Auto test entries
Does anybody know how to "save" one's own private auto text entries (within Microsoft Word) and also how to later print-out this file?  Thanks in advance!
Doesn't work that way with me. I just did a test from my other email addy to the other one, decl

Doesn't a test that takes over an hour and a half seem excessive?

That doesn't matter. A quick blood test, NOT 3 hours, would have settled that question.

Mine was from my high school test, back in the dark ages.

it doesn't with mine, but I believe Shorthand (sm)
instructs folks to turn off the autocorrect feature. Another thing that ShortHand instructs, is that you load Shorthand last, i.e., when you start up your computer and start up your programs, start up Shorthand last and see if that doesn't fix the what's going on. hth!
Mine doesn't work either
Mine does the same thing.  I think if you don't work on site, and just dial in, it won't keep track.  That's what the Lanier guy told me when he came to set me up, but when I worked in the hospital, it did keep track.
Mine doesn't either, and they are not small town, any of them. nm

Mine is definitely Taylor. He does his own thing and if he doesn't win

he'll be regularly employed that's for sure.

bayscribe spellchecker ... mine doesn't beep ...

you can always hit cancel which just means that it will exit you from spellchecker no corrections will be saved and  you will have to start over ...  no beeping on mine at all -- NONE ANYWHERE IN BAYSCRIBE -- and my ALT-tab works fine  --although I usually use my mouse and lower task bar to get to the screen I want ...

You might be using a version customized to your employer's specificiations. ... so I'd recommend checking with coworkers or your company's website if applicable ... after you check your online bayscribe manual ,,,

Sorry not to be much help ...

Are you sure you're using Auto Text and not Auto Correct?
Auto Text accompanies the template, as I stated before. The Auto Correct entries are in a separate file with the .acl extension.
Transferring Auto Correct/Auto Text

I work in Word currently and have a large number of AC/AT entries.  I am moving to a platform that has Instant Text or Shorthand.  Is it possible to transfer these entries as a file somehow, or am I going to have to enter by hand?  Also any comments welcome regarding the ease of use, etc of Instant Text versus Shorthand.

Thanks

Where is AutoCorrect and AutoText stored....sm
and how do you back up these files?  Thank you!
They are stored on both the local server you..
work from as well as on the hard drive in your PC.  You "should" be able to access it when you sign in with your ExText UserID on another PC...however, I have seen it happen to people before..either in the process of switching PCs and/or even just a glitch in the local server that causes a loss on their end of the file, it is always best to save a copy of your entire .esp file to a disc.  If you use it regularly it probably has a ton of entries and you would be very sorry to lose them all, takes forever and a day it seems to re-enter everything.  (Been there, done that)
Nothing is stored. You dial a number sm
and get your dictation from digital files stored elsewhere.  It is simply a phone, with headphones, and a foot pedal.  You could dial the same number from any phone, plug in you code, and listen to the files from a handheld receiver, too.
It MIGHT be stored somewhere in your "normal" template...
... but I don't have time to research that right now. Try clearing out the address, and then try re-saving your normal template. If you are not familiar with how to do that, check the "help" files, or you can always post a question (or search the topics) on the Productivity Talk board. (I don't have the URL handy; you can Google it.)

I know I've done this very thing but I'll be darned if I can remember exactly how I did it... it was long ago... :)
Hate is like acid; it hurts the container it is stored in
You really should let it all go.
ESP files are stored on the service in the "Bin" folder. You should be able to open up an EXT

document and bring up your ESP window.  Click files and their should be a "Load" option.  Then you can search the server for your ESP file and you'll find it in the "Bin" folder.

I also agree, that you should back up your ESP file on a disk or jump drive.  I back up about once a month.

I made up my own abcz list; based on yrs of how it's already stored on Excel.

It's a test in progress to measure what MTs know and what type of test to give for the SM
different levels of MTs.  It's over $90.  That's a lot of money to pay to someone who is giving these tests for research as to what type of testing should be done for the different levels of MT.  The AAMT will probably take the results and make a test that they can give in India or the Phillipines or some other foreign country.

Loud music (some concerts) is around 80 to 120 dB
A jet engine is about 140 to 180 dB

Not a medical typing test but this website can test you..

It's called www.typingtest.com

Atleast it will give you an idea.. Sadly, I had to take it twice before I passed it LOL

Why would they do a microalbumin test when she has the period? A lot of test s will come out wrong

Neer's test is a shoulder impingement test

Don't think that has to do with the knee.  How about "bucket handle tear" of the knee?  Never heard of Neer having anything to do with the knee.

happens quite often i would test again or go see your GYN for blood test which is more accurate

Yeah a 30 minute test---work for free, he gets enough to test, his work is done - nm

Why are YOU attacking HER? Just because she doesn't want kids, doesn't mean she needs a psychi

Or maybe that in itself IS the test! It's really an ethics test, LOL. nm

Funny! Mine is almost as large, and I don't mind cleaning mine!
It's no problem at all.  Besides, I'll take lots of oodles of square footage any day of the week over living in a sardine can!
auto
Just type the heading and bold it and then go to autocorrect and add it.
auto text, auto text auto text - I also have ...
a couple of doctor accounts that pay me "off the books" and it's less than $800/month so that helps out a great deal.

I autotext every report until I build each doctor up to a "normal" text format. if you want more info - email me at dcr468@aol.com. I am always hesitant about writing the name of companies on this board because of the serious bashing that goes on.
You could add it to your auto correct
uuu for date spelled out.
we had one that sent auto feedbck to the mts
x
put it in your auto correct if your (sm)
program allows; the way you spell it incorrectly to the left and to the right the correct spelling and when you type it its corrected for you. Have done that several of my words I have the same problem with.
Auto Cap Options in IT

You can disable the Automatic Capitalization in IT by right-clicking on the phrases advisory, then go to Options and Automatic Capitalization. There you can enable/disable the feature and indicate whether or not you want it to capitalize after colons.

Another place to check is in AutoCorrect in Word- that may be automatically capitalizing things as well.

Why don't you just use Auto Correct
in Word? it's very similar to PRD and you can assign it to open on an F-key...
Unfortunately that is the bad part of auto

text and why companies encourage you to use it.  The shortcuts and templates you build don't last due to numerous reasons like rebooting the server, etc.  When companies hire you they make it sound like your lines will increase in no time once you build the shortcuts, but they fail to tell you that rebuilding them is also included!  Another reason why I'm so sick this profession and looking to get out.

auto text.

How do you add in auto correct?

2007 is really different than 2003.  I can't seem to find how I do this.  Thanks.

You can auto cap in autocorrect sm
I leave autocorrect enabled since I don't the ESP program. I use Instant Text and autocorrect togeter with ET and haven't had any problems. Under the show autocorrect options, just check mark capitalize first word in the sentences. I actually checked them all.
auto correct

How do you bold in auto correct?  Example: SOCIAL HISTORY:

Any help is appreciated greatly.

auto-backup
If you go under settings, and then playback settings, There is an autobackup setting ..It goes in milliseconds, and I currently have mine set at 1000, which seems to be a comfortable place, and backs it up just enough to catch the last word or so that i may have missed.
auto correct
I lost my auto correct. It asked me if I wanted to replace my normal template and like a dummy, I hit yes. Now, I do not have any of my doctor normals, but it has the shorter auto corrections for the patient, however, aspirin, etc., but not any of the longer ones that I use for doctor's normals. Does anyone know how to restore this?
Auto format

You should be able to restore by formatting your commands.  Just go in and find auto commands and click the one that over turned that.

Good luck!

Auto format
Which version are you using?
Auto accident - rear -end

AUTO "TEXT" ENTRIES
Sorry, I asked about auto "test"......I ment auto TEXT
Auto Text entries

The file should be located here:

c:documents and settings<your name>application datamicrosoft emplates

There are a couple of other "critical" files that you should also back up. One is CUSTOM.DIC - (this is your dictionary)
c:documents and settings<your name>application datamicrosoftproof

and the other is MSO1033.acl (AutoCorrect entries)
c:documents and settings<your name>application datamicrosoftoffice

Auto Text thanx for helping :)

Auto Correct question

I have a question.  Is there a way to print the entries in auto correct??  Also, is there a way to save all my entries in auto correct and auto text to a CD???  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Yes there is a way to print your auto correct
There is a free download for a macro program that backs up your auto correct file. You can print it..save it..and restore your autocorrect file with it. I love it. I have 3 computers and I use this to keep all of them up to date with my auto correct entries.

I dont think I can post a link here on this board. If you email me at Loveyaheart@aol.com I will be glad to give you the link for the download.
