkes directly.  His extension is 101.

BTW, I do not work for TVPS, I own an MTSO and only purchase from them.

Weird MT products
I am sure that with equality of hiring acts, ergonomics, handicap working issues, everything that can be thought of is out in cyberspace somewhere.  I think it is just a matter of surfing the web til you find these products.  I have seen one-handed keyboards that look similar to a joy sticks, as well as other configurations.
Laser hair removal. Has anyone tried laser hair removal on their face and if so, did it work?

natural products helped me - sm
I feel for you. Different story, (though same in that tubes tied, PMS-crazy 10 out of 30 day each month, teens) but maybe this might help you. I could not opt for hormone tx (diabetic)after hysterectomy (for other changes in cycle; light, then very heavy, then not there) and opted for surgery when fibroids were found.)Immediate surgical menopause resulted in symptoms even though before this my FSH and estradiol levels came back I was not peri.

Researched websites and found natural progesterone cream (bought at local health store)helped me a lot, but wound up on Lexapro (calming) too. Taken together, this was the optimum fix for me.
ALLERGIES AND MARYKAY PRODUCTS.

I am trying to find out why my eye keep watering (only on one side).   Has anyone been allergic to Mary Kay.  I have been using it for 20 years but for the last 5 months my eye won't stop watering.  Doctor said it must be allergy to something.  I do not wear mascara or eye shadow.

check out entirelypets.com. On the products I use
they are significantly cheaper than petrx.  If your order is a certain amount ($100 I think and mine always are) you get free shipping.  They also send me e-coupons every month $3.00 off $45/order, $5 off $100 something+ order, etc.  They also have sales.  Their selection of products is excellent.  You may have to type in a product in the search box as you may not find what you are looking for in their menu, but they have had every med my dog/cats are one and they are multiple.  They also have things like sprays and shampoos that my vet doesn't carry, that I have found to work better than what my vet carries.  They also have homeopathic products.  I have ordered 3 times without problem, ships the next day via priority mail.   I have yet to order a product that I need a prescription for.  One prescription med my dog is on is not available from my vet and I have to get at the local pharmacy and they are about 25 cents higher at entirelypets than the drug store.  They also sell them by the pill so you have to be careful and read the fine print.  The pills are $6.00 and I thought the first time it was $6.00/bottle that I paid $180 for at the pharmacy - LOL.
Stedman's make their products so you have
to have the CD to install and the newer programs only allow 2 installs.  You can move other programs by copying to CD or a flash drive.   I've done this with 3 computers, but it doesn't work with Stedman's.
Handmade-new law for products for children

If anyone is thinking of making handmade items for children as a sideline you should read this new Consumer Protection Agcy law.  Good idea, keeping our children safe from lead but not a well thought out law and will put small businesses out of business.

Craig's list products
Is buying off a website like that, or from another person, like pirating?  Most likely cannot get a license to use this and would be a waste of money??
Boycotting their products/services - SM
wherever and whenever possible.  To make this an effective deterrent to these companies, it would have to gain large media-wide attention, encouraging Americans to boycott companies who offshore and their products, services or anything else they have to offer - might start by enlightening them (U.S. consumers) - "They need YOU more than you need THEM, so make yourself heard! OR ELSE - WHERE WILL YOUR CHILDREN WORK???

I got a face full of acne from their products....
along time ago. I can no longer use Marykay facial products. I also get cold sores from "all" lipsticks. I only know of one other person like this and she is a cousin of mine.
skin care products and allergies

I used another product that is sold on QVC by a lady doctor in September.  Overnight I developed a horrible burn on my face that nearly closed both eyes.  My skin was so red under my eyes that I looked like I had two black eyes.  I believe it was a chemical burn caused by some ingredient in that product.  It is now December 12, and I still suffer from a burning sensation and very red cheeks and sensitive eyes.  I have not used this product since that first episode, but I have used other products from other companies, with the same result.  I believe most of the upscale cosmetic and skin care products must contain the same ingredient that is too harsh for sensitive skin (obviously) and that may cause an allergic reaction.

I used bad judgment in not seeing a doctor with the first episode, thinking it would just go away.  Well it does go away and cycles and recycles again and again, with the same results.   I am not going through another cycle, and it is at the stage of just returning.  It will get increasingly worse over the next two or three days and then start to subside, leaving my skin feeling like leather, peeling slightly under my eyes.  I have bags under my eyes that I never had before.

I guess sooner or later I'll just get sick of all this and finally get a referral to a dermatologist before I suffer permanent, irreversible damage, if that has not already occurred.

I believe perhaps the ingredient is either salicylic, glycolic, or  lactic acid, which seems to be the hot ingredient in skin care these days.  I've used retinol products in the past without a problem, but I guess we can all develop allergies to anything.  I've also used glycolic acid cleansers in the past without a problem.  Again, allergies can certainly crop up in anything.

Incidentally, I have a friend who used Avon night cream recently who woke up with a face full of pimples, too!

wow, hard to believe that Mary Kay products would cause allergies - sm
when they test on animals!!!! They have voiced to the public that they WILL NOT stop testing on animals.

And before anyone jumps down my throat, I am being sarcastic about my subject line. The point I'm trying to make is that Mary Kay tests ALL OF THEIR products NEW AND OLD on animals. Part of their reason was to "prevent allergies in humans" .... rrrrriiiiggghhttt

also lodge complaint with BBB in their state, their state's atty. general, PayPal, and any other internet consumer watchdog you can find (there are a lot) Be sure the company knows you are doing it. Your bank should be able to supply you with information about their company if they have already taken your money.
Tylenol words best for me. Glade products should be banned, the worst.
Tylenol words the best for me, have to take LOTS to ward off headaches that become 17 on a 1-10 scale.

Glade Products are the worst for me. They are to terrible and ought to be outlawed. I cannot be around them AT ALL and have to leave if they are used anywhere, in churches, homes, etc. Apparently some people are not at all sensitive to them, but they ought to know that other people are very horrendously affected. It is all chemical, either you are sensitive or you aren't, and the people who are not just simply are not. But the people who are suffer real pain and so I think no one should use them. Why would you want to expose the people who are sensitive? Just my opinion.
Drastic under bidding for products. Single handedly took out Rubbermaid
after demanding a price reduction that Rubbermaid could not meet and pay for costs. This was after Wal-Mart basically caused Rubbermaid to increase production to meet demands to the point Rubbermaid had grown significantly, all based on its Wal-Mart sales.

There is SO MUCH MORE!!!

When a U.S. based manufacturing company (RCA?) took to court a manufacturer based in China (television) for dumping on the U.S. market a product that was priced so low that it was causing the company to lose millions. They won but when they looked at the court documentation for this China based manufacturer, Wal-Mart was listed as a one of the companies siding with China manufacturer.

In one generation, this type of business could place the U.S. in a precarious situation in many respects. Also, by doing this, in one generation, a new customer base will be created in other countries and these people will be just like the Americans, wanting better for their children.

Anyone ever tried Dual Action Cleanse or any other colon cleansing products? sm
The infomercial was not pretty, and this guy focused way too much on BMs and such, but said that John Wayne died with 42 pounds of undigested material in his colon ... yuck!  Supposedly, you use this product and feel tons of energy and all that ... wondered if it was just more hype or maybe someone had actually tried it.  ?
does anyone know about a 3-limit install on DocShuttle, Wavplayer and other Bytescribe products? sm
they told me after three installs, even if I buy a new computer, I have to buy the program all over again, at $100 a pop. Has anyone else ever been told this? Sounds like a rip off to me.
try eliminating diary products from your diet for 4-5 days and see if it helps. sm
usually it could be something you are ingesting causing it and milk is a #1 problem.
Instant Text and Stedman's are compatible. Not sure of any combo products that would work.

Hair
Just be careful about mentioning Wal Mart. It has kind of been a bad word lately on the boards. I do not shop there a lot because my husband is a firefighter in the union but I do not blame people for shopping there because we do have to eat.
Cause I like my hair!
Worked in advertising for over 8 years as a commercial producer, and it (my hair) had started falling out!! Got burned out fast! Also, this field was more conducive to raising children - no travel and I was home for them!
Hair......
Thanks everyone for all your replies! So much good advice - I'll sleep on it and think it all over.
hair
I got a wild hair last week and went and had my hair cut really super shirt in a chic style, so hair blowing in my face won't be a problem.  I am so psyched and ready to go buy the convertible.  Hopefully by Monday, I'll have it! :)
hair cut
I paid 24.99 the other day + a $5 tip at Fantastic Sams - shampoo/haircut/style. That was last week. The cut was terrible, so I asked for a redo by another stylist - she did a great job - so I gave her a $5 tip - so in all - that would be $34.99. I always go to the beauty college to have my hair highlighted - $30 bucks - $13 for a machine facial and $15 for a back treatment - both better than a massage - being cocooned up in those warm blankets. Great.
bad hair
You are hysterical, Belle! Thank heavens I have short hair or I'd never answer the door!
LOL!!! Me too, except for the hair.
but all these things are kept hidden when working. You'll only see them when I'm not working.
I'm sorry too, hair-ball

i hate to tell you but it doesn't get any better. been with them for over 3 years -- i still have my hair, but have lost my sanity!!

Hair color
I use Balsam (its a greenish box), the cheapest I've found, about 2.97 at WalMart. I use it every 3-4 weeks, and it covers as well (sometimes better) than the salon colors do. I'm a big believer in pampering myself, and TRY to do it often (lately, I've been failing miserably LOL).

The first time or two you might have to just see if it works, and it might take a couple of times (no matter which color or which brand) to completely cover. If you want a 'frosted' look, get a frosting cap and add color to the pulled through hair, makes a great effect. If you don't like it, just color over it :)
I always do OTC hair color.
Colorsilk works really well for me, I like all the Loreal products best. Someone else mentioned Balsom or something (greenish box), this made my hair feel like straw. That shows you that different things work for different people. If you decide to try it yourself, do the pre-testing to make sure it will work for you. That way you don't end up with a whole ruined head of hair. Just clip a small lock from somewhere where it won't be noticed and test first to make sure. Best of luck.
Do whatever you want, - maybe a flower in your hair? but you don't have to have anything
