I do not hate cats, but I don't particularly like them either. And I especially do not like doing my puttering in my flower bed and unearthing a nice fresh pile of cat poo. It's disgusting. Come on...paying back the employees that actually do the work that makes the company succeed?? Creating an atmosphere that makes the employees feel that they have made a contribution to the success of the company and acknowledging their contribution in a financial manner...that is so 1950's.
I say at the very least the owner should get some kind of punishment.
I hate cats. They poop all in my flower beds, kill my baby birds and baby squirrels and prey on my mourning doves. We live on a farm and we have cats that people dump out here. We catch them and take them to the pound when we can, but I just can't stand them. Cat bites are really bad and cause a lot of illness. I don't blame these people for having had enough. The SBO who has a small staff, who then would have a jump in payroll but no jump in income, unless of course he raises prices, but the SBO already has trouble competing with the huge box/chain stores. Raising the min wage ends up screwing the SBO who are the backbone of free enterprise in this country.

who says he will have to do this, should he get over that hurdle of his business growing to being over 250,000, he will then have to pay more taxes under Obama, and won't be able to. I believe him when he tells me this. I've heard other similar stories in the news (and not Joe the plumber either).
Why must you call it propaganda, when some of us know real, live people who run these businesses, who will be forced to cut back on employees, and/or decide not to expand. They won't be able to put money back into their business to grow it because they'll be taxed to death. and may eventually go out of business or go elsewhere, because they won't be able to afford being in business under Obama.
These are real people, with real concerns, not propaganda.
That's why a lot of them are voting for McCain next month.

Can we bring the board back to the true reason for the board
Can we get the political board back to the true purpose of this board – to share opinions of why we like our candidate. Not bash and cut down others because they don’t agree with you.
I stayed away from this board for the past couple days because anyone who had anything positive to say about Sarah Palin got slammed, bashed, kicked down, etc. After awhile I found it all too draining, and was not seeing any reason to come. Yes, I did see some of it towards people who favored Barack Obama, but if you read the posts again it is mostly towards anyone who favored Sarah Palin/John McCain.
I thought the political board was for posting information regarding politics and candidates. What I have seen for the past few days is that it has been an attack board. Especially if you have anything positive you want to share about Sarah Palin. You say something good about her and you get attacked, you answer back, and you get attacked more, and then when you get mad and pretty much say stop attacking me, they come back with this “Geez, I’m allowed to have an opinion”.
Another thing I am tired of seeing is the slanderous, hate filled, really off the wall comments about Sarah Palin. The latest was something about her daughter actually had her baby. Talk about just bizarre comments. I thought what’s next, she’s an alien from another planet? The more I kept reading the more the comments were getting just really weird and bizarre. Of course nobody ever having any proof of any of these allegations. I then came to realize that the posters were just trying to get a fight going.
I also saw posts that had nothing to do with politics but attacking a poster named Sam. Again, probably trying to get another fight going for no good reason and on things that have nothing to do whatsoever with politics. I’ve read “Sam is like an annoying nat that you sway away”, “Sam, please let me know where you work” or “she must have her quota” or “sam is to the politics board as oracle is to the” This childish rhetoric is getting old. I’m not defending sam she is a big girl and I can see by her posts she can take care of herself, but my point is that this has nothing to do with politics. If you want a fight maybe you could request that the administrator create a separate “fight and degrade” section.
I’ve read the administrators post a couple different times called Beware of Flaming. She/he said as long as we realize that not everyone is going to agree we shouldn’t wear our feelings on our sleeves and a little more oversight on here would be good. Let people express his or her opinion and move on. If you don’t like someone just ignore that person. “It’s not rocket science, you know” (I liked that statement) 
I consider posting on this board a privilege and not a right. If you don’t agree with something and you post that you don’t agree and state the facts why (and are civilized about it) that’s one thing, but when you bash and degrade others without showing proof and just want to start fights and belittle others it just seems a bit juvenile to me.
I come to the politics board to hear ideas and stuff (facts) about the candidates. That is how I’m learning about each one, but I don’t want to read people attack other posters for no good reason. I'd like to hear about Obama/Biden & McCain/Palin, but I want to hear facts.
If you like to fight so much why don’t you pick on people that you can fight to face to face.

We aren't doing things to terrorists just for sh!ts and giggles here. They have been at war with us for a long time. We finally go to war with them and WE are the bad guys? How so? Should we go back in history and put every president on trial for things that happened during the wars? Cuz there would be several presidents that would be put away if we go that route. This is war. We do what we have to do to keep Americans safe. What would you have said if we didn't interrogate these prisoners and LA was hit like they were planning. Or what about the Brooklyn Bridge they were planning on attacking as well. What would you think then?

The warnings were there.....he should have known, etc. Well....Bush did what he did and we found out and stopped those attacks saving American lives and all you guys talk about is how two known terrorists were waterboarded. Cry me a friggin river. They are still living and breathing with their heads attached to their bodies which is more than I can say for some Americans they have captured.

Do you even remember 9/11? The phone calls from the people stuck in the building to their spouses to say goodbye. I sat in front of the TV for a whole week with tears in my eyes each time I heard one of those phone calls saying goodbye. Or how about the brave people who overtook the plane from the terrorists and plunged to their death. What about the people who were trapped in the building and jumped to their death? Do you not remember any of this?
How in the world can you feel sympathy for anyone who finds joy in what they did to us on 9/11...especially since they want to do more?

Michelle Obama is a career woman herself. Between her and Obama....they make like 1 million bucks a year. That isn't all his income....that is hers as well. She spends time campaigning and traveling to give speeches. You say SP shouldn't be VP because she has young children. Here Obama is with young children and nothing is said. We assume Michelle is with them 24/7.....did Michelle personally call you and tell you that?? I am just saying that this whole argument about not liking SP because she should stay home with her children is just as relevent to argue when it comes to B. the people in the path of Ike, I AM in the path of Ike myself. I have small children and animals to worry about and there is no one else but me. You cannot understand what it is like to know that evacuation orders are being called, some voluntary, others mandatory, that the path of the storm changes every 3 or 4 hours and you have to make decisions about whether or not to stay or leave. You either stock up on nonperishibles which go flying off the shelves within hours, board up and hunker down or you board up and get the heck out of Dodge.
All day yesterday and last night, the weather channel was announcing that some mandatory evacs had been called, but NOBODY, including local media outlets, was actually saying which ones they were. My comments were more or less about the lack of media coverage but I am also not apologetic about feeling some resentment toward the herd mentality and worship of one single SKIRT, a word which I intentionally chose because as far as I am concerned, up against 5 million people running for their lives and MY OWN CHILDREN, her comings and goings and all the smut politics that has been surrounding the nonstop media blitz was trivial and insignificant. If it were your home, your car, your chldren and your life, you would get that. What is even more disturbing is the fact that some of you do not even seem to have the capacity to take a single moment out of all this juvenile rhetoric and tit-for-tat outrage to stop and just simply try to put yourselves into somebody elses' shoes. Next to my children, SP is a pipsqueak, a skirt....a NOBODY. Wee needed some HELP and we couldn't get it because of all this stupid nonsense. Don't you get that?

While this legislation is targeted at abortion, it doesn't actually say abortion. It says "procedures." Given it's broad language it can be translated into any type of procedure.
But lets take this scenario into consideration. Girl gets pregnant and wants to have the baby. Girl's health is at risk if she has the baby. Doctor does not believe in abortion at all, so does not have to give that patient the option of abortion. Get the picture yet? It's not all about abortion. It's about limiting health care in general.

Been to Texas to visit the grandkids. What a time we had!!!! I'm always interested in politics as well as history. During our 10 hour trip (both ways) I read "With Fire and Sword" which was about the Civil War in Arkansas, reconstruction and the politics that went with it. I was surprised to learn that there is really nothing new, corruption and party fighting go back forever. A good read for anyone interested in historical facts.
