Wow, lots to consider. I think I would do it because state jobs generally mean security, retirement, and good benefits. I worked as an IC for years making 60K and suddenly one day the company was no more and I was out in the cold. I could have never survived if my husband did not make good money because it has taken me some time to get established elsewhere. Once you decide either way, never look back and second guess yourself. Best of luck to you, fellow MT!
