per DAY. Not per week, per DAY. If the loss continues at this rate, it will hit a zero balance and I'll have nuthin' to lose. So I'm voting for Obama, cuz I sure as he11 don't want that old Republican prune taxing my HEALTH CARE next.

The bill is about when and not now, meaning NOW, prisoners taken in war are dealt with by us.  The bill is about when Iraq becomes a full democracy and has nothing to do with who cares most about the soldiers.  This just caught my eye on the menu because it is wrong headed. And, if it were true, the media would be headlining it.  They aren't.
doesn't matter to me
I think my candidate could hold his own against either one of those, but everyone has to protect "poor Sarah." Frankly, I don't want a leader that has to be handled with kid gloves. Geez.
Doesn't matter. I will NOT be in ANY way...
responsible for putting Barack Obama in the White House. NO WAY. NO HOW.
No it really doesn't matter..
I tune in just about everyday just to hear her and Joy go at it. Joy is rude, typical New Yorker I can say that, I am from there, so no flaming.
i think that it doesn't really matter who won
We're in the economic crapper either way. Now the pubs will be able to blame the dems for the next 4 years.
doesn't matter

where I live or where you live.  A republican who tries to suppress voter turnout by declaring that registrations on a certain weight of paper are invalid is not a good guy. Notice he was voted out of office?  All youse defending Joe the Plumber and condemning a corrupt public official have your head screwed on backwards. The dems are in control now, so bleat on as you wish.  we will defend your right to opinion as well as own.  We're just that kinda folk.

Doesn't matter what you THINK you know
One of my best friends is an immigration lawyer and also does adoption from foreign countries. He knows the laws and says Indonesia does NOT have dual citizenship.....never has with the U.S. and the U.S. does not recognize dual citizenship with Indonesia.

Dealing with countries that do not recognize dual citizenship is not the same as say dealing with Great Britain.

Under Indonesian law, if a parent renounces a child's citizenship to another country, that is all that matters. That child no longer has U.S. citizenship......period!!! His stepfather renounced his citizenship to the U.S., whether you like it or not.

Now, if Obama wanted to renounce his citizenship to Indonesia, he could have done so at the appropriate age of adulthood, but he did not. Even then, it takes a lot more in Indonesia that just renouncing....a lot of mumbo jumbo and red tape to do that as well.

Indonesia does have a law starting in ག that supposedly would allow dual citizenship, but it still hasn't gotten roots yet and really no one has been able to even get dual citizenship with this supposed law, so like it or not, Obama is NOT a U.S. citizen.

It doesn't matter who or what you voted for -
in the past. If you voted for someone or something in the past election(s), and you feel it was a mistake, and then you vote for the same thing again, that would very likely make you a moron.
It doesn't have to matter to you...did not post it for you alone...
She is a member of the Democratic National Committee, for pete's sake. That is not just any committee as far as politics are concerned.

I understand YOU don't care. I get it. But I think others will. SHe is not just endorsing him, she is going to campaign for him for Pete's sake...lol.

It is virtually unheard of for a member of the national committee of either party to endorse the OTHER party's candidate. Especially a Democrat.

Obama really ticked some people off. As smart as he has been in other decisions, someone sure led him wrong on a big one.

Wow...this could be another game changer.
Doesn't matter. The message is still the same.

It really doesn't matter who moderates - sm
Because, no matter what, any misstep Palin makes will be magnified a thousand fold by the left wing, then mocked on SNL, then replayed ad infinitum on Leno and by the harpies on The View and by "I've-got-a-crush-on-Obama" Letterman.

And any blunder Biden makes will be laughed off as, "Oh, that whacky Joe."
Doesn't matter to me. I can look up the votes...
on regulation and deregulation. McCain was right about this crisis looming, Dems killed the bill in committee. What I saw was a 30-year product of what is wrong with Washington now and someone who is the antithesis of Washington politics. I am ready for REAL change.

To use your words, hey genius...its the Patriot Act. And it has already been used to foil plots within the US. We live in a different world now. Obama voted to extend the Patriot Act by the way. Just so you know.
Truly doesn't matter where she appears or what she does...sm
the left will always find a reason to find fault of some sort.

It's actually rather admirable for her to take this particular bull by the horns, and appear on SNL's "weekly Palin smear show."

Unfortunately, I hear they're also going to follow the Obama campaign and the media's lead and smear Joe the Plumber for asking a question, that gave the Obama answer, that has Obama's campaign scrambling to try to save themselves from ruin.

Obama's answer to Joe is the real big problem here....and was an election breaker and maker, and Obama knows it, and so do the American people.

Mark my words....Sarah Palin and Joe the Plumber, have saved McCain in this election.

And Obama knows it and is running scared again.....
you know, it doesn't really matter what he says because somebody will always discount it as a lie

seems that all those calls are being ignored anyway since we are getting reports about a compromise measure on the stimulus plan that appears bound for passage. Whose got deaf ears now? Huh?
Doesn't matter how you get it - whether by check -SM
or by paying $600 less in taxes. $600 is $600. Even if that causes you to break even on taxes, not owing and not paying, if you didn't have to pay $600 in taxes, then you're at least not in the hole for it, either. I'll take it any way I can get it.
Doesn't matter what I would suggest,

no one in the upper echelon would listen anyway. Look how many people HAVE complained to the government and they went and did what they wanted to anyway.

First, home mortages/foreclosures should have been taken care of by way of being able to re-finance through banks (which probably will not happen), but in reality, should have been taken care of in the bank bailout. There should have been a lot of stipulations in the bank bailout that were not put in place but both dems and pubs voted for it. There should not have been government jobs/waste in the new stimulus plan; i.e., parks, high speed rail between Disneyland and Las Vegas, STD/sex stuff, and whoopdedo a $13 a week in our paycheck, but you know all that.

BTW, heard O state today that the $13 a week equals $65 a month. Do the math. He's going by a 5-week month, not 4. There are a couple months that have 5 weeks, but not many, so he's slightly wrong there.

There is so much wrong with this stimulus package. FYI, I'm not whining. I'm complaining but it seems to fall on deaf ears.

What's sad is it doesn't matter which party
The liberal dems wring their hands about the plight of these people and want to let them stay (and hand them the moon) for 'humanitarian' reasons.

The conservative reps support the corporate interests of a ready supply of cheap labor (and we know how well that's worked for MTs), appealing to the citizen's desire for inexpensive products.

Bottom line is that they're both seeking the vote of the millions of Hispanic immigrants, both legal and illegal*.

*: Anything can be bought. The same social security cards and driver's license that some use to get work are used to register to vote. It's harder to cash a check at my bank than it is to register to vote.

That's the average salary, not the Red Cross
That's kind of misleading, since it's the average salary for a non-profit CEO and whereas there are many little ones, the CEOs of the big ones (Red Cross and United Way) do make huge amounts. Takes a lot of nerve for them to ask me for my pittance of a donation!

Mine goes to Salvation Army.

Average family on S-CHIP makes around 40,000 -

Most states cover a family of 4 making around $40,000 per year. I know in Montana you have to make even less than that to qualify for S-CHIP, so although the $80,000 obviously upsets you greatly, it is not the norm, but the exception.

The only reason I bring up the abortion issue (which I have mixed feelings about myself and will not get into in this topic) is because I think if that baby is born that baby deserves healthcare.  Simple as that.  I don't see any hypocrisy in that statement, but I'm sure you will since you seem to find something wrong with every one of my arguments.

I guess I am looking at the distinct disadvantage the average worker in America finds himself in.
Most are not old enough to remember why unions were necessary in the first place.  Of course unions are far from perfect, but without the collective bargaining power they afford, I'm not sure what our options are.  If it is left up to the corporations then more and more is taken from the worker.  That seems to be what has played out.  Ideas?
You better not have a 401K
Democrats now want to take your 401K from you and tax the crap out of it beforehand.  They also want to set up a government pension where everyone will pay 5% of they pay into a mandated pension plan.  Obama is supporting this.  Where does it all end?  You don't call this complete government takeover?  Liberals in the white house will be the death of a free democracy. They will kill this country.
No 401K here either....... sm

Commentary: Larger-Than-Life Corporate Salaries are Unfair to Average American Workers

Date: Friday, April 14, 2006
By: Judge Greg Mathis, BlackAmericaWeb.com

Despite slower-than-anticipated growth and lower-than-expected profits, many corporations have generously rewarded their leaders, while simultaneously reducing lower-level staff salaries and benefits in an attempt to control costs. This disturbing practice only serves to further widen the gap between America’s wealthy few and its working class and clearly demonstrates just how little this country values its workforce.

At a time when most American workers are struggling to make basic ends meet and worrying how they’ll manage to save enough for retirement, many of this country’s corporate chief executives are stuffing their pockets with larger-than-life compensation packages that include high base salaries, stock options and ample pension plans. In 2004, the average chief executive’s salary at a large company was more than 170 times that of the average worker’s pay. Last year, executive salaries grew 25 percent, while that of the average American worker grew only 3.1 percent.

Even when a company struggles, their CEOs are still rewarded. For example, the current CEO of a global manufacturing firm received over $11 million in compensation last year, despite the company’s $3.4 billion revenue loss, an 11-percent drop in stock value and a staff reduction of 17,000 workers. There are similar stories at corporations across the country. While worker pensions are frozen and many are asked to do without raises, CEOs manage to earn their multi-million dollar bonuses.

It’s no surprise that CEOs are cleaning up. Consider this: Corporations often use compensation committees to set their executive salaries. Many of these committees use outside consultants to help guide the process. These consultants are often already contracted to do other work for the company. The conflict of interest here is obvious: The consultant won’t upset the CEO -- and risk losing other contracts -- by setting a more realistic, performance based pay model.

Many corporate CEOs are, in short, getting over, and it is a slap in the face of every American worker. While it is understood that executive salaries would greatly exceed that of the average worker’s, there is no logical argument to explain why the growth rate between the two is so dramatically different. To protect its workforce, corporate America must ensure worker’s salaries grow at rates that keep pace with the cost of living, while slowing the rate of growth of CEO salaries. Corporate boards must stop rewarding CEOs with multi-million dollar bonuses. It is unacceptable for a company to lay off thousands of workers and then turn around and pay an executive for a job well done.

As a country, we often ask our government to think about the needs of the average American, and rightly so. However, if America is to truly prosper, the corporations that feed our local economy must also consider and respect the well-being of average worker.

401K/retirement fund

You can't "take" your pension and 401K out of the stock market if you are not retirement age.  We are stuck with whatever the companies we work for invest in. my husband and I have some choices about where we invest our 401K but they all involve mutual funds, stocks, bonds, etc.
