a hard time believe that MTs are no longer going to be needed. I have 7-1/2 years experience, so I am not necessarily an "old school" MT. I just see so many ads here where I live in the Bay Area looking for Medical Transcriptionists and paying well I might add. In addition, I know someone had posted this before, but even the Occupational Outlook Handbook said that there is going to be a greater than average demand for MTs in the coming years due to an aging population. From the posts, it sounds like physician offices are hopping more on EMR to save money. In part, and maybe I'll get some comments on it, I really feel for the physicians and nurses. They are being pushed to do things that they should not be worrying about. They should just be able to focus on patient care, not entering patient data.
