Serving Over 20,000 US Medical Transcriptionists

I beg to differ

I have been both the lead Transcriptionist and QA, both of which I got based on my skill set since I have no interest in getting my CMT. Some services do pay out a premium for CMTs. However, every company I have worked for in the last 15 years has given me the CMT rate based on my skill and experience. Perhaps it's one of those things that's more valuable for a newer transcriptionist than those of us with a wealth of experience to back up our delusions of grandeur.

I beg to differ too.
you wrote 'If you want to be the lead or to get into QA, you'll need it.' That is absolutely untrue.

Went up the ladder at the Q in the good ol' days without my CMT. I think the CMT status now is designed just to make money for AHDI, nobody else.
