I'm not saying it's easy; it's not. My sister is one. Part of it is that it's hard on your neck, I believe. And lots of people can't imagine being in mouths all day, but at it's probably less gross than many nursing jobs, depending on what grosses you out most. But the money is just like good RN pay, so most of them work 2-4 days a week . I've never heard of one that worked 5 days a week yet. And there is a lot of radiology training and certification to do. NOBODY gets more training (and yearly recertification fees) in x-ray than dental hygienists (at least in NC), according to my sister.
