Wow, you're REALLY bad at math!
"98% of the hate spewing on this board has been by the McCain/Palin fans" Whuh? What's the matter, do only HALF the pixels on your monitor work?

You know, you're supposed to add water to that Kool-Aid, right? Not just suck it out of the packet full-strength.

You're proof positive that Obama fanatics are delusional!
Your math doesn't add up. So, what you're saying is
please enlighten
Smoke and mirrors? It's math. Like, second grade math.
I don't understand your attack.

A little addition, a little subtraction, a tiny bit of multiplication. It's not all that hard to understand.

If you have questions, ask them. Unless you just don't want to hear the answer. In that case, I can't help you.
because for you it's all 'fuzzy-wuzzy'.....nm

I am teaching a small ESL

President Bush flew BACK from vacation to sign the Terri Schiavo legislation.

President Bush flew OVER the Katrina victims.

It seems to help them understand better.

I hardly think that teaching kids...(sm)
how NOT to bash LGBTs is going to "force homosexuality upon your kids."  Give me a break!  They aren't teaching Peter how to kiss Paul.  They're teaching Peter how not to beat up Paul.  I think it's really sad that this actually has to be a lessen in school in the first place, and in grammar school at that  --- not because of the LGBT issues being brought to light, but because of the parents who have obviously taught their kids that its okay to bash others who are different.  How many times have you called an LGBT a bad name in front of your kids?  Hmmm....
They aren't teaching
Peter how to kiss Paul. They are, however, trying to reinforce to our children that if Peter kisses Paul, it's acceptable. We will continue to teach them that it's not. We do not teach our kids to bash others who are different but to bash the bad behaviors that others engage in. The homosexual community's doublespeak isn't going to work.
Teaching about contraception is the key, IMHO
We need to start teaching men and women about contraception.  Im amazed when I read medical reports at how many do not use anything or the *rhythm method*.  Yes, I agree with you..I would love for there to be no thing such as abortion..It is a terrible thing, breaks my heart, however, until we educate people about contraception and taking responsibility for their sexual lives, abortion will continue, whether it is legal or not..and that is the terrible part.  I can remember back in NY in the 1970s..Abortion was not legal..and women ended up dead in back room alleys, dirty motel rooms, in their own homes, trying to end a pregnancy with a coat hanger, their insides ripped out.  I remember seeing pictures in Ms Magazine of police files of women who died trying to terminate a pregnancy.  I fear it will go back to that..
The only ones teaching hate are people

you continue to lie and say he is.  He is not teaching hate.  In fact, it's quite the opposite. He's showing grace and dignity and trying to bring people together, but about 20% of Americans don't want that.  They want to continue the divide that Bush started.  20% people hate Obama and they represent most of the posts on this board, day after day, whining, complaining, moaning and lying about Obama.

You would deny healthcare to people who need it.  You would deny Social Security benefits to those who worked all their lives.  As long as you have yours, you don't care about anyone else. There's a whole thread on this page devoted to hatred of gays and gay marriage.  There's also a thread devoted to a **hate crimes bill** that you all hate, as well.  Don't worry.  Hatred comes from the heart, so you're not in danger of losing any of the overflowing supply you seem to harbor.

So it's the **national day of prayer**.  There is not one person in this country who is deprived the right to pray.  Not one.  Everyone can pray regardless of their religion.  The day was intended for everyone of all faiths to come together and pray for our country to succeed.  But you don't want that.  You, Cooter and Rush and the other nut jobs out there want it to fail.  There are a lot of good people who happen to be Muslim, just as there are a lot of bad people who claim to be Christian.  There are good and bad in both. One religion is no better than any other.  They are all equal in this country.  That's what freedom of religion means.

There's probably a good reason that there isn't a **national day of government** in churches across this country.

Once again, Obama is not a Muslim and you're a sick, hateful pathetic liar.  If any harm comes to President Obama it will be from someone who hallucinates and promotes hatred just like you do.

What is your problem with just teaching no bullying
There is no need to point out homosexuals as being people they should not pick on. Why pick out any single type of kid?

Did you ever hear of just teaching your child to be nice to people, to not name call, bully or pick on anyone? That would just about wrap it up wouldn't it?

There are many young children in elementary school that do not even know the term "homosexual", so I certainly don't believe it is the school's job to bring that to the attention of a child. That is the parent's responsibility to explain what homosexuality is, if they so choose.

You think for a minute if a school starts talking about tolerance of homosexuals that questions wouldn't arise about what they do, what that means, why they do that, and every other question they could possibly imagine? I sure as heck don't care for the school system to educate my child on gays or their lifestyle, thank you very much!

Teaching a child about not making fun of a child with disabilities is NOT the same as teaching a child about homosexuals. You believe homosexuality to be a "disability". Funny you brought up those two things together..........

No sell!
What kind of moral teaching she had as a child is no

reflection of whether or not she has a child out of wedlock.  My 18-year-old niece was raised in church, had good Christian parents and got pregnant before marriage.  You can only teach a child.  You can't force him or her to live by your own convictions.

Someone should do the math....sm
Of all the so called bailouts over the past few months.

I'm with you....if they would have given the money to every adult worker in this country, instead of FM/FM, Wall Street, AIG, the car companies, et al.....I bet it would come close to tens of thousands, if not over 100,000 or more to each....wouldn't that solve the economy problem?

I would trust the average American to spend the money more wisely, especially since our taxes are going to pay for it sometime anyway...why shouldn't we be using it now, to turn our economy around.

Probably too easy, that's why no one in charge has thought of it yet....
Mostly for the ones who can't do the math

Do the Math
It's 2.11418%
Once again...do the math
They say that the projects and programs that do not work and will be eliminated will save 2 trillion dollars over a time of 10 years.......
Well, your answer is in the math.
By population, Alaska ranks 47th, ahead of only North Dakota, Vermont and Wyoming, with 683,478, not all of whm are voters, of course. It is also a predominantly red state, with 26 out of 40 republican state house members and 15 out of 20 state senators (67% of their legislators), a republican US representative and 2 republican US senators. It's just not that hard for a republican to get high approval ratings when the poll is taken from a pool of fellow choir members.

The poll I referred to was SPECIFIC to approval of the TRANSITION. It is patently false to suggest that Obama "hasn't even being doing anything." Since he garnered 52.9% of the popular vote on Nov 4, the 67% approval rating would suggest that he has managed to "win over" 14% of those who voted against him in one of the most divisive campaigns in recent memory. Evidently, some of your fellow party members are seeing something different than the "same old crap" you are trying to assert. By the way, the math would not be complete without pointing out that we are talking about a poll pool among 129,368,906 voters. Winning over even 1% when we are talking about such numbers is considerably more of a daunting task by comparison.
It's fuzzy math, looking...tax cut")

First, if (more like when) the Bush tax cuts expire, what does that yield?  Hmmmm....

Also, those in the $42K salary will get honked, too.  I'll look for it and post it.

Well I'm no math whiz -- but

it would seem to me that of the times McCain did vote, 90% of it would be with Bush -- whether he only voted 10 times in total and 9 of those times voted with Bush or whether he voted 100 times in total and 90 of those times were with Bush.

But again, I'm no math whiz, just using my gosh darn common sense!

Your math is flawed

Notice the part where he goes out of his way to dampen any speculation about Obama. As usual, you guys are grasping at straws that are not there....AGAIN.
Need to re-calculate your math

Bush + Cheney + Rice + Rove + Rumsfeld + GOP and their greedy corporate buddies= war mongers, liars, criminals and have the blood of every American soldier who was ever sent to Iraq on their hands and to every American family they continually bring to financial ruin because of their totally corrupt and amoral policies at home and abroad

LOL....at least he/she isn't majoring in math....(sm)

You hit the nail on the head.  That's why I didn't bother answering -- that along with the bogus threats that seem to be prevalent lately.

Whoa, where did you learn math??
You cannot do your calculations based on the fact that everyone in the lower 48 and Hawaii would NOT vote for her!!
The math is based on Sam's claim
If Sam is talking 80% approval rating in Alaska, that would imply that she is talking about people who actually are familiar with her policies, programs, credibility, how she conducts herself and soforth...in other words, approval rating among those who actually know her/voted for her. That is what a governor's approval rating is.

The math shows us how much of an overall approval rating of these same factors she has nationwide. SP was only in the governor's office for 20 months. She is still an unknown quantity here and will remain so. The only people who can rate her job performance are the one from her state, since she is not known in the lower 48. The math merely points out exactly what that means within the context of a national approval rating of job performance, since the rest of the 49 cannot possibly be included in that figure. Thus on a national level, that 0.182% means next to nothing.
I like your math better. - thatnks that's 20 days less
20 days is 20 days. I'll take anything less than what I had. - oops 19 days.

Seeing as they've started a count down of how many days left with Bush in office I think I will start the countdown of the next. Then every day when they get on and see 1475 days left, 1474 days left, 1473 days left, they will understand how sick of it we are getting.
liberal fuzzy math....the fact remains....
she has a higher approval rating than most of the governors in the lower 48...quite possibly THE highest. Nice try...no cigar.
Thanks for posting, my math was off, you are right......aagghhhhh! (worse than I thought)...nm

We're not defending Bush we're pointing out the obvious
All you see in your view is Bush, Bush, Bush. Nobody else exists. You have yet to answer any of the questions I posed yesterday. We're not the one obsessing about Bush. I'm sure you'll counter that with I don't owe you any answers! It's really telling that for five or six days this board was mute about the Israel/Lebanon situation. You were too busy posting trash news about Bush like nothing was even happening, but I know that the left has wait for its talking points. You all cannot formulate opinions on your own. You have boilerplates ready to go though. *This is Bush's fault because _____________ but you have to wait on Howard Dean, Bill Clinton, etc. etc. to fill in the blanks for you. It's not just a phenomenon here but with all the left. You can count on at least two days of silence when something unforseen breaks out in the world, because they have to retreat to their bunkers to get their talking points straight, but it will always start with *This is Bush's fault because....
Hey, if they're smoking cigs, they're paying for SCHIP.

What is it with people these days? You think that just because Hamas is getting its fanny handed to it that that magically makes them victims, and we should all weep and throw cash at them?

From the dawn of time, lesser civilizations have fallen to stronger ones.

It's why the human species survived and the neanderthals didn't.

It's why Rome conquered the Celts.

It's why the Barbarians conquered the Western Roman Empire.

It's why the British conquered the American Indians.

It's why the Spanish conquered the Aztecs.

It's why the Muslims conquered Israel the first time. But, since their societal progres seems to have permanently parked in the Stone Age, now Israel is conquering them right back.

Deal with it.

I'm snotty, you're rude...we're even....
My dearrrr....not everyone in this country pays taxes. So you are wrong there. Obama said "spread the wealth." From his own mouth. The interview in Canada...economic parity and redistribution. Words from HIS mouth. If you believed those words from his mouth as much as you believed other words from his mouth, you would know he is a socialist. Selective memory is a wonderful thing ain't it??
You're right. They're all wack-jobs... nothing
so they try to make themselves feel important by standing around on street corners with their posters and their dollies.

Most of them are just buffoons, good for nothing other than being laughed at by the rest of us. But the ones that totally lose all reason, and go so far as to shoot people (in a church of all places...) is pretty off the deep end.
You're a liar. GT didn't curse. You're a filthy liar, but you are a gift from God.
God sent you here to as a constant reminder of the kind of person I DON'T want to be and if I ever have a bad day when I feel temporarily stupid, all I have to do is read your posts, and I realize there are those out there who are much worse off than I am and for them it's not temporary.
They're doing to this board what they're trying to do

to the whole country.  They're trying to take it over.  They want to control which God you believe in, who you love and what you do with your body, be it regarding life or regarding death.  If you don't voluntarily agree to turn your free will over to their control, they will hunt you down and nag you to death (since they can't do anything more violent on a message board).  It's obvious they are sick, sick people and need major help.

But they ARE like watching a car wreck and are sometimes hard to ignore.

I've thought about it, and for me personally, the very best thing to do is ignore them and for 2 reasons:

1.  Ignoring them and not reading their posts makes my visit on this board much more pleasant.  I already know I'm not missing anything because there isn't one post on this entire board written by them that has contributed anything of value or intelligence.

2.  If we all refuse to read and respond to their posts, they might give up and go find another board to terrorize.  I doubt that, though, because they've taken over this board and simply don't have the CLASS to leave.  They take pride in their bully on the playground mentality and are proud of their ignorant behavior.  They will probably just continue to pat themselves on their backs on this board.  The only thing that might startle them and cause them to stop is that the NUMBER of posts on the Liberal board are starting to increase heavily as a direct result of their posting.  In the past, they've used the Liberal board's lower numbers to trash us for not being as interesting, when, in fact, the CON board must be pretty boring if they are always choosing to be HERE instead.

Like I said, I've decided that I'd like my visits here to be pleasant, so I'm just going to stop subjecting myself to their cesspools of attacks.  They've proven their posts aren't worth wasting time reading, so I'm just going to stop and will feel much better as a result of stopping.

Bush Tax Cuts = Tax Shifts
UFE Report: Tax Burden Shifting off Wealthy onto Everyone Else

$197 Billion in Tax Cuts to Top 1% of US Taxpayers as Big as States’ Budget Shortfalls of $200 Billion

BOSTON — A new report, entitled “Shifty Tax Cuts: How They Move the Tax Burden off the Rich and onto Everyone Else,” from United for a Fair Economy (UFE) indicates that between 2002 and 2004, the Bush tax cuts to the top 1% of US income earners redirected billions of dollars in revenue that could have eliminated virtually all of the budget shortfalls in the states.

“Congress had the option to send aid to the states to prevent $200 billion worth of service cuts and regressive tax increases,” said Chris Hartman, UFE’s research director. “Instead, they gave tax breaks totaling roughly the same amount to multi-millionaires and the rest of the top 1%.”

The report identifies five main areas of shifting tax burden:

FEDERAL TO STATE — a 15% shift in tax burden between 2000 and 2003

PROGRESSIVE TO REGRESSIVE — at the federal level, a 17% decline in the share of revenue from progressive taxes and a 135% increase in the share of revenue from regressive taxes since 1962

WEALTH TO WORK — A tax cut on unearned income — such as inheritance or investment — of between 31% and 79%, but a tax hike on work income of 25% since 1980

CORPORATIONS TO INDIVIDUALS — a 67% drop in the share of federal revenues contributed by corporations and a 17% rise in individuals’ share

CURRENT TAXPAYERS TO FUTURE GENERATIONS — record deficits that shift the tax burden to our children and grandchildren

“When President Bush and Congress trumpet, ‘Here’s a tax cut', we say, ‘Taxpayer beware!’ said Chuck Collins, United for a Fair Economy co-founder. “Unless you are super-rich, it’s a tax SHIFT, not a cut. Non-wealthy taxpayers will pay for these tax cuts with increased state and local taxes or cuts in public services.”

“Between 2002 and 2004, a full $197 billion in new tax breaks went to the top 1% of American taxpayers,” Hartman commented. “This is money that has disappeared into the pockets of the very wealthy, making it unavailable to solve ongoing budget crises at the state and local levels.”

“I got a rebate check last summer for $400,” said Collins. “Then my eight-year-old’s public school asked me to contribute money to replace worn-out chairs for the students. At the same time, I found out they laid off the librarian because of budget cuts. What good is a $400 tax cut when parents have to cough up additional money for chairs and books or else see their children go without?”

The report concludes that the total federal, state and local tax burden has become increasingly the responsibility of middle-and low-income families in recent decades, and that revenues being generated by taxes are not sufficient to pay for existing public services. Work in particular is being taxed at a higher rate than investment. “I do a lot of work in predominantly Latino areas of Boston,” said UFE Education Specialist Gloribell Mota. “Residents there are the working poor — they have jobs and pay taxes — yet are getting pennies in tax cuts and seeing health care services they depend on slashed.”

“The Bush administration has followed a strategy of starving public services by pulling tax money away from education and housing and giving it away to multi-millionaires,” said Karen Kraut, UFE’s State Tax Partnership director. “States are suffering as a result, and people are going without essential services in order to fund the lifestyles of the rich.”

The report calls for tax reforms to improve the fairness of tax distribution and ensure adequate revenues. Concerned Americans are urged to pass resolutions in their cities and towns to stop the tax cuts and restore local services that have been affected, to call and write their congressional representatives to take action to stop the cuts, and to sign the Tax Fairness Pledge at www.ResponsibleWealth.org/taxpledge.

The co-authors of the report are Chuck Collins, UFE Co-founder; Chris Hartman, UFE Research Director; Karen Kraut, Director of UFE’s State Tax Partnerships; and Gloribell Mota, UFE Education Specialist.

United for a Fair Economy is an independent national non-profit that raises awareness of growing economic inequality.
