I was giving advice to the original poster, and I was giving examples.

Just giving my opinion and because you think I'm a meanie does not make it true.

I did not jump on a bandwagon either. I have never felt that teaching yourself MT is be a good idea. Just because a lot of people happen to agree with my way of thinking doesn't mean they are on a bandwagon. It means a lot of people here know the truth. I just hope people don't waste their time trying to learn MT and then find out they cannot find a job.

I hope the OP takes the advice that is more accurate than just what they want to hear or what 1 or 2 people were able to do years ago.

No anger issues here, just hard facts.

Don't beat yourself up over this just yet!
If you went to one of the main AAMT approved schools and (as you said) have been working and have been learning from that process, you may already be in a situation were you are picking up many of the things you feel you may not have got from your training program. MT is a continual learning process anyway. As a new MT, there is always a learning curve as you have to stop and look things up a lot. We all did that and still have to stop every so often.

Not only that, please keep in mind that different companies and every clients have their own set of rules and specs to guide you that you'll be expected to follow. Most do follow the BOS, but there are some exceptions at times. Those are things that going through another school isn't necessarily going to help you with because it would vary between companies and clients.

I suggest you try to figure out what you feel your weaknesses are first and work on those.

Good luck and God Bless you.

You can't beat Andrews or MTEC for an education. NM
