Just checked email, didn't see it

Thanks for the email. I just checked my email and did not see anything. I will keep looking, maybe there is a server delay or something. I really do want to know the real deal before taking the leap.

Thanks.

I didn't find it rude that you didn't agree with me. That doesn't
matter.  We don't have to agree.  What I found rude and condescending was the way you hammered away at how you had to have training, saying that anybody with common sense would know that you had to go to school to be an MT; things like that are what I found rude.  Some of us did just what you said couldn't be done.  Like I said, it doesn't matter if we agree or not.  We all have our opinions and are entitled to them.  Just don't try to tell me that what I, and others, have already done is not possible.
I just checked it
www.mtstars.com
go to fourth paragraph and there's a link "Resume Bank" click on it then there are instructions there for you to do so you can post your resume.
You don't have to know if they checked on your business.
Good grief.
Have you checked with your school?
Most schools will help their grads obtain jobs.
No personal experience here, but have you checked

Whenever I make a big purchase I check amazon.com for their customer reviews.  I find them so helpful.  Good luck in your decision. ~kam

Have you checked out the job seekers board? nm

Years ago you didn't need a certificate, didn't even
need experience, but things have changed.   Unless your mentor is going to sit by your side 24/7 I would recommend finishing the class, because you need to have a knowledge base in place.   I have seen recent posts though where companies willing to hire newbies will not hire those who has taken from the program that you are taking.

You should have a button where you compose your email to attach files. Click on that and it will take you to a window where you can browse files.  Click on that and select where your file is (desktop, folder, computer, etc.) then open the file you want to attach and your computer will do the rest, very easy once you do it once.  Your computer walks you through it most of the way.

I just learned how to do it myself, all by myself!;)

Good luck, and if you need more help, just ask. :)

I did email the owner
a couple of weeks ago and asked her if I was doing okay. She said to keep doing what I am doing because I am doing just fine. That was before I noticed that they were all looking at my reports. I really like this company, and the people are all very nice. I guess I just need to talk to the owner again before I have an anxiety attack over this. Thank you.
Here I am. See if clicking my email here

So if I had to do an encrypted email,
could I do that from yahoo, etc?
re: googling their email addy

I googled it and got nothing.  It was a rather generic gmail address, which was another flag.  Well, I emailed them with a few questions about the training (whether it was paid, local and guaranteed employment) and guess I will see.

Something more promising is available through the job office of the local tech school where I did a certificate - $10/hr (that is good here) for MT, working at home, and grads from the program I took (med coding - though it was not very throrough on the coding end of things) are allowed to apply.  Guess they aren't that picky?  But hey, if it is offered, I will take it!

I am putting in for that tonight via email and see if the job office will refer me to the employer.

Thanks for your opinion.  If they email back I will let you know what they said.

Do you have an email? I'm a new MT dying for work!!!
so glad to find an MT placement person and you came to the rite board!! Please, what is your company and how do I get ahold of you??!!
I am the person, who sent the email. I am a mentor. sm
I have had some challenges with interns, some requiring longer internships than others. Other newbies have breezed right through. I average the time from 3-4 months.

You are given a variety of family practice and specialty clinic work. You must meet 97% accuracy in medical terminology, medications, grammar and formatting before referral for contract is made. You will be contracted beginning at 7 cpl.

When you graduate, you take a doctor with you, one you have mastered and will get lines immediately. I assure you this is a legitimate internship.

You also receive new terms weekly.

If you are an MT employee or MT employer pls EMAIL ME!
I need all the help i can get.  I'm submitting my package to get into the MT program by the end of June 2009 and the only thing I haven't completed is the informational interview.  I have to ask 3 MT employees and 3 MT employers a few questions about this line of work and I'll be able to get my package processed and hopefully get into the program right away.  I am on maternity leave and it's difficulty for me to leave the house and search for people.  Please help me out so I can get into this program and finally make something of myself that I can be proud of.  Thanks everyone who has taken the time to read this.  My email is carpio_cat@hotmail.com
there are email addresses on the SETT website
in case you wanted some testimonials.
There's an MT recruiter below who has been placing more MT's than ever. Contact her for email.

just had to reply to self to activate email notification of replies - didn't do that on original post and I want to know when people have replied to this  : )
I didn't go to any of the BIG 3
And I did not have a problem either. I worked hard, got extra practice dictation and did a lot of extra work on my own. I got my first job, stayed there until I moved. They gave me such a good reference letter that I have had no problems landing clients since. Every single one has their own style and requirements, so the learning curve is always going to be there anyway. I interviewed a person who went to one of the top 3, and she didn't have a clue, by the way. It is all in how seriously you take the work, just like anything else.
didn't think of that!
Thanks! I just did it, and I think for the most part that did do it. I looked at EVERYTHING else! LOL
I didn't think so.
Can't hurt to ask.
I didn't about that.
Thank you Deb. That IS a very valid point. I appreciate your quick reply.
I didn't know....sm
I didn't know there was paid internships where you get paid for the work. I didn't have an AHDI approved school I don't believe so I didn't have that luxury. Wish I had though.
